  • This was one of the best BBC News title sequences ever - way ahead of its time. The "flower" someone mentioned on Martyn Lewis's lapel is a poppy, commemorating Remembrance Day on November 11th.

  • Debbie Thrower who had a lawnmower!!! Oh and Johhny Marr who played guitar....

  • In This Clip, From 0:28 To 1:23, It Was BBC-TV's BBC News' The 9 O'Clock News Video Open From Friday Night, November 20, 1987.

  • THE Debbie Thrower--Before she went to TelevisonSouth in the 80s?

    omg.

  • The Nine O' Clock News title sequence seen in this video was used from September 1985 to October 1988 so this is 1987 and not 1989

  • Thank You. I am aware of this from previous comments. I'll change the year.

  • Now i know it. It's Arthur Scargill.

  • Does she say Arthur Skargill at 1:08, or what?

  • Look, Martyn has a flower on his jacket :D

  • I think this has to be Friday 20th November 1987.

  • MAtyn Lewis = LEGEND.

  • What has happened to the picture? It was wide before.

  • This can't be 1989. These titles lasted till 31st October 1988.

  • Announcer is Roger Maude.

  • -and this is The 9 o'clock News with Martin Lewis? and Debbie T???ler. ????

  • it's Debbie Thrower, now presenting Meridian Tonight.
