I hate and love you for what you have done, two of Rush's members families survived this, sorta hence the song. I only watched the first 3 episodes, and i gotta say i don't like it. the only good things I can say is its imagery, scenery and acting, but the story sucks, character development sucks, you feel a lack of orientation to whats going on with the rest of the war, too much and overblown fighting and suffering/acting, and too unrealistic most of the time.
And to be truthful, I never associated this song with the Holocaust. I always thought it more futuristic, but I applaud this video, it reminds us of what could be...

For all of the great albums Rush has put out, Grace Under Pressure is my all-time favorite. Dark, gloomy, synth-heavy and without any radio-ready hits, non-the-less, I consider it to be their most utterly solid release - not a dud in the bunch. I played the shit out of this album in the 80's as a teen and still consider it today to be one of the very few flawless albums I have ever heard. Thank you, Rush, for putting out an album that I not only consider perfect, but got me thru some tough times

I don't know if they were part of any platoon or battalion that liberated any concentration camp, but I'm glad, honored, and proud that they, my great uncles, served during WWII. They as well as every single person who has ever served this great country proudly and with honor has my eternal respect, gratitude, and love.

I remember seeing this episode when it came out. It was hard to watch then, but with RSA playing its even harder... Its impossible to believe that Human Beings can do this to each other. The best part of this episode was watching the german citizens work in the camp and have to acknowledge it. Not sure why I felt good about that.

Great song from a great album. Rush really know how to put out top records. I've got Grace Under Pressure on LP only. I should get off my arse and buy the CD. This clip is quite outstanding. Listening to the LP, I never grasped that this song alluded to the Holocaust. The song now has much more resonance because of this film clip. And it makes me sad...
Me and my father used to watch these he served in WW2. This episode specifically reminded him of the war. He was on what he refered to as Clean up duty. Helping those left in concentration camps and burying the dead. Sad people can come to this kind of horror. EdisKrad73 Great Video.

Recently finished watching this series again on DVD.
It's hard to watch this episode (why we fight) with a dry eye.
Can't wait to see episode 1 of the new 'The Pacific' series starting tonight on HBO from the creators of Band of Brothers. Looks like it will be a good series also.

The SS would have slaughtered them you either supported the government or died period that was the situation those citizens were in. I was born and raised in Italy, which was born a free nation and it's very free now, but when Mussolini took over with the use of force (he wasnt elected popularly like Hitler), many Italians rebelled any way they could: as soon as he started enforcing the "Racial Laws" against non-white and Jewish residents in Italy, obviously also thanks to the allied help, Italians were the ones who took care of their dictator. I had a couple of great uncles on my dad's side fight in WWII. I don't know if they were part of any platoon or battalion that liberated any concentration camp, but I'm glad, honored, and proud that they, my great uncles, served during WWII. They as well as every single person who has ever served this great country proudly and with honor has my eternal respect, gratitude, and love.
To those who served, to those who are serving now, and to those who will serve in the future, thank you.

You know... lf we'd have been merciful to the nazis during World War 2, this would've continued and more people would've suffered and died.
The Russians showed no mercy when they torched half of Germany, and that's part of the reason we won. We need to fight, kill and destroy those who want to kill us and commit acts of genocide. ln a war like that, you show absolutely no mercy.

He took his own life when he saw about a million angry soviets burning down Berlin. Although l don't think what he did could be justified, he was a genius at war. He invented and perfected the blitzkrieg, and even managed to conquer France in a record of 20 minutes.
Things like genocide are terrible but also apart of human nature. lt's just something that we need to prevent as much as possible.

If he said that he would've been an untrustful leader. Plus he lead germany without even being born there i tho that was incredible. He was insane. Germany had just recovered from their loss in World War 1 and he decided to go on a path of conquest instead of doing what was right for his people..
He could've done great things and led his people to peace and glory. lnstead he decided to go to war with the world and kill millions of innocent people.
And yeah, for a foreigner to become the leader of Germany is pretty amazing. He could've done great things.

I remember seeing this episode when it came out. It was hard to watch then, but with RSA playing its even harder... Its impossible to believe that Human Beings can do this to each other. The best part of this episode was watching the german citizens work in the camp and have to acknowledge it. Not sure why I felt good about that.

it is referencing the holocaust, since geddy lee's parents were holocaust survivors. In fact his mom was in auchwitz and his father was in bergen belsen. he said in an article thati read that he used to listen to his mother talk about how she gave up on humanity while she was in the camps.

Powerhouse piece of work. Something straight from Geddy's heart as he is from a long line of Polish Jews. His real name is 'Gary', but his grandmother's heavy Polish accent made it sound like she was calling him 'Geddy'. Rush is the most highly skilled 3 piece band in the world. They simply can "put it all together". From the hard rocker to the surrealism seeker to the lyrically driven psychological tripmaster they can play to all of them. No one compares with Rush, period.

Great song from a great album. Rush really know how to put out top records. I've got Grace Under Pressure on LP only. I should get off my arse and buy the CD. This clip is quite outstanding. Listening to the LP, I never grasped that this song alluded to the Holocaust. The song now has much more resonance because of this film clip. And it makes me sad...

Me and my father used to watch these he served in WW2. This episode specifically reminded him of the war. He was on what he refered to as Clean up duty. Helping those left in concentration camps and burying the dead. Sad people can come to this kind of horror. EdisKrad73 Great Video.
