I was a teen during the 90's so this show brings backs memories. I used to going around singing And dance by the light of the moon.The one thing I always loved about MSCL was that nobody seemed like an actor/actress reading from a script, it was more like a camera following around real high school kids, and they looked like real high school kids. The parents act like real parents, these people were yourself or someone you knew. I think this is the most realistic show about high school to date

I found this on Netflix and watched it and I got really into it. Such a good show! It's so realistic and like, not cheesy at all. Even tho I'm just 16 now, I can still relate to what Angela thinks about things. They should make more shows like this. My fav episode is "the substitute"

I love this show! I love how Catalano takes on importance although his brain obviously does not contain much more than the natural sex appeal stupid yet beautiful teenagers can get. He just embodies what preadult fascination means.

I miss those days and the reactions on the faces off all the stuck up jerks at my school. xD My parents were not cool with it!! More than what they would have been though... I just missed MSCL by about 2 years because I was born in the late 90s rather than the early, so I don't feel too privileged in that respect, but MY GOSH. You guys out there are so lucky to have grown up with this show. It actually shows you REALISTIC teenage life, rather than filling brains with rubbish about sticking on a blonde wig and becoming Hannah Alabama or whatever she's called. I hate how TV channels have canceled slightly more controversial shows just to be replaced with fake nonsense

I first watched this show around the time when it was new ( we had a bit of delay before it got to my country) I was quite young - but I still really liked the show. Looking back at it now, I wasn't quite old enough for all of it to be completely understandable/relatable at the time (I wasn't in high school yet). Now I look back - its more grown up than I thought it was - and so, so honest with teenage thoughts! The bit with the father was a bit creepy tho.

@whataboutredlorry I think you misunderstand the dad. It's not creepy, it's a normal stage of parenting. Your child, the baby that you held in your arms, the toddler the used to climb into your lap and fall asleep is, one day, this fully fledged grown up. The period that happens can be unsettling. You're not sure what's appropriate anymore. Just a few years previous you would bathe her but now she's a young lady. I remember when my dad went through that stage. It was sad but it wasn't creepy.

Best show of its kind ever, IMO! It's a genre in itself.

As I discovered it (I was 24), on a cable channel in France with French subtitles back in 1998 (I still needed the subtitles at that time to get the precise meaning), I got immediately captured by Claire Danes, nothing like love, only admiration for her talent enhanced by a fantastic crew of actors. It might take 20 years before something so realistic, touching, with such a quality in writing, filming and acting is produced. Thank you!

I know Angela was the main star of this series but she is also responsible for this series coming to an end, without going for the second season.

I liked Jared better, I thought his sultry good lookes contributed greatly to this series even though it was Angela who won a Golden Globe award, for this series. I was disppointed as I would have liked him to win an award as well. His acting too, was good.
