These days our mate Chris enjoys trolling Moffat on Twitter...wish they'd just agree to work together, it would be nice for the old and the new to help forge a balanced product
Here's an example of someone with a place in the anals of Doctor Who who is outspoken about many things but gives a clear reason behind every view of his when asked for one. Unlike mr. egotist RTD or bitter bitch Janet Fielding or self obssessed absentee father Tom Baker. As good as David Tennent is, hopefully with the hindsight of seeing Matt Smith, the characterisation he had to perform was woefully inconsistent.
yes Chris, after the first draf you get rid of all the stupid stuff that does not work. Like bringing the TARDIS underwater and opening the door the flush out the master. Or you could keep that in because you can. Just like RTD.
@firstborn1988gorsaga Oh fuck off, Doctor Who, by your logic, stopped being Dr Who when Hartnell left, the reality is the show has always been about change and reinevention, and it's now more of a success than ever, it's obviously doing something right, but chav fans like you arent satisfied unless Who is operating on a 50p budget with hammy actors and wobbly sets. The show was a dinosaur before RTD came in and revolutionanized it, stop being jealous and ADMIT when you're beat
Ah yes Stupid Russell for making Doctor Who entertaining, I mean having the Doctor make a joke, WHAT WERE THEY THINKING! I prefer my Who episodes to be scientifically accurate, and do nothing else than teach me Maths. Thank you Christopher Homo Bidmead! I blame George Lucas for this monstrosity we have today!
@rocketboom324 FAIL. The joke isn't funny & it raises questions like: how come all his predecessors & successors don't northern accents? The Dr. in the original DID have a sense of humour, U should watch it sometime. Nu-hu is cartoony with sexual references. You call that entertainment? R U both 5 as well as 15 years old to enjoy the childishness as well as the overtly sexual stuff? It's a pitiful excuse for entertainment, if RTD wanted 2 write a soap he should write Coronation Street not DW!
A lot of the stuff he's saying is not untrue, as much as people might not like it, I suppose the nature of a 45 minute show and 4 episode 30 minute stories are always going have different emphasis.
@manmonkee During the sixth Doctor a lot if not all of his scendish season episodes were 45 mints, making every story a two parter. A lot of Nu-hu does this as well. So you can't use the amount of time as an excuse.
I love Logopolis, being a bit of a mathematics major, but even I wouldnt have made some episode about Scrabble Tom's swansong. Whatever happened to that big tease of Gallifrey in season 19?

No, he's a "pro"... Really, saying that RTD's scripts are first drafts? because he can see it on the screen? wow, the arrogance is dripping off the walls in my room, where this is playing... oh my goodness!
Me smells bitterness at not being invited to write for the new series, now it's a bloody great big hit again, unlike when he wrote it. It wasnt exactly the hottest thing on TV at that point already.
@hcvang When Chris. H. Bidmead was writing for DW they doubled their audience figures, without having to bring back the Daleks EVERY season. He's a script editor aka a professional script writer, he knows a first draft when he sees it on TV. Even RTD would disagree with you, RTD only hires hacks who are even worse than him. Chris B. invented the cloister bell, which they still use today & if he hadn't jettisoned the 0-room, they prob would have that invention of his in nu-hu as well.
Tee hee. You know, I don't agree with Bidmead a lot of the time - he slags off the Williams era, too, which is my favourite - but it's still nice to see someone 'professional' going on record with stuff that a lot of fans have been saying for a while. Makes a change from the usual brownnosing, anyway, you must admit.

Chris Bidmead is one of the best writers to have worked on the show in my opinion.

@zufgh I agree! If you want to see something that points out all the flaws in the new series of Dr. Who, then check out my vids!
