  • The exercise which is single-handedly responsible for more rotator cuff injuries than basketball pickup games and heavy infants combined. Are you really still living in the 1960s, where coaches encouraged their athletes to just whip around the weights with no regard for human life, much less your precious shoulder sockets? Unless you happen to be married to a surgeon that can repair your RC and AC joints anytime you like. There are far more effective means of hitting shoulders (including cables)

  • Do the rear delts get hit by this exercise?

  • this guys jacked

  • I thought upright rows were a bodybuilding no-no because it's too easy to get hurt with them?

  • Can the bar be brought to the upper pec line instead of the chin ?

  • Does this only work the front delt and traps or does it hit the middle delt as well?

  • @TheNyghtShyft closer grip will hit the traps and upper back, wider grip (not to wide theough) hits the front and side delts

  • these videos are great, thanks for the explanations

  • Thanks man!

  • I can't lift my elbows higher than my shoulders, it hurts quite a bit (my spotter can go very high just like this guy), so I only do light weights for this exercise, and stick with the many other shoulder exercises, like military press and lateral raises.

  • That must hurt man

  • I've heard close grip rows make rotator cuff injury more likely. I always use a wide grip.

  • Narrower hits the traps more, wider hits the delts and biceps more.

  • @celconicuzn traps: Personal belongings; baggage:)

  • wide or narrow grip for deltoid size?

  • thanks so much. very helpful to make sure were doing it correctly!
