Senator Landrieu has taken BP campaign contributions and is pushing for the oil companies. What if another one of these rigs blows after she requests the rigs to reopened. The money lost to the fishermens and localy economy is 100x what is lost to oil rigs.

It isn't just energy we get from oil. Look around your house, if you see something that isn't made of wood or metal, chances are it was made from oil. Almost all plastics are oil-based, including a good portion of the computer I'm using to post this. Our current lifestyle is completely dependent on oil. So until we find a good substitute, they're right-we need oil. But even so, I'm not worried about that right now, I just want the hole plugged and the Gulf cleaned up. Worry about energy later.

the white house is the venue to actually run a war room from. Nobody would turn down a call from the white house if called on to provide expertise, crews, equipment, manufacturers, various agencies, sign offs, coast guard, corp of engineers, interior dept., etc. right now all of those are bumpinginto each other with no single source of leadership to coordinate and delegate while the gulf, the coast, and the wetlands die. obama needs to understand what it means to be president, not politician.

Those people need to find new green jobs, the oil that comes from the rigs in the gulf does not make it to the usa , it goes on a global market and is sold to the highest bidder ...it may or may not ...BP is responsible for the wages lost for the workers...We need a new CCC in the country building windmills , nuclear plants , and solar panels , the oil workers should be first in line ..
