This is clearly the very best rendition going and I have a lot of years behind me to credit that claim as valid. Baillie has a beautiful, clear, on key vocal talent that none can top and I'm grateful I was able to hear it once again. Thanks for the post.
She got a beautiful voice and a very good song the way she sang it was excellent, I love this song very much. Thanks a lot for posting this song. God bless!
I saw her do this on TV on one of her rare appearances on The Grand Ole Opry, and the crowd was smitten with her....when she hits that chorus and the great closing long note...its a rare little gem few people today will ever hear...more's the pity.
I remember this song very well. I was on my way to Desert Storm, and it was very comforting to hear the lead singer, Kathy Baillie. What a beautiful voice! I have tried to find this song, but apparently it's out of print. Thanks for posting this.
I remember this from back in the 80's You know, this is a great song. And this group did a good job with this....it is just a shame that they could not come up with any original music of their own that was good. And now their gone!
@tommy1620 No good original music from Baillie & The Boys? I have to assume this is the first song you have ever heard from them. Listen to their original songs 'Oh Heart', or 'This Is Where I Came In', or 'Wilder Days', all on youtube. How could you not like those songs?
Thanks for getting back to me regarding my question so fast! You know, the record company should realize that there are lots of people who really love Robin Lee's version of Black Velvet and some may even want to buy her CD's after listening to her sing again. Plus, I'm sure there would be new fans once they hear Robin's version of the song, especially after they search the song in general. I've discovered a few new singers this way. I hope they change their minds one day.
@trueosmondfan Robin Lee's version of 'Black Velvet' is AWESOME! The stupid idiots at the Warner Music Group which includes Robin's label, Atlantic Records, won't allow the song to be heard anywhere on the internet, and the song is long out of print and you can't even BUY a download of the song! THOSE MORONS!
Thank you to the one who provided this great version of the song Now and Then There's A Fool Such As I. It's my favorite rendition of this classic song. I just wish I could find Black Velvet by Robin Lee. She also had the best version of the song Black Velvet.

@tommy1620 You obviously haven't listened to any of their other music. They had many GREAT hits.... and they were songwriters for pete's sake. :-)
