the military wont wont buy in to that, way to loud. keep in mind u gotta put basic armor protection, weapons and by the looks of it, it looks very unstable going at high speeds.
cabon fiber boat? that'll be nice and affordable. also, it'll be nice to be inside of that stuffy little cabin. why would i want to go boating to enjoy being outdoors?
@believestudio Экраноплан парит над любой гладкой поверхности, общего с этой лодкой я не нахожу, причем парит на высоте от полуметра до двух (расстояние на котором действует экранный эффект).

got news for danco... just ran beam-to surprise 4' rollers off mouth of open gulf yesterday at near 80mph on those nitrogen filled accumulators. i have doubts I'd be here writting this if it wasn't for those accumulator tanks you think are jokes... joke's on you mr danco.
build a 'regular' wig vehicle? You're not getting the idea here. Wigs cannot turn quick enough to safely maneuver on two dimensional sea surface. SeaPhantom carves. Pure wigs cannot be built heavy enough to not disintegrate on 100+mph wave impact. Pure wigs have no reliable way to avoid the random seventh wave that is 50% higher than average. SeaPhantom solved these wig killer problems. Seaphantom is boat. Wigs are aircraft. My question is why bother with the wig?
#1 news chick is hot, #2 I wonder if anyone has ever thought of combining hydrofoils and ground effect, #3 I wonder if you could put bigger wings on it that could fold in for motor power, and unfold to use like sails
When ground effect vehicles have been created and so has the hydorfoil, I don't know why everyone is crapping a brick over it. Its like the dumbed down version of a hydrofoil
reply to: "... dumbed down version of a hydrofoil?" Its the hydro-foil lacking in the smarts department. SeaPhantom System responds to a variable sea-state by riding up and over wave crests. I could just see Mr Magoo in his 'rock-steady-ahead' hydro-foil slamming straight smack into that random wave face as SeaPhantom rises up and flies right over on its truely unique shock-dampened foil system. The conventional hydro-foil gets pancaked in too-big, open ocean, swells. Too steady. No give.
Third-Generation 'Variable-Geometry Surface-Foils' (attached to underside of lifting-body airfoil)are equiped with nitrogen-filled accumulator tanks. These provide for 'Baja'racer-like suspension travel. Actually, one of the craft's minir features. The foil system also provides for aircraft-type bank-turn capability.
Those who state its stealing? Its not its advancement evolution! if other people didn't take pinciples and improve on them then where would technology be! In anycase it appears that the craft works on a partial ground effect principle as the propulsion is in the water hence there is still water contact(unlike most air propelled ground effect craft, Which is the clever part as water has much higher friction, thus making a propeller more efficient under water than in air.
Steal? Certainly not... Been feasible for nearly half a Century. Many examples. Just because something can be done. Doesn't mean it should. no economic reason for these things to exist. If one is going to build a craft as complicated, and as complex to manufacture as an aircraft...why not just build the airplane? SeaPhantom is a different story...HAS a reason to exist. Its as cheap to build as an offshore powerboat... but as fast as a helicopter (for maritime patrol/control/transport).
Looks to me to be an exercise in futility!

do you think if i write V10 on my old truck and then dont drive it or video it people would believe that it can fly.
what a load of crap epic FAIL!

looks more like a "wig" than a hydro just with an outboard instead of an air prop that is why it is so far out the back

it is a hydrofoil. the design has been around for decades but never caught on.

LOL russian has build like this in 1950 . . .
try to search ekranoplan. (its russian secret warfare ship).
weight more than 14.400 tons. . . and its can lift from the water
believestudio 3 years ago 6
the ekranoplan was a totally different stuff.
this is a motorboat with a strange design, the ekranoplan was more an aircraft.
then i remember that the ekranoplans was built in the late 70s, or are i´m wrong?

Watch for SeaPhantom on Discovery Channel Network. And headlining a prime-time special called 'FutureShip' on CBS network starting september '08.
To be re-broadcast in 82 countries in unknown number of translations before maybe 100 million viewers.

"nitrogen-filled accumulator tanks. These provide for 'Baja'racer-like suspension travel. " What a joke!!!
This thing will self destruct when it hits the first 4 footer at speed.
Wanna go fast on water. Get a 28ft Douglas Skater with twin 280's.
Bout half the price and way more durable.

What is the 'truly unique shock dampening system?' as far as I can see it still has a hull, and its rear is still in the water.
