George was an interesting sum of parts. He was very spiritual, but look how much fun he's having here. He had his struggles with his human frailties, but he knew what he liked and he kept his faith. John wound up rejecting the philosophy herein, because he rejected God as a force for good and decided radical left politics was the answer. I think George was on the right track; the philosophy herein was closer to the truth.

there is no other band like this, no band has had as much fans or at least people that know about them as any band EVER. the beatles are the best band ever
@BCONN96 the beatles are the best band, yes. but it's not important how much fans they have now, it's just important, that we can still listen to their music. having much fans doesn't mean the music is good. only in this case. but i still don't care, and i'm not angry that queen is now the most popular band on the world, i just love the beatles and their music ;)
@jemmytaveras I fully support deleting nasty comments. I would ask that you consider those people are more likely redneck A&^^%s and not conservatives.
Considering that they had hung up their touring shoes by this time . . . it's cool to - AT LEAST - have this promo film of them lip-syncing a rock 'n' roll CLASSIC.
I find it funny that they're lipsyncing to what looks like Revolution 1 from the white album instead of this sped up version. Notice they're still singing 'Oh shoo be do wap" even though it's not in this version or how paul plays a bass line that only existed in Revolution 1.
@jemmytaveras It sends messages to the governments, yes. But does the government listen? Ask the millions of jobless people who have been waiting for a change, and I think the answer is no.
Revolution by John Lennon, he expressed his feelings about a "a Bloody Revolution" like Mexico, Czarist Russia, the French Revolution. which no one wants, we all loose. Join the WEB-OLUTION using the internet to wake up and unite People against the corporate elites, in a Peaceful revolution, evolution. Communism and the Berlin wall fell. @jemmytaveras No, avoid being in lockstep with anything or anyone. Think for yourself, don't be intimidated or coerced. Don't allow images of cool or not affect you. I'll vote the way I want and not for the incompetents in charge now. I am only worried that there is no competent people around at all anymore. We've become "Idiocracy."
@TheLunaParty The problem is that I can't see anyone or any comments that reflect any understanding of the real world. The destruction of "Wall Street" only means that there will be no economy at all, and the world would soon collapse into bloody anarchy. It might seem hip to say you're an anarchist, but it is not very smart or realistic. The song says, "We'd all love to see the plan, You say that it's the institution, better free your mind instead." Think, don't ape.
What I noticed about this video is 1) were John and George's mike turned off? 2) I thought I heard a keyboard - who is playing it? 3) The last word "allright" sung, John isn't near his microphone. What's up?
@ghighigirl - The music is not live. They are singing live vocals over prerecorded music, which explains the piano and the fact that sometimes you see both John and George in strum mode while the lead guitar is still playing. I suspect those "alright"s at the end were left on the tape with the music as well for John to mime, as that would have been very, very close to the extreme limit of his vocal range. Trying to hit the limit of your vocal range live can lead to embarrassing results.
apparently we are hardwired to hate each other no matter how caught up you are in your own illusion that pretends otherwise.
When I hear people talk pro social justice,anti racism,anti hate,pro this anti that,I am especially seeing hate,racism,injustice and hypocrisy like a neon clown in my pitch black room.
The only thing behind happiness is cold indifference ,how else does your bowl get filled and your enemies jailed or blown to bits.
ATTENTION all Beatles fans,On July 31st, we will be watching the music video Something repeatedly all day to boost it's view count up to at the least of 100,000,000 views. You don't even have to listen to it. You can just keep playing the video back to back all the way through without sound. We're doing this to compete with Justin Beibers garbage music videos & to make The Beatles be heard across Youtube. Copy& Paste this across all Beatles videos. Spread the word!
Now we can hear Beatles songs in a completely new and spiritual way. Search "Truth Contest" in Google and click the 1st result, then open The Present and read through the section about The Beatles. What it says about them and the hidden messages in their lyrics will change your perspective and open your perception to the magic and inspiration in their songs.
Rather than an album, Revolution and Hey Jude were realsed as singles on a .45, those small records. they were recorded for the white album i belive. Either way, BEST .45 EVER! Also, it looks like they were singing the album version, and the single version was dubbed in. Note Paul and George mouthing the "shoo-be-do-wop" bit.
@tamartin43 I believe the fast version was on the album Hey Jude. (Vinyl and Cassette Tape, but not CD's) jemmytaveras is right. You'll only find it on Past Masters
@tamartin43 - In the US the fast version was the B side of the single with "Hey Jude." It then appeared on "The Beatles Again," which is the actual name of the album that followed the white album and is more commonly known as "Hey Jude." Since then it has appeared on several compilation CDs.
As you likely already know, the official name of the white album is simply "The Beatles."
Of course, if you aren't in the US the albums were often different in other countries.
The Beatles Again Was Hey Jude! (The album was called Hey Jude but the original name that Capitol wanted was The Beatles Again), and it was released in 1970 right after The Beatles broke up NOT after the White Album.
Now its true, The White Album's name is "The Beatles" but since its release in 1968 it is commonly know as The White album a name accepted by Beatles Historians and the Beatles Themselves
@jemmytaveras - You can say I'm wrong, but the copy I have on vinyl says "The Beatles Again" on the spine and on the label. The only place it says "Hey Jude" is in the song list.
@TuberOnTheLoose - My copy was purchased as soon as it was released, although I never noticed that it said "The Beatles Again" on the spine until around '75 or '76 when I was looking for "Hey Jude" as I was searching through my albums in the record cabinet.
@tamartin43 The version on the White Album was the first one recorded, even though the single and faster version was released first. John wanted the White Album version released as as a single though both Paul and George weren't nearly as excited about this prospect claiming it was too slow (they were also leery due to its political nature). John was determined it would be a single so they recorded a faster version and it ended up as the flip side of "Hey Jude".
I forget, were they playing for BBC in this video, or...?

What I noticed about this video is 1) were John and George's mike turned off? 2) I thought I heard a keyboard - who is playing it? 3) The last word "allright" sung, John isn't near his microphone. What's up?
ghighigirl 5 months ago
@ghighigirl - The music is not live. They are singing live vocals over prerecorded music, which explains the piano and the fact that sometimes you see both John and George in strum mode while the lead guitar is still playing. I suspect those "alright"s at the end were left on the tape with the music as well for John to mime, as that would have been very, very close to the extreme limit of his vocal range. Trying to hit the limit of your vocal range live can lead to embarrassing results.

Hey Paul is playing his first Hofner bass with the pickups closer together. He usually plays the other one.

Some one should take the intro from this version and tack it on to the mellow version just to fuck with peoples minds, lol
but do it seamlessly.

apparently we are hardwired to hate each other no matter how caught up you are in your own illusion that pretends otherwise.

Does anyone know why the version of this song is so slow on the White Album?
tamartin43 6 months ago 3
@tamartin43
'cause those are two different versions of the same song (it was John's Idea I think)
jemmytaveras 6 months ago
@jemmytaveras Thank you. Then which album is the faster version on?

@tamartin43

LanceGrey 5 months ago
@tamartin43 it's a single
TheHman314 5 months ago
@tamartin43 - In the US the fast version was the B side of the single with "Hey Jude." It then appeared on "The Beatles Again," which is the actual name of the album that followed the white album and is more commonly known as "Hey Jude." Since then it has appeared on several compilation CDs.
As you likely already know, the official name of the white album is simply "The Beatles."
Of course, if you aren't in the US the albums were often different in other countries.
TuberOnTheLoose 4 months ago
@TuberOnTheLoose WRONG!
The Beatles Again Was Hey Jude! (The album was called Hey Jude but the original name that Capitol wanted was The Beatles Again), and it was released in 1970 right after The Beatles broke up NOT after the White Album.
Now its true, The White Album's name is "The Beatles" but since its release in 1968 it is commonly know as The White album a name accepted by Beatles Historians and the Beatles Themselves
jemmytaveras 4 months ago
@jemmytaveras - You can say I'm wrong, but the copy I have on vinyl says "The Beatles Again" on the spine and on the label. The only place it says "Hey Jude" is in the song list.
TuberOnTheLoose 4 months ago
@TuberOnTheLoose
then you have a VERY rare copy!
jemmytaveras 4 months ago
@TuberOnTheLoose - My copy was purchased as soon as it was released, although I never noticed that it said "The Beatles Again" on the spine until around '75 or '76 when I was looking for "Hey Jude" as I was searching through my albums in the record cabinet.
TuberOnTheLoose 4 months ago
@tamartin43 The version on the White Album was the first one recorded, even though the single and faster version was released first. John wanted the White Album version released as as a single though both Paul and George weren't nearly as excited about this prospect claiming it was too slow (they were also leery due to its political nature). John was determined it would be a single so they recorded a faster version and it ended up as the flip side of "Hey Jude".
