I bought on today. I used a screw at the back to screw it on an old BRD gaming port steering wheel column. I wanted to hard mount it. It stopped working. The only thing that is still working are a couple of leds. It doesn't register in windows anymore. If using a screw in the mounting whole is the reason that it doesn't work, than Simraceway has to address this immediately.
Thank You, It took this video to confirm what I already suspected: No real (precise) control, and completely unsuited for a real driving sim such as Rfactor. When I first saw this wheel, I was hoping it was a bolt/add on. As soon as I saw it was an "In-Air" wheel, I knew it wouldnt be a contender. I have a hard time believing that the real world drivers that helped test this didnt proclaim it as "Just Stupid", esp. at $120. (I would not have put my professional name on this as a tester)
The target price should have been around $50. I can see already that the biggest problem with this is the effect its going to have on the people who HAVE spent hundreds on a great wheel and who now are going to have to deal with the "cheapies" crashing into them from the inside of a hairpin turn because they dont know what a precise turn (with no slide and perfect turn to speed ratio) will feel like. This is going to bring the wall bouncing NFS/GT drivers crashing the real sim track
"elbows rested on chair armrests" Yeah that's cool huh ? Driving and feeling like a vegetable glued to the chair. What about the excitement and the adrenaline ?
I like to drive with my arms more stretched. So I either change the way I usually play or I buy another wheel. Surely, this stuff isn't for me ...
Amazing wheel .. to bad it doesnt bolt directly to the g25 or g27. i dont really know who though this would be a good idea? i dare you to play more than 30 minutes. normally on rfactor i used to play 2 - 6 hours. so this wheel is .. a BAD IDEA!
I'm interested. I use to be, like so many others a hardcore simracer. This wheel looks very promising. Not having to have a rig to mount it on is what makes this wheel so interesting. About holding the wheel into the 'air' for several laps, is not an issue for me. You can always put your elbows on the armrest of your chair.
@cestmoi176 yes that is exactly what I do - elbows rested on chair armrests, race for hours no problems with the SRW-S1 wheel. It's easy to be skeptical about this wheel - I was before trying it too. It's made well, works well, plays well, no hassle to configure or store... very cool really, especially if you're desktop bound, and fit in your racing between other uses of the PC.
I know this is a hand held wheel, Would it be possible to mount it to a forcefeedback base? It looks the business. Would be really cool if you could mount it using a quick release mechanism of some sort. Would like to hear other peoples thoughts on this.
@HomeskooledVideo I wondered the same thing before I used the SRW-S1 wheel. Here’s the thing I discovered though – when both standing and sitting, the natural position when using the wheel _isn’t_ arms held straight (which would be something anybody could only do for a short time), but with arms bent (which is something you can do for hours). The controller (500 grams) is comfortable to hold or hours and stable too.Easy to forget it’s not attached to anything and just get on with driving
@rFactorhc the window is inverted (look at the keyboard, arrows and numpad are on the right side), so yes the wheels both turn in the same direction here
wow a expensive wii wheel.... nothiing beats the feel of my Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback Wheel USB :D (i would prefer the g25 if i ever would buy another one)

I just wasted €120.

About the wheel. Without force feedback has no sense for using it but has a very good response. Looks good but better if i can put it on my G27...

I want to know how the throttle and brake pedal work. Is is like a on/off switch of is it like pedals?
cestmoi176 3 months ago
@cestmoi176 the throttle and brake are progressive, like pedals.

It's a dumb idea. You might as well use a gamepad.

it will sale a LOT better if it's just a exchangeable wheel for G27. Similar stuff costs several hundred buds.

This is a racing game player from SK Gaming most ppl (like me) haven't heard of - since nobody cares about racing games... :P
