@VisualK3i94 Well yeah, I understand that. They aren't free into the wild but truth is, the very fact they are WHITE lions would be hindering to their survival. Normally albino animals have a low chance of survival due to sticking out dramatically which means they can't hid from prey nor rival hunters. The only places where albino animals are favored is in arctic freezing areas where lions aren't meant for.

That is one of the main reasons why they are so rare especially mainly at the wild.

@VisualK3i94 So the realization is, it's actually this reserve where they are in captivity that is even giving them a chance. It's just natural selection, we can't really do much for that except preserve them in this matter.

No, they are in zoos because zoos want to make money with them. The white lions live very well in the bush, though rarer than "yellow lion". They are found in South Africa in the wild, in the Transvaal.

That's not true at all. White lions can live in the bush ! They're from South Africa, and some of them live near Timbavati, Transvaal. The color is a recessif gene.

@chavadiaz23 since is a recessive gene, it depends. The mother is full recessive, for all three to be born with the recessive gene, that means the father has the gene as well.

@BlueDove1111 If these lions were being stuffed into small cages the way most circus animals are, THAT would be imprisonment. These lions have plenty of open space to romp and run in, and since these lions are white they have no way of camouflaging themselves in the wild which means they would be DEAD. Even normal colored lions are victims of poachers in the wild and I would rather see these beautiful animals in a sanctuary where they are protected from greedy hunters than be wiped out forever.
