Did you have to use a tuner to get the SWR down on the freqency you were transmitting on when the coil burnt? As far as I know, 1K+ is only the rating if you have a clean SWR without a tuner. If you are forced to use a tuner to tune a particular frequency on one of those antennas, you shouldn't run full power.
I don't have an amp, but i just bought a DX-EE and we'll have to see if I can manage to turn anything up with 100w... I probably will.
This is no the final way for yor antenna. you can CPR!!

TOO BAD this radio operator did not read the Alpha Delta instructions for his antenna!!
A Henry amplfier (> 1 kw) produce high voltages on the antenna -- that will be higher than insulation ratings of the ISO RES coil !
