I didn't like the song in 1968. I considered it too simplistic and it didn't say much except the yearning for a girl. How foolish I was. Those are the strengths of the song. I love it and just learned it. (That didn't take long, lol.)

This is a rare example of a live performance blowing away the original studio version. I never cared for this song until I heard this version. The strong vocals and great guitar solo here take this song to a new level. Tommy was one of those guys who actually got better with age.

The music is great but they need to trash the guitarist and bassist to find some people who can play with feeling rather than flash. this is a feeling song and the guitar solo should be that way sometimes less is more.
