I did some Fujian white crane kung fu (flying crane branch) and we was practicing something that look like this, especially for the forearm training. but the stance were different. I don't know much about Okinawa Shuri-te Karate but nice video, continue hard training =)
That's because Goju-Ryu is largely taken from Crane style gung-fu. It's one of the few karate systems that is still very good today, that trains hard for real life fighting situations as this demo shows, nice going guys.
As with nay contact training, you gradually build a higher pain thresh-hold/tolerance and strengthen the bones (more density through contact training). The key is to start slowly and build consistently.

Very nice, fellas. I train in Goju-ryu and we do a similar drill without the footwork and the arm conditioining is separate from the leg conditioning.

yes, it's wu zhu chuan/five ancestor fist: Our system is Okinawa Shuri-te karate & Wu Zhu Chuan kung fu.
