of course it works. its basic mechanical science/engineering hell they used very similar design back in the 19 century to expain on the run of old lifts. i cant believe that you would have to prove to anyone that it does work. they should have learned about this in 5th grade.

hmm.. I do believe that it works, but does the use of gears rather than smooth surface wheels affect it at all?

@steviewonder74CEA - It's just making the connection between the handheld rack bar and the gear rotation non-slip and obvious. Other videos showing the same thing were accused of having the cart slipping as pressure was applied - this makes it clear that the gear is not slipping in relation to the rack, and the (rubber) wheels are clearly not slipping on the floor.

@coolaun its pretty clear how the inner radius vs outer radius affects the movement ratios, in yours with the 1:2 ratio of the cotton reels it moved about double speed, but this one with the large wheels held together by a thin rod makes it move about 3-4 times as fast.
