Just a man trying to work. The security guard should not have left but called the police after the attack. The video just provides extra proof to what the people have done. They could have easily broken the guys arm. Anyone fancy a game of Chicken?
Union savages playing outside the rules again. Hard to garnish support for the workers when you see behavior like that, safety will always be an issue when you cavemen running around the workplace.
I hope the security guard lays charges for assault and a civil suit for damages to his car. I don't care what the protestors complaintss were about, there is no excuse for violence and willful damage. Disgraceful mob.
@AugerMartel I hope the security guard is charged for using a car as a weapon.... deliberately driving into a crowd is dangerous driving at the very least.... 3 month suspension.
@SlaktadOchStolt they did that when they stole his keys then that maniac in the red cap climbed in to bash him, also the union flag holders smashed up his car, he didn't hit anyone he moved his car forward about half a foot
@LibCon00 that's your interpretation of the situation, and we can bicker about the details for days. i don't care that much really and my stubborn support for the strikers remains.
Unions truly are vile creatures, why can't they respect the decision of some not to support their ridiculous demands? Why must they be so violent and thuggish? We are seeing a return to the bad old days when unions actually had power! This is what happens under a Labor government.
@cliffmahael2001 someone's brother/father/son DIED after being forced to clean a machine that was still operating. Decapitated........ All the union is asking for is government regulated (that means LAW) safety standards to be met and government decreed (that also means LAW) minimum wages to be met. Not a big ask surely
@soulmamma67 of course it isn't but this behavior is reprehensible, I'm a union member myself but if my union ran a picket and got violent I'd quit the union in a second. the picket line never ends well because bored idiots and true beliver unionites from head office thinking it's the winter palace storming of 1917 always get violent, and they don't have the right to stop other's not in their dispute from working, that's un-Australian and tyrannical
What are you anti-union cockroaches on about? These workers are standing up for their rights, to get treated properly at work, and for their work to be safe.
@leechjames Sure they could do that, but it wouldn't change the shitty conditions of the job, and would just mean someone else would come along and get treated like dirt. When people do what you suggest, all it does is diminish conditions for the next person, and the next person, and lets bosses get away with whatever they want.
They have the right to organise for just and fair conditions at work, and this is what they've done, and is the intelligent option.
@leechjames It has been my experience that most employers are like this. And most government departments (health inspectors, worksafe etc) will warn employers before coming, and find nothing wrong.... and complaints to fairwage is met with "we don't investigate"..... give me the unions any day..... and I refuse to work for scum.
What a prick, driving your car THROUGH the line? Good luck to the workers! Someone got decapitated there recently due to unsafe work conditions! No joke...
He made two mistakes, one he should have wound his window up after he got his keys back and two he should have reversed first then drove forward to get some momentum up before hitting the picket line.
any picketer dickhead does that shit to me and I'll run the fuckheads over!!!!

Typical Union behaviour, I don't see anything unusual.
As long as Australians keep supporting the Labor party - these incidents are here to stay.

I've been on plenty of pciket lines.
I never behaved like that. Nor did anyone else.
What scum those people are.

This is simply disgraceful. Australia should not be like this.

the picture clearly shows people standing in front of the car. Interesting that the TV crews should be there to film the "thuggery".

@soulmamma67 what about the guy who got into his car and started beating him? should get at least 6 months of custodial for being a violent thug
LibCon00 3 months ago
@LibCon00 Yeah you know it could be considered legitimate self defense to disarm another violent thug trying to run people over with his car.
