Mmmm, Y no questioning of obamas past and all his criminal activity in the white house? Solyndra, Fast and Furious Guns to Mexico? Lets talk about REAL hypocrisy! Y no stories on senator obama stealing taxpayer funds that were to be allocated for ghetto apartments in Chicago? Thats right, Barry the great and his friend Resko stole all the money and left those people in filth, rodent, roach invested buildings. Resko went to jail, Barry, u "useful idiots" put him in the white house. FOOLS!
I am not at all sure how this makes Rachel "effective." She attacked Aaron Schock and then whoever posted this cut off his response. Was that fair? I am not sure what his response would have been but it might be nice to hear both sides.
@JermzzzyFTW and the next time I want your opinion, I'll be sure to say, "HEY, JermzzzyFTW, please give me your contradictory bigoted opinion. THANKS! Smooches."
@jimbo525SE Yeah right, like anybody with a brain is going to take seriously anything from one of Rupert Murdoch's hundreds of far-right corporatist rags.
@yt5454 Oh yes and MSNBC is right down the middle now isn't it? Anyway its not really that important. Your main point is that conservatism appeals to stupid people. So stupid people believe that:
1. If you are smart enough to earn the money, than you are smart enough to spend it.
2. Taking money from those who have earned it and giving it away to poorer people without the consent of the one it was taken from is theft.
3. Private business that have to watch their bottom lines are run more efficiently than a government product that can always be further subsidized through taxes.
4. We already have a progressive tax system. Stop telling us to tax the rich. We did that years ago. (Insert argument about how the mega rich don't pay much in taxes) That isn't income tax territory. That is capital gains tax.
5. I don't want to give tax breaks to the poor. Less than 50% of the population even pays taxes. A large percent of the remainder actually get paid by the government. Do you really want a system where the minority supports the majority, where the majority can vote themselves money at no cost to themselves?
@jimbo525SE Thank you for the right-wing talking points. I've never heard them before. And they are so sensible! Simplistic common-sense wisdom that appeals to my reptilian brain stem so much that I never even have to think to enjoy them.
@jimbo525SE Despite what conservative commentators, I mean conmen, say, it can't be done in sound bites, or quickie blurbs. You'll have to do your own research. And you'll have to get sources besides Rush and Fox. Sorry, but that takes work on your part. There's no way around it.
Or you can keep living by the easy and simpleminded slogans you get from the corporate media. Your choice.
@jimbo525SE But just a couple REALLY short hints: 1, re cap gains tax. A busts his butt, makes $50k/yr. B inherited money, invests it wisely, makes $50k/yr. Why should A pay double the tax B does? The both contributed the same to the economy! I'll tell you why it happens - B owns the politicians! 2, cons always always always, ignore the benefit the rich receive from the public trough. They think they EARNED it all themselves! Well they didn't. They had lots of help from the rest of us.
@yt5454@yt5454 You would think that liberals would need to pass Econ 101 before they moved on to more challenging stuff though wouldn't you? I guarantee you, perform the same test with harder questions and conservatives and moderates would still dominate liberals. Also I have never ever listened to Rush. I have seen maybe 10-20 shows of Glenn Beck ever. My favorite political commentator is Bill Whittle. Most of my news comes from the evening news, realclearpolitics, and pjtv.
@jimbo525SE hmmmm......one last thing I forgot to mention. I have a lot of fun watching the MSNBC commentators and making fun of how many holes are in their arguments. I loved watching Ed brag about GMs fancy accounting. Great for a laugh.
@jimbo525SE Let me be more explicit: One can't learn economics by watching tv or listening to radio. It can't be done. Want a radio-taught surgeon or lawyer?
You want to learn, you have to work at it. Sitting idly listening to broadcasts won't cut the mustard. All it does is fill your head with tripe, and not just any tripe, but corporate-sponsored tripe.
And you know what that means - it means that what you think you know is exactly what they want you to think you know. No more, no less.
@yt5454 I've never claimed to learn econ by watching the news. I have taken both macro and micro econ in high school and college and have gotten an A every time. Actually it is by far the easiest subject I have ever taken. As for the questions on the survey, you don't really have to have studied econ at all. If you read the question and logically think about what would happen, youll get the right answer no supply and demand curves needed.
@yt5454 Are there any other assumptions you would like to make about my knowledge? Would you like to debate me on the merits of my views or are you just going to do the typical liberal thing and bash Rush and Glenn Beck. (btw most conservatives don't have time to watch/listen to either. They are just sick of looking at how much uncle sam takes out of their paycheck and how freely washington spends it on useless stuff. .
@jimbo525SE "are you just going to do the typical liberal thing" Fuck you. If that's all you've got to offer in response to what I have to say, just fuck you.

Why aren't more people doing this? Republicans get to go on TV and lie and nobody pulls them up on it! Well done Rachel we need to be told the truth!

The Republican Bigots would rather us fall into a depression then have to work with a Black President.
Why is the Media so afraid to acknowledge the fact the GOP is a party of white racists ?

That's because conservatism appeals to stupid people, and - largely because of republican cuts in education spending - most people are stupid.

@yt5454 Yes. That is why Liberals fail basic economics.
