  • A free giveaway of the signed picture of this sketch is being given away on a website. It won't let me put the url on here but if you google " THE PRIZEBOMB" its the first one that comes up! Hope i have been of some help!

  • can somebody explain the billhooks joke please?!

  • @shgfe3ay Try B*ll*cks it sounds like billhooks :)

  • Haha

  • Lol....Billhooks

  • Classic British comedy at its best

  • One of, if not the greatest sketch of all time! :)

  • gem

  • This is hallarios I love it 👍 wwwooohhhoooo

  • One of the best examples of the uses of the English language in this classic scene by these two comedy greats

  • I personally think this is very funny. but I respect the 73 people who perhaps think its just silly, either way I'm getting more and more pissed off with the self appointed Youtube "Taste Police" who feel they have to air some kind of sarcastic quip against the "dislikes" to a video. It's called an opinion and everyone is entitled to one.

  • This is hilarious!

  • 73 people dont have fork handles XD

  • HAHAHA fuckin' classic! X)

  • Comment removed

  • the moving and subsequent replacing of the ladder adds to the comedic effect nicely with corbett muttering under his breathe as he does it. and I swear at 2:07 when he looks away he is trying to keep a laugh in when big ronnies asks for saw tips! just classic stuff.

  • 73 people are a shop assistent

  • No fork handles

  • The Two Ronnies = The Two Legends Of Comedy!

  • U don't get shops like this anymore

  • "No, Os..."

  • Brilliant sketch ever

  • naahhh tins o' peas

  • Best Shop Ever!!

  • i dont get it

  • @plysea me either

  • @plysea then fuck off u dull cunt

  • @RichieBKingOfMc fuck you jew bag

  • @plysea basically the customer keeps saying what he wants and the assistant keeps getting the wrong thing cos the item sounds like something else. It is hilarious. xx got it?? xx lol

  • @AshleyXSian o yer thx

  • @AshleyXSian Specifically, part of the joke is making fun of colloquial pronunciation; for example when he drops the 'h' in handles.

  • @plysea grow a brain then.

  • @RichardElden typical comment off this idiot, and washed away by public opinion

  • RIP Ronnie B!

  • @ggeb1956 - I think this is a sketch from the series "The Two Ronnies".

    Classic!!

  • Can anyone tell me which series is this from as my uncle would like this on DVD

    Ta

  • @ggeb1956 Series 5.

  • I love this clip, Its 1 of my pops favourities found out at the begining of the week he has a few days left till he passes, been trying to find a download, so he can enjoy it 1 last time. But im getting nowhere any suggestions pls,

  • That cracks me up

  • Best sketch ever fork handles

  • how did they ever managed to film this. must have taken HOURS. so funny.

  • This is the best comedy sketch EVER, they don't come any better even after all these years.

  • Got any hoes !! Lol Classic physical comedy, there is always something NEW to notice!

  • Not many comedians can be this funny these days without swearing and generally being rude - I like both styles, but admire the old guys. They had style:)

  • Classy.

  • the laughs are so anoying xD

  • @8765425676543 at least in those days they had a live audience :)

  • What is there to not get? The majority of the things in it are everyday items. It was made before I was born and I understand it perfectly.

  • This is so dated. I'm not saying it's bad, I just didn't get most of this. :/

  • lmao sore tips lol

  • Always loved this!

  • love these guys, could listen to them all day, but I have to work!

  • never ever will something so funny come along like this pure gold

  • how has this got dislikes?! this is one of the greatest sketches ever made!

  • This sketch is based on a shop called Harringtons, in Broadstairs, Kent. It looks just like the sketch and sells everytthing you can think of.

  • Comment removed

  • What kind of shop sells food, garden equipment and shoes lol.

  • @postyj A hardware store used to sell all of those things

  • In a later show, Ronnie Barker confessed that the ending was very weak. In the time that had passed since that sketch, he'd come up with the perfect ending. Instead of a man, a very healthy and well endowed woman comes out to serve the customer at the end. Instead of the clerk reading the list, the customer asks for knockers.

  • @dncarac Yes sadly the ending is a bit weak ----- the ending that Ronnie wanted would have brought the house down!

  • @dncarac I quote from The Two Ronnies sketchbook (copyright Ebury Press 2003):

RC: ...(calls through door) Elsie! Come and serve this customer - I've had enough!

[RC stalks off. Elsie enters - a big, slovenly woman with a very large bosom. She takes the list. Reads it.]

Elsie: Right, sir - what sort of knockers are you looking for?

    :D :D :D

  • One of the best sketches from the Two Ronnies. Classic

  • Może by to ktoś przetłumaczył na polski bo nic nie rozumiem.

  • @cienkibolek123 nie sądzę, te żarty mogą być tłumaczone. wszystkie są kalambury

  • LOL LEGENDS

  • stil so funny , not dated at all

  • Ronnie Barker loved playing with the English Language, thats why theres so many genius sketches like this

  • you can see ronnie corbett getting more and more annoyed. classic

  • class LOL !

  • dont do the like that anymore :)

  • Comment removed

  • Mon repose!!!!

  • If it ended at the "no, handles for forks. Fork handles" punchline, it would surely be the best sketch in the history of chuckles. Nothing else is needed; the rest spoils it a bit.

  • @sulijoo Fucking hell, then sketch would be about 30 second long. Fork handles is the first thing he asked for. Then we would miss out on the Hoes, 13 amp plug, peas etc etc

  • Bill hooks are like small scythes used for trimming hedges. They also sound like the vernacular for a gentlemen's testicles (bol**ks). Hence the joke!

  • @pacmandem the guys name is Bill Hooks

  • Could someone please explain the "Billhooks" part?

  • @pacmandem say billhooks in his accent it sounds like ballocks ol

  • @pacmandem I think the shopkeeper misread it as "Bollocks"!

  • Brilliant!!!.........what a classic

  • One of the classic comedy sketches of all time. Priceless!!

  • the best comedy was made in the 70's and 80's.

  • The little fellers growing annoyance at the customer is fantastic lol.

  • you misspelled four candles in the video name :D

  • @xDeadmauZx Actually, the sketch is called "Fork Handles"

  • I saw a candle shop in Yorkshire with a sign in the window...

"Any one coming in and asking for Four Candles, Fork Handles, or Handles for Forks, will be melted down and made into Ronnie Corbet!"

I suppose they get alot of it...

  • classic

  • i find it so annoying that i having been brought up with a two ronnies enthusiastic family (grandad and sister) that i cant relate at school as they are brought up with the new crap. and as much as i enjoy that, i really like the oldies

  • @Matty09Magic Completely agree 100%. I couldn't relate to anyone at my school or college for the exact same reason.

  • you having me on?

  • he should have asked for handles for forks

  • this sis comedy at its' best

  • I particularly love the way they take their time about this sketch. These days it would be rushed and would be ruined as a result.

  • as an overseas student in the UK, I still don't understand what they're talking about, but it still make me laugh

  • billhooks???? explain PLEASE?!

  • @boxersforever3 My guess has always been that the list had the word "bollocks" written on it. (Drop the "h" out of "bill hooks" and the two sound vaguely similar). Hard to imagine now, but "bollocks" would have been the height of bad language if used on TV in the 70s.

  • @Ruskellnw1 ive always assumed, and i may be wrong, that it was pillock (as an insult), being a joke that they sound simalar, but now bollocks sounds more likely

  • @Ruskellnw1 mines pillocks as in what a bunch of pillocks

  • Rubber Bathtoom plugs - What size? - 13Amp lol

  • @ewaf88 I only just got that lol

  • The chemistry between these 2 was amazing, and such a clever script.

Amongst modern comic duos only Harry & Paul and Mitchell & Webb make me laugh much, but Corbett & Barker were the tops.

  • I'm not actually that old, but I remember there being people who dressed and acted like this when I was a kid. My grandad was exactly like the customer, and I loved visiting the old stores full of antiquated post war tools and electronics.

Oh, and I remember the Two Ronnies. ;)

  • FANBLOODYTASTIC

  • how come everthing on the internet is an arguement, if you don't like it don't watch, personally I think it's hillarious

  • Also, how on earth have we gone from the 2 genius' of Ronnie Corbett and Ronnie Barker to fucking Lee Nelson?

A disgrace, but atleast we can always look past on the past.

  • @CapitalBhoy78 i think you mean back on the past

  • @CapitalBhoy78

You're so right. Ewen worse that Lee Nelson essentially came out 3-4 years too late, it just looks dated.

  • @CapitalBhoy78 hey i like lee nelson, he's just chavvy which is why u dislike him, no other reason

  • @PS3xMedia Also because he is incredibly unfunny, annoying, untalented and basically a twat.

  • @CapitalBhoy78 no, he is funny. his character is annoying dipshit, he obviously aint really like that is he.

your just an old beeey, angry at anything new

  • @PS3xMedia I couldn't care less if Lee Nelson is a great guy. I am judging him on his "comedy creation" and as you just said: "his character is annoying" so therefore I was correct with my comments i.e "annoying" (same word you used). An old beeey? I am 31 and I love modern stuff but if it is wrong to hate comedy like Lee Nelson, wrong to hate music like Justin Bieber, wrong to hate tv shows like The Cleveland show and wrong to hate women like "Jordan" then I don't want to be right.

  • @CapitalBhoy78 justin bieber is a queer, jordan would get it, cleveland show is pony. im sayin the lee nelson character annoys you, not me.

he is actualy funny but it doesnt appeal to you, so dont go round calling it shit if you aint the target audience

  • @CapitalBhoy78

Here, here, what a load o shite we have to watch nowadays...

  • the greatest moment of British comedy

  • It seems that the British are easily amused by the sight of a shortarse needing to use a ladder to reach a high shelf. How strange.

  • @ogrejd I'm sorry, but your comment was strange and disrespectful of Ronnie Corbett.

  • @ireland1953 Considering that Corbett frequently made fun of his own height, I doubt he'd object too much to the characterization. Plus, listen to the laugh track. Given that it kicks in when all he's doing is placing and climbing the ladder (without making any sort of a show about it beyond exasperation at having to go up a second time), my previous comment is a logical deduction.

  • @ogrejd they're laughing at the fact he has to go back up the ladder to....ah forget it

  • @ogrejd You just stick with One and a Half Men, bud.

  • @ogrejd Coming from your country I would keep quiet about comedy, you havent got a fucking clue.

  • lol

  • I lover Ronnie Barker, but I really think that Ronnie Corbett makes this sketch amazingly good with his pissed off 'ur taking the piss' looks and reactions in this

  • pure class comedy

  • 66 people have no idea what classic comedy is

  • 66 people have no humour!

  • No, O's!!

  • I've seen this sketch so many times and yet it still reduces me to tears every time!

  • if you know british comedy then like.

  • thank god for modern self service

  • its funny but does dragg after a minute

  • 66 people wanted four candles instead of handles for forks!

  • I`ve watched this s omany times.

Actually Ronnie C`s part was harder. Ronnie B just had to be deadpan. Ronnie C had to act extremely irritated (without laughing!)

  • the best ever sketch of comedy ever , fantastic fork handels

  • Laughed my ass off "what sise? 13 amp"

  • One of the greatest pieces of comedy of all time...

  • stuff all that racist crap. I do know i love the two Ronnies. fork handles. Yes four candles. you have to laugh.

  • Quality sketch

  • fucking funny class

  • brilliant comedy. two ronnies are legends!!

  • i have that foot pump lolz

  • That's Granville's coat, lol!

  • "Pillock" (i.e. an insult)\ suits the last one better than "Bollocks".

  • I knew of Monty Python, Fawlty Towers, Benny Hill, Black Adder, Black's Books, Little Britain and now this.

    Excellent word play sketch.

  • @snowdog03 little britain should never be mentioned in the likes of the afforementioned.........its a massive pile of unfunny shite.....go watch some alan partridge thats cringeing comedy, but fucking top drawer at the same time.

  • best sketch ever classic

  • 64 middle class marxists didn't like this.

    no black actors in it.

  • @duckgeezer I love this sketch but that is a stupid comment, I mean "no black actors in it", cmon now...

  • 64 people need a humour transplant lol

  • This would be so much funnier without the title.

  • apparantly ronnie barker cudnt think up a better endin, tried and tried, da day dey shot it a perfect endin came, wen ronie c gives da list, a beautiful busty woman comes out, looks at the list, looks at him, looksback at da list and say "right sir, how many knockers u want?"

  • Brilliant piece of comedy, the people who disliked it go watch cannon and ball you wasters :-)

  • dont u just hate awkward customers :D a british classic

  • Has any one got the best sketch ever that the 2 Ronnies did " the underground sketch.

Easily the funniest and most clever sketch ever written !!!!!! thanks ?

  • One of the best comedy clips ever! I'm glad I finally found this one, always puts a big smile on my face. Some of the older comedy sketches like this one are easily equal to those on the box these days. Cheers for the upload, really made my day.

  • Honeydew!

  • That's a very well-stocked shop...

  • lol

  • classic

  • I did'nt get the last one

  • @1clip4u Bollocks.

  • @TheSteelStallion LOL Thanks

  • I've worked in a hardware store before. The real funny part is just how accurate to real life this is!!!

  • I didn't quite get that last one, but god damn this is funny.

  • Like if You Know You're British When sent you here! :D

  • @Emzilleh I am English not British i aint no paki or muslim terrorist!

  • @iguanna41 maybe not but you're an ignorant racist who gives a bad name to English!

  • @iguanna41 If you're English, you're also British.

  • good god what a classic. also helps me realise when we think how thick and numbskull we have all got in 2011 it was the same then. its a cute play on language but also on pig ignorance..... best comedy sketch ever? probably next to dont tell him pike!

  • Best sketch ever

  • Who does a search for Two Ronnies-Fork Handles watches this and clicks the dislike button? Best comedy sketch ever. Got any Hoes?

  • i think this is " THE BEST SKETCH EVER" {FULLSTOP} ;~)

  • @JayRicci7891 I agree. Brilliant reverse of MPFC's "Cheese Shop" and "Dead Parrot" sketch where the customer gets frustrated with the shop clerk. It probably says interesting about the British humor mindset that miscommunication can be found in a retail establishment.

  • @Elric33239 OOPS! Sorry. I meant "It probably says something interesting about the British humor mindset that miscommunication can be found in a retail establishment.

I think John Cleese once mentioned something about that in an interview.

  • classic miscomprehension...English is full of homophones (words which sound the same but are very different)

  • Fantastic! Such brilliant writing! The Two Ronnies' facial reactions to each other are sublime.

  • Yea. I'm the 4,000th person to like this vid. :)

  • i thought it was Pillocks, not bollocks
