It was the All Army Shooting Competition, shooters were required to wear full uniform (as per AR670-1), kevlar/mich/ach, and vest/plate carrier (with IFAK and mag carriers), and holster throughout the entire competition-
That's too bad. I just shot at a Marine Corps division competition. Fun stuff. Luckily we didn't have to wear all that gear. During the competition we shot one handed - for qualification we shoot two handed.
A few tips, if you care for them:
-Use your left to pull up the flap, then right to draw.
-Carry the 92 safety off, hammer down if you can. Then, you only need to pull the trigger on the draw.
-Possibly squeeze the trigger as you draw to take up slack, by full presentation, the pull will be shorter.
-Try to drop your mag and reach for the loaded one simultaneously.
-Try using your left hand thumb for the slide release, I find it easier on some pistols.
