  • they should've had mike tyson ambush this tool instead. and by ambush i mean falcon punch in the balls.

  • Outfoxed is a documentary that settles this question affirmatively. I'm sorry it's longer than a youtube video. Fuck Fox.

  • you're a little JV..

    That's great...

  • People mad because Watters won't talk to some guy harassing him. I don't get people sometimes

  • Comment removed

  • Why didn't he just answer the question? He wouldn't appear nearly as defensive if he had just said no.

  • I would have just answered the question. No. Fox stories are not "made up." Unlike CNN who just did an hour-long pump up of Hussein's jobs bill, and call themselves the most trusted name in news.

  • Jesse Watters = Wanker

Fox News = Biased and Unfair

  • @AustralianAllTheWay your Australian watching american politics....go back to your Kangaroos Mate....and let the big boys battle it out here in the U.S....cuz politics is a battle in the U.S

  • I'm a Conservative but I find Watters to be unbearable. Seriously, you are not in high school or university anymore, speak like an adult for heaven's sake.

  • jesse watters is sooooo sexy...

  • you're a little JV... That's greaat!

  • Nice shoes, toolbag

  • haahah interviewers a geed

  • Watters destroyed this liberal clown.

  • @WhalePrintChinos actually, Watters looks incredibly uncomfortable and notice he licks his tongue a lot throughout the whole thing? Sign of dry mouth and/or a snake, the dry mouth means he's nervous and is very deceptive. Body language, look it up.

  • @WhalePrintChinos

By not addressing the question ?

  • they say the best part of having sex with jesse watters is the ruffies not wearing off.

  • wow that's embarrassing. you suck.

  • ahhhhhhhahahahahahaha

not so easy to ambush people, apparently

  • i guess jesse waters can "ambush" people all he wants, but when someone simply approaches him with a question, he refuses to answer anything.

    "bro, bro....." what a moron.

  • Ha Ha go Watters!!! The best thing he could have done is say nothing and show this fool up. "There is an anonymous source that used to work at Fox". I mean, this attempt by liberal dumbshits is real genius. They could have just said "my uncles dead cousins sisters brothers daughters grandchild told them. Good job thinkprogress, thats why you are so popular and believable

  • Go waters haha this was awesome!

  • why did cameraphone dude even post this? what an embarassment. watters owned the situation and i love how he basically invited him right on into the elevator to continue the futility...priceless.

  • Haha, what a fail on the "ambush" guys part. ahhhh that was good

  • Treating the cameraman like shit for being a fucking geed. TFM.

  • Im a big factor fan and FOX fan but I don't like the fact that Jesse didn't address the question. If he didn't know he should have said, I don't know.

  • who was the handsome guy at the1:50 mark? why wasn't he interviewed?

    BTW, the interviewer sucked

  • I watched Fox News for a bit around the same time everyone else did, when the military began attacking Iraq, because they had all those beautifully-framed shots of rockets flying through the air at night, and were the only network to have on-the-ground footage, because the pentagon realized they had Fox in their pocket. Fox is pure entertainment, calling them "journalism" or "news" is far more inaccurate than saying the same thing about Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert.

  • @myplaceintime ...before long I noticed that they were quoting nonconservative think tank The Heritage Foundation as the source of basically all of their statistics, despite the fact that Heritage has come out with tons of papers in the past promoting lying to the American people and generating false news stories for some "greater" purpose. But in reality, they all love the tangy zip of licking men's balls.

  • If Fox News can legally call themselves journalists I don't get why I can't call myself a doctor

  • @myplaceintime you cant call yourself a doctor because your a retard

  • Silly Thinkprogress, ambush journalism isn't for kids.

  • @TheShannon76 yeah, clearly this guy's ambushing etiquette is more important than the core question: is the most popular cable 'news' channel in the country a propaganda machine? (tip: the answer is yes.) Between a pundit who betrays guilt by inanely dithering when asked a straightforward question, and some guy ambushing said pundit with a camera phone, I think the former is much more questionable, don't you? I hope so.

  • Hey, US-citizens. Why don't you do it like the Agyptians? Meet in Washington and drive those corrupted politicans and FOX journalists out of your Capitol.

  • @BBQigniter *Egyptians

  • AWWW Look at the cute little blogger. Tell Soros to buy you a real camera.

  • Haha embarrassing.

  • Fox News, what else can you expect from a make believe news organization. They should be listed in the same category as TMZ and E network. Listening to these dimwits on Fox makes even a liberal like me wish for the old Reagan republicans.

  • That shows the problem: if someone is CRITICAL (not far left), people with a narrow minded drughead like Watters, can't even react like it should be in a democratic country. Populist politicians ARE a problem. If you try to be critical (no matter if socialist, liberalist, conservative etc.) reactions like these are a shame for democracy.

But hey. Poiticians have no idea about democracy if you ask them about it.

  • jesse watters knows that think progress is a joke of a liberal website and by not answering this question he does absolutely nothing to hurt his ratings or discredit fox news. lets see. I'll answer the TP question. "no, Fox News doesnt make stuff up." wow, now thats a top fucking headline story. get your dirty hippie hands off jesses blazer

  • Watters never even answered the question. A former Fox News employee admitted what everyone with an IQ over 80 already knows: That Fox News embraces the GOP and demonizes Democrats. Did Watters know this whistleblower?

  • "You seem nervous" "I'm not nervous" "Why are you fumbling with your words!" he seemed composed and slightly annoyed not nervous.

  • Jesse did not handle that very well. "weak camera phone" = YouTube video of him avoiding a valid question.

  • Oh Lord this man is a tool.

  • Wow, what a jerk

  • it's a shame all these liberal hippie socialist communists even exist.

  • @nickk0426 It's a shame that your brain capacity is that of a dog. Oh look, a squirrel!!

  • @nickk0426 I think the real shame is that the average american conservative doesn't even understand what liberalism, socialism, or communism are. Of all the issues with Fox News, the biggest seems to be that they are intentionally catering to people who have no desire to actually understand politics. It seems like proving that someone supports somewhat left leaning policies is far more important that actually examining the policies, and trying to determine whether or not they would be positive.

  • @compactdisk2 What??? I have desire to understand the politics, and I also dont know where you are getting this idea it sounds like you might be pulling it out of nowhere...just had to comment because that comment was kind of bizarre

  • ahahaha what a dick.

  • Comment removed

  • nice pink shirt homie

  • Letting a busch-league blogger know you are not worth his time is definitely a TFM.

  • bro bro bro bro bro bro bro bro bro. fucking christ i am in a fraternity and would never act like this huge tool bag. he is acting incredibly unprofessional.

  • @dakrusch Actually the man holding a camera phone to Mr. Watter's face is the one acting "incredibly unprofessional".

  • Jesse, you're an arrogant cock twat. Your arrogance is so incredibly transparent and your evasive answer is bullshit! Drop dead!

  • Both members of this exchange were behaving rudely. One showed up with an ill-prepared, vague question and and lousy equipment (he clearly expected no real answer, but was hoping to get some amusing gravy, which he got). The other responded in an unkind fashion. I don't know anything about these two guys, and my views on Fox News don't come into this. Really, though , is a reporter supposed to give interviews to any random person who walks up with a cell phone and a lame question?

  • @jed8929 @reddipageshouston What are you talking about? He approached the guy, he made it clear what his name was and who he represented. "Jesse Waters? Dave from Think Progress" and then into the question is perfectly fine. It happens all the time. It doesn't matter what equipment was used. Was the information being recorded? Did he ask a legit question at first without trying to provoke a debate? Jesse is a jerkoff.

  • @Debasedtothis He would have answered the question if it was a less of a joke organizational group coming up to him, I think he was just in aww of this guy and wanted to have some fun with how retarded he was

  • @harrisonbrown123 So if CNN walked up to him with their BIG CAMERA CREW and FANCY EQUIPTMENT and asked him if Fox News made up stories he would say, "Yes, of course!" ?

  • Ultimate douche

  • Nice blazer bro.

  • haven't seen such a scared twat in a while. all that fallacious "advice" shtick was him screaming that he's nervous and frozen.

that JV camera phone just raped ya, "bro".

  • I automatically win all arguments

  • Watch my blazer bro! Two camels in a tiny car!

  • Bwahahahahahahahahahaha Think progress got shot down as the lame ass libtard he is ! Gufahahahahaha !

  • Wow.... this guy was so ignorant! There's a difference between staying calm while someone is trying to grill you, and acting like an overgrown fratboy!

  • Watch the blazer, bro

  • Some idiot with a cell phone that 200 million people in the US also have starts asking lame questions you're supposed to answer. Ignoring the peon was the right move. A camera crew looks official and has production value and looks like it will be shown on television and not some lame blog.

  • 1bigbrother, do you say things that aren't fallacious?

  • Oh and here's a fun one.

Search youtube for, "FOX NEWS CAUGHT ALTERING NEWS FOOTAGE TO HELP MCCAIN".

  • Ok. So now my examples for some reason don't count?? Or is it that you just can't answer them? Not having time is not an excuse for not having an answer. Seems like nobody here can refute them. Does it really matter where the examples come from? They are examples and that's a fact. Not based on commentators, just facts.Guys, you can look this stuff up, it's not hard. There are certain things called FACTS.If I say, "the sun is hot" it doesn't matter what Kos, Fox, or anyone else says. It's a fact.

  • Bro.....you're a douchebag bro...

  • "You see that? [Media Matters] won't give us the [name]! And do you know why? Because they know that if they give us that [name], then we'll [sue] him!"

And that, my friends, is how a nondisclosure agreement works as far as journalism is concerned.

  • Nayyyy.... FOXNEWS is Legit! Just look at their talented panel of experts!

Geraldo Rivera- Al Capone remains dead while Geraldo comes back

    Ollie North- Remember Iran-Contra?

Mark Furman- The "Niggas" in the OJ Simpson Trial

Sarah Palin- Fmr Gov Failin that went bail'in

Dennis Miller- Lib turned Conserv intellectual funnyman

Dick Morris- Dem Prostitute lover turned GOP and NEVER made a right prediction yet!

Bernard Kerik- Criminal justice commentator now turned Felon!

  • Pitiful.

  • Waters is a smart guy! He knows that acknowledging an idiotic question gives it relevance. By ignoring it he makes Think Progress look stupid. This round goes to Jesse Waters.

  • @bizprogo Waters is a smart guy.....He ran away from himself!

  • @bizprogo No, not having an intelligent answer to the question and attacking the questioner ad hom makes him look like an idiot.

  • Waters was asked if there is any truth to the report coming from an anonymous Fox insider, that the spin is systematic, institutionalized, and stuff is just made up.

And all he can say to such an outrageous statement is "no comment"? It can't be that hard to say "no, thats crazy", assuming that there is no truth in the report.

  • New title required:

'Random Soros Propagandist Gets Treated by Jesse Watters'

  • He only knows how to knee cap people...and can't think for himself.

  • What? You mean NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN, PMSNBC or any other media outlet does not embelish news? Interesting.

  • I could go on for days....... Please, please, please, people. Stop watching Fox. It's getting really sad.

  • @bottleofreds If it was not for fox viewers this video would have 300 views like the rest of this guys videos besides it sounds like you watch fox way more then i do

  • @map543211 First, you won't go through all of my examples b/c you can not refute them.

Second, Justice Sotomayor Never said she was more qualified than a white male, EVER!

Third, I never said you could not have a differing opinion. You can not have different FACTS though.

  • @bottleofreds first, i dont live in my parents basement and i have to work so i don't have the time to look up all your accusations

second, if you go to c-span you can see her testimony which she says that she as an Hispanic women she is more empathetic towards certain issues, although I'm paraphrasing which means that if your a whit male you could not be as empathetic as her which is pretty racist

third, since your facts seem to be based on opinions by the commentators your pretty much

  • @map543211

The problem with paraphrasing is that you often leave out key facts which change the story completely. What Sotomayor actually sad was, that she would think that a "wise Latina woman" would know more about living the life of a poor minority than a white male would.

  • @bottleofreds shit out of luck on that argument

  • @map543211 Yes, I do watch way more Fox then you do. That's how I know they lie.

  • #9 Fox News Makes Up Math - In a segment on Obama's budget in April, the network claimed it was four times bigger than President Bush's costliest plan. That simply isn't true.

  • @bottleofreds how i know your full of bs obama didn't send a budget to congress last year they worked under a continuing resolution for last years budget so he wouldn't have to submit a budget

  • @map54321 1 Didn't say "last year". I said April. It was '09. Goes back to that whole "Facts" thing again. ;)

  • #8 On the news show "America's Pulse," E.D. Hill described Barack and Michelle Obama's fist bump at a campaign event last summer as a "terrorist fist jab." She later apologized and claimed that was how it had been "characterized in the media."

  • #7 Wallace had a former Bush administration aide Jim Towey as a guest on "Fox News Sunday" in August and together they pushed numerous falsehoods about a Veterans Affairs administration pamphlet on end-of-life issues.

  • #6 In October, Fox News's Trace Gallagher and Bill Sammon claimed that Senate Democrats would like provisions of the PATRIOT Act that helped catch a suspected terrorist to "go bye-bye." It was a total distortion of both the proposed changes and the terror case.

  • #5 In May, Fox News's Jon Scott said the network had decided to look back on how the stimulus "grew, and grew, and grew." In fact, the entire report came from a Senate Republican Communications Center press release, complete with typo.

  • #4 In April, Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly described a "problematic" remark by Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor as "reverse racism" and said it sounded like she thought "that Latina judges are obviously better than white male judges."

  • @bottleofreds Your right when Justice Sotomayor said she was more qualified and would make a better judge because she is a latina woman inferring that a white male can not be a good judge due to their lack of ovaries and lighter pigmentation is not reverse racism it's just good old fashion racism and sexism I'm not going to go thru all of these because i have a life and it seems obvious that having a differing opinion them you seems to constitute a lie

  • @map543211 Chill out man!....We heard you.....Now put down your Obama as a Savage/Hitler/Joker poster and calm down!

  • @downthedrain08 Chill out about what? if some one is calling bs they should be able to back it up if not they are just another you tube hater which there are alot of ,but I'm sorry i can't let that lie, its not my way if you don't like that I'm sorry, but I'm not going to change to please you I'm not running for office so i don't have to try to please everyone and if you don't like what i have to say ignore me and I'm a conservative i don't have to buy a poster i can afford the original

  • #3 In April, Fox News's Wendell Goler reported on an Obama question-and-answer session that was cut short to make it seem as if the president wanted a health care system "like the European countries." In fact, he was just restating a question -- he went on to say that he opposed such a system

  • #2 In March, Fox News's Martha MacCallum presented a clip of Vice President Joe Biden saying "the fundamentals of the economy are strong" -- and presented it as from an interview that weekend. In fact, the clip came from a 2008 campaign event at which Biden was quoting Sen. John McCain.

    .

  • FOX LIES: #1 Bill Hemmer reported that Department of Education official Kevin Jennings knew of a "statutory rape" case involving a 15-year-old student but "never reported it." In fact, the student was above the age of consent.

  • "Fox News makes stuff up..." Okay, how about some examples? If you want to validate your ridiculous question, throw out some examples. And presenting an anonymous source such as "a Fox insider" carries as much weight as a broken paperclip.

  • "Somebody, somewhere said this...any comment?"

There always one go to response in this scenario when ambushed by TP, "Yes I have a comment...dude, you smell like ass!"

  • @ChaseRocker Fox does it ALL THE TIME. Look up "some people say" on youtube...

  • lemme guess, the ThingProgress douche wears glasses, his hair is a matted pile of shit, he's wearing a Che t-shirt, and he smells of Starbucks, weed and shame?

    How close am I?

  • FOX Fans are so funny, they completely miss the point that Waters REFUSED to answer if he thought "FOX makes stuff up." Uhhh, bro. Sorry bro, I didn't throw enough bros in there, bro.

  • HAHAHA!! So, this clown, Watters, is asked whether FOX makes shit up. And his answer is - No Comment!

And mouthbreathing rightwingers think WATTERS, the little elitist asshole incapable of defending FOX, looks good?? HAHAHAHAHHA!!!

  • Hey Fox News employees, how much they pay you to post on youtube comments? I need some money and I have no problem selling out, contact me.

  • An unnamed report citing an unnamed "Fox insider" just happens to make the exact same claim the left shouts every day. This is the best you tools have?

    Weak tea, weak tea.

  • @chaps666 His answer was no comment. If someone asks you if you're lying and you are UNABLE to answer the question, then the question has been answered - I know that's complicated and righwtingers don't do "thinking", but it makes Watters look like a douchebag.

  • This guy "Bro" is a complete jack ass!!! What a punk!!!!

  • hey think progress an insider just told me that Soros likes to molest squirrel in the park do you agree with that yes or no? Wait before you answer let me grab my phone. Idiots

  • @map543211 hey dummy, if you asked that to one of Soros' people, they would RESPOND to you and say, "that's ridiculous, and untrue." Foxboy Waters REFUSED to answer a question about FOX News ---- BECAUSE IT'S TRUE, BRO!

  • @judyneric hey dummy, by answering such obviously ridicules accusations you give them weight if i had evidence of my accusations i would show it and if they did so would they otherwise its just some idiot who i would not waste my time on unless i would want to get a good laugh at your expense and enjoy the rest of my day after all the burden of proof is on the accuser not the accused. Since you guys are such good thinkers i figured you would get this

  • hey think progress an insider just told me that Soros likes to molest squirrel in the park do you agree with that yes or no? Wait before you answer let me grab my phone. Idiots

  • Ben Armbrister from "Think Douche Bags".

  • Do ya think Soros's useful idiots makes things up? Geeze, what amateurs Georgie has working for him. He did name them "think progress". lol, what part of "think" don't they understand?

  • shoulda been watchin his blazer, brah

  • AHAHAHAHAH LIBTARDS !!!!

  • Stupid "Think Progress" moron! "Don't Think at All" is more like it.

  • He should have at least answered the question! NO, of course not. Where is your proof? What exactly is an insider? A simple no would have sufficed. The libtard probably didn't even have a follow up question!

  • @ezalburez Why even give the guy an answer to such a brainless question? Those without brains won't listen and those with brains don't need it.

  • @joiadbvjaw9384 yEA i KNOW, BUT A SIMPLE NO WOULD HAVE DONE IT. THE QUESTION WAS SOO STUPID!

  • Clowned. Super clowned. NeedADrinkProgress is more like it.

  • TP beclowns itself yet again.

  • "He didn't have to answer Yes or No" The Question was a yes no question. Maybe a five word yes, but its still a yes. Now he could have asked "What do you think motivated the fox insider who....." But that's not a soundbite question.

"Silent Treatment" he said more than the 'interviewer'.

"picking on the guy" At least he did not put him in a head lock and ask "who are you"...

  • Hey, Van, go away and come back with a crew.

  • How hard is it to answer a simple question? Talk about giving the runaround. Its kind of sad that Jesse Watters does ambushes for a living but doesn't have the decency to answer the question when the tables have turned. Weak.

  • @doumbek1188 What Question... This is like stopping a random person on the street and asking them if they are a pigfuc<3r. The only purpose is to illicit a reaction. Don't be pissed he did not get the reaction that he wanted.

If *this* is the best TP 5 has he needs to hang it up. Do you think if you ambushed Matthews and asked "is MSNBC is a propaganda arm for the DNC" he would give an answer?

The fact is Jesse was above answering a 3rd grade attempt at a probing question.

  • @triordanmn The question which he asked like 5 times -- did Jesse agree with the insider comment that Fox News publishes stories with no factual news quality / truth to it. He even framed the question as a Yes or No, simple enough not to confuse a first grader. And yet, no answer from Jesse.

And no, it's nothing like stopping someone on the street and saying vulgar things to them. Nice try, bro.

  • @doumbek1188 "The question which he asked like 5 times"

It's the same as asking someone if they are a pig fuc<3r. The whole purpose of the question was to get him to deny it. When you get someone to deny a specific absurd allegation you give the allegation weight. Its basic psychology. Lyndon Johnson got it, why cant you?

The "Yes or No" is what makes it a trap question. maybe, just maybe, if he had an intelligent question and not a DU talking point he would have gotten somewhere.

  • @triordanmn He didn't have to answer Yes or No, he could answer however he wanted. He could have said "I won't answer this question" -- the point is he just gave him the silent treatment on the question, and then decided he would just change the subject by picking on the guy. Weak.

  • @doumbek1188 And if you want to see a weak silent treatment check this out: watch?v=fooYtalS9Gc&feature=related

  • @triordanmn No thanks, this one is already enough -- i don't need to see anymore fails to start the day

  • @doumbek1188 Well at least your admitting that TP's pathetic stunt was a fail..

  • @doumbek1188 Why answer yes or no when 1) the answer is obvious (no) and 2) you can make the idiot asking the question look like a total dope?

  • @TheLastBrainLeft Clearly you should have been there since you know all the answers -- better yet, maybe Jesse can hire you as his speaker since you already know

  • Just like a leftie... Bring a Camera Phone to a media fight!

  • That was hysterical.

    Thinkprogress = pathetic

  • ...btw, classy move on Jesse Watters' part to help the thinkprogress camera phone guy get into the elevator. looked like Watters put his hand out to keep the elevator door open for him.

  • LMAO @ thinkprogress cameraphone pussy! LOL...how did you manage to get pwned so badly?! that's sad. Waters destroyed you without breaking a sweat.

meanwhile you're quoting some random anonymous source about a story that it sounds like you made up. weak sauce, brother.

  • Nice try libs. Did you plan to do an ambush before you had an actual story to talk about?

Some loser nobody hates their boss over at Fox, that's what you got?

There's no reason to answer that!

    You D-baggers. Always behind.

  • Heh. Fox producer takes the pinko to school.

    -jcr

  • Jesse owned Think Progress!

  • The real title to this video is "I went to CPAC with my iPhone and all I got was totally owned by someone who wasn't even trying."

  • "Uh we HEARD from SOME MYSTERY PERSON that you guys make stuff up. I don't have any proof or any names, but we're not making that up."

Hey, not-Thinkers, how about some names and real tangible quotes instead of making stuff up and asking questions about making stuff up? You azzhats are armature!

  • So like, you guys are like, a bunch of, like, liars, because...like, because some guy, like, said, like you guys are lying, and making up stuff.

Like, what do you think about that story, that the insider guy was telling someone, like, about you guys making stuff up?

    Seriously? LMAO.

  • Anonymous FOX Insider says FOX makes up the news - but we don't get any examples?

That is a pretty weak allegation. Even weaker attempt to try to 'ambush' an expert.

  • @dgroundhog "but we don't get any examples?"

There are and they match the statements of former named employees.

  • @Starry2000 Not in this video. This is a very weak 'ambush video'. You yourself have listed no examples. What news did they just 'make up'? Which named employees have made similar allegations?

These vague, nameless random allegations are ridiculous. Look at the viewership. People trust FOX News more than any other news. It's fair and balanced.

  • @dgroundhog Do you ever read newspapers and then compare the two? Of course Fox makes things up.

  • @Fringe111 I get my news from a variety of different sources. I don't recall any news item that FOX News made up that I didn't verify elsewhere.

I have already asked one person for a specific incident but they didn't supply any. F@#$ing crickets after that request. Can you do better? Tell me which news story FOX News made up.

Why wouldn't the other news stations cover that? Are CNN and MSNBC so pathetic that they are unaware the competition who beats them in every time slot made things up?

  • @dgroundhog Didn't you see my list of examples? I have many more if you'd like...

  • @dgroundhog

Some guy posted a list a couple pages back, you must have missed it.

Off the top of my head there was once instance where Fox & Friends reported that the LAPD was going to purchase 10,000 new jetpacks for its force, at the total cost of $1 billion dollars. The source of that story? A spoof article from the Weekly World News. Fox reported it as real news.

  • haha - funny. I like how he schooled him and wouldn't answer the question. JV team is right.

I also like the whole "a Fox insider said...". Yeah, right. The Fox insider inside your head, maybe.

  • LMAO, this is hilarious. Jesse completely owns this imbecile and the clown posts the video anyway. What an idiot. Jesse was funny as hell.

  • There are a lot of willfully oblivious right-wingers here. This guy acted like he wanted to say something else the entire time, and he was being serious with that advice although he said it in a sarcastic tone.

He did not answer the question because his real opinion would get him in trouble. Not answering leaves this up in the air. The guy as good as said that he already knows and this was an inside conversation between the two.

  • Unless Fox News screens every employee for correct extremist right wing monster views, then Al Gore himself could be working in the mail room. Suddenly, Al Gore is a "Fox News insider", and what do you expect him to say? What's more telling is that the "Fox News insider" couldn't offer anything more specific than "they make up stuff". Some insider!

If I were still a leftist, I'd be hugely embarrassed. This is Think Progress *trying* to make up a story, and succeeding only in looking stupid.

  • @stergu "This is Think Progress *trying* to make up a story, and succeeding only in looking stupid."

Let's forget the whole insider spiel for a moment. This video IS a story. The entire time it looked like this guy really wanted to say something else, and had meaningful glances at the camera(phone) man. You don't see that which you don't want to see, but it is still there.

  • @Starry2000 Like it or not, you can't just "forget the whole insider spiel" when the "insider" question is the only thing on the table. If I followed a guy around for several minutes asking "is the sky falling?" and I didn't get a straight answer, the lack of a straight answer is irrelevant because the question is ludicrous to begin with. "Aha! He was evasive on the sky falling question!" Claiming to divine secret meanings from body language as a result of stupidity is all the more embarrassing.

  • @stergu If somebody followed me around telling me that the sky was falling I would tell them that they are crazy and send them away like anyone else. I would not stand there and crack jokes with them, and give them meaningful glances like this guy did. This is a 3 minute video of him intimating that there was validity to the statement at hand.

  • @Starry2000 The glances that are "meaningful" to you strike the rest of us as his smirking at the complete lack of seriousness of Think Progress' rep and his stupid question. Please TRY to apply some logic: a more comparable question would be "somebody in your family, we won't say who, says you have a toad fetish. Is this true?" Whether somebody in your family SAID that (maybe crazy Aunt Biddy who hates you) is completely unverifiable, and has no bearing on whether you are or not.

  • @Starry2000 A more useful strategy would be to pick one -- just one! -- example of this "making stuff up", instead of indulging in this "when did you stop beating your wife" business. We know from experience that what the left considers "made up" is simply differing viewpoints and priorities. If I report that a bunch of liberal youths in "green" t-shirts left their garbage lying all over the place on Earth Day, you would have to call it "made up" because it makes liberals look like hypocrites.
