  • Her vocal range was so low for a woman yet perfectly feminine. She was lovely.

  • Karen Carpenter , I will always remember her , always !

  • The year this song came out< i was 17 and first in love with..still the love of my life. The soundtrack to those, my best years was The Carpenters and Bread. I didnt know for years there was a tie btween the two. Jimmy Griffin, the guitar guy with the big mustache in Bread wrote the song For All We Know. I was a rock and roll musician and played for older well known michigan artists on weekends, opening act, etc, but listened to The Carpenters, Bread, and Joni Mitchell. It was all about feeling.

  • LA AMO.

  • KAREN CARPENTER! A beautiful Angelic Voice! Many millions of people still cherish Karen's beautiful voice and wonderful recordings! It was indeed a tragic and sorrowful event that she died at age 32!

Far too short a life! The world misses Karen Carpenter, but cherishes her music!

  • Her voice is my drug (:

  • KC , Petula Clark , Marilyn McCoo , LuLu , Dusty Springfield

  • @DrHogfan

    shhhhh

  • The two greatest female voices ever = Karen Carpenter and Barbara Streisand

  • She is a one off.

  • What a magnificent performance. And I love the tiny changes she puts in.

  • Actually, the date is February 4th.

  • Karen Carpenter 28th Anniversary February 6th . So many years after, her unique, perfect, clear voice lives on. Some have called their music "cheesy". Bad for them. I /We call it art and beauty. This is what soft pop music is about. And this is called singing.

  • A sound that can't be confused with anything else.

  • Such a pure and amazing voice. No singer today will ever match her style and vocal quality. God Bless her and may she rest in peace. She was taken from us far to soon.

  • She is the best..

  • Thanks karen for your voice, I love this song, your voice is......I cant describe it

  • Karen was what, 22-23 here? Singers like this come along once in a lifetime. And NONE of the "singers" in the charts today is qualified to hold Karen's coat, in my opinion.

  • @garyifny Karen was 21, this is in 1971.

  • @garyifny Mine as well.

  • One of the most soothing voices of all time. This lady couldn't sing a wrong note if she tried. Today we have these "singers" using auto-tune to correct pitch in the studio because they really can't sing very well. I bet you can't find five singers in pop music today that can sing like this live.

  • it doesn't get any better than this

  • only 2 things make me cry...my kids and Karen Carpenter. THE voice of my lifetime, I've travelled the musical highway from youth but Karen is timeless and reassuringly perfect and comforting. God Bless you for Karen and Richard for your music.

  • An instantly recognized pop voice, full of sorrow and hope and wonderful vocal technique. She is, truly, the most accomplished singer of her time. We are lucky to hear what she achieved in a very short career. But, the tragedy is how this remarkable singer might have evolved over the years. Our loss, indeed!

  • Thank you for sharing this. I think my brain just melted, I know my heart did. I grew up listening to and loving this music, but not until now can I fully appreciate the excellence and absolute unique nature of this voice... that simply has no equal.

  • These were great songs, granted. But Ms. Carpenter could sing the periodic table of elements--in Japanese--WITH LARYNGITIS--and a mouth full of marbles, and still have a voice to die for.

She shouldv'e been a Beatle. That would be awesome!

  • @slmacph Ha ha ha, I love your comment :)

  • Katie Hallowell...To memories of our youth!!!

  • i sat here listening and reading all the comments and i guess i wasnt alone in my thoughts as it seems i wasnt the only one that thought we had a ANGEL in disguise on Earth ,eh ! She started out thinking she didnt have a good voice,,unbelievable,, eh ,,, we are the few that knew ,,, shes back in heaven now ,,we love you Karen~

  • Yes, we were very lucky to have had her when we did. Too bad she could not have been around longer for us, and especially her brother, to create more pure, beautiful music.

  • Karen que bella eras...wow que voz mas hermosa!!! me llegas al alma ,haces estremecer todo mi ser al escucharte....eres la mejor de todas.

  • The Great American Voice

  • At Their very best!!!

  • dios mio Karen porque acabaste con tu vida de esa manera tan triste seguirias siendo una DIVA mas de lo q ya eres, q hermosa voz la de un Angel

  • Impresionante, cómo maneja la voz, en directo y sin ayudas digitales. Increible.

  • Such a beautiful voice from a beautiful woman.

  • Oh sure, there are plenty of women who can sing like Karen...no doubt about it; but, they DON'T WANT TO...

What you get, instead, is a lost generation of kids like Lady ga-ga, for an example...

Sounds like some uncontrollable disease, or something!!!

  • I love Karen, her talent was beyond amazing... but I also like Lady GaGa, she's a talented creative young lady.. if Karen were still alive I think she would ask Lady Gaga to her next Christmas Album!.. RIP Karen!

  • @vegas787 Right on! Love your comment.

  • Ranks up there with Superstar at the very top of the Carpenters' illustrious catalogue of greats.

  • wow!! i wish my mom can sing like that!!

  • really-----ranks right up there with Barbra, Judy and Celine as the best voices in the 20th!

  • So effortless... so pure... We will never have a singer as great and angelic as Karen's was. No one can compare to Karen. Absolutely no one. Such a beautiful woman. Love you, Karen! "A Star on Earth, A Star in Heaven"

  • @chrismartinez90 Only Agnetha can be compared to Karen

  • @lux54 Nope. Wrong, wrong, wrong. No one can compare to Karen, absolutely no one. No one can be compared to anybody in general. End of story.

  • A truly angelic voice, she sounded just as terrific live then as she did in the recording studio. Flawless!

  • What can I say, the most beautiful voice ever!

  • It's great to see her do this song live. It's my favorite.

  • Great music then, great music now. So nice to see them all performing. Thanks for posting.

  • Oh My gosh! I love it! She's really the best. It has been 26 years since she've been gone, but as I listen to every song she had sung, it's always as good as new. And until now I still wish that she's here. Though I know that really couldn't happen. Thank you Lord for giving us Karen!

We miss you and Love you Terribly!

    RIP Karen!

  • This is perfect, absolutely flawless. She was the most amazing singer that EVER lived. No one can or will ever be able to touch her range and the emotion that she presented when she sing. She can never be replaced. A true legend and star.

  • agree, to me she had the best voice that there ever was , such emotion

  • What a beautiful voice. I miss Karen!
