I love the N/A bmw motors for feel and refinement but you really can never compare with the F/I motors unless you have more displacement. It's simple math. Well at least you have the lighter car and therefore the better handling vehicle.
I'm all for NA, but to be perfectly honest, this TT I6 feels like a small v8. If you didn't tell me it was FI i wouldn't know. Only downside would be greater complexity which always leads to worse reliability.
Cool comparison. The 06 330i you have is an awesome car, dont feel bad you lost to the 335i..Im trying to decide between buying a used 06 330i and a 335i sedan...
I bought the 06 330i, trust me in this economy, if you can find a BMW like the 06 330i then get it, it had great horsepower, not as much as the 335I, but hell, you can get 30mpg, thats is worths it weight in gold right there
racing with an automatic takes no skill period. all u have 2 do is put ur foot on the gas.. racing should involve the driver. u guys raced automatic in a straight line? wheres the skill in that?
What 335i got is big torque compared to 330i. Some did 0-60 in 4.8sec - unbelievable, 330i is 200lb lighter though, only Magnesium/alloy engine, it needs improved throttle response at low RPMs, I think intake & chip would put beside 335i...
You are on crack if you think that a 330 with anything less than F/I would even compete with a 335, much less a PROcede 335. Different animals in every respect.
Hey thanks guys for a decent video. I am waiting for my 335i and I enjoyed the video. I am glad I got the auto because unless your a superhero, you are not going to beat me in the manual.
I see the difference!

interesting comparison. got my 335i manual sedan last week and was wondering how it performs vs the 330i, which is for sure no slouch either.

Got to agree, in a heads up race, you really have to be on your game to beat the auto with a manual.

I agree. Very hard to beat today's great auto's in a drag.

manual all depends on the driver
