thanks for posting this awesome video .I just wonder if those workers new back then that some of the tubes they were producing would be worth sooo much 40 odd years later..
Absolutely fantastic. Thanks for uploading. I wonder what happened to all that equipment? Credit to all those skilled workers, and to those who developed the machines. I'd love to see production there start up again, and produce those quality valves once again. NOS of some tube types are incredibly hard to get, if you can get them at all. I have a couple of valve HiFi amps and would love to fit them out with mullards of yesteryear.
This was so cool to see. What amazing automation they came up with, so long ago. If you've ever listened to an amplifier with Mullard EL34, EL84, or ECC83 (12AX7) tubes, you know how important Blackburn was. Long live tubes!
this video was on blackburn microtech solutions website, which has sadly closed down, they were just starting to produce modern valves in the old blackburn plant, hopefully some like minded people can buy the valve division and produce valves there once more, id buy a share of the company happily.
I had no idea the process was so automated. And they really churned them out didn't they.

I'm stunned ! Now I know why my Blackburn made 12AX7 sound so good :)
Thumbs up to the numerous highly skilled workers for providing one of the finest preamp tubes in the world !
