this guy looks awesome, he has a rocket of a shot, so he could make up for wisniewski leaving if he does, but this guys passing is amazing, he will be a huge playmaker and hopfully a powerplay specialist like Markov, and he even throws some hip checks in there which is just what we need, some gritty skill players

well, he's a defensive defenceman, and he's good at it, but it means he'll replace Hamrlik, Wizz or Gill...and I'm sure Sopel isn't part of the equation, he'll not be with habs next year... that's gonna be a tough decision, with Weber who's becoming good also... btw, according to a russian website, he signed a one year contract with montreal of 984 000$ with performance bonus...

And we have many youngs defences that we can use for next year and we prob not going to resign him and probably no other team will sign him. We got many young players and Gill is the perfect ''old brother'' to help them. Why would he decline then ? :P

@ahmedi93 Gill was pretty awesome in his 2 years with the Habs. One of the best PK defensemen in the league. Hell he led the league in PK minutes/game and a big reason why the Habs PK was ranked top 10.

Wisniewski you can argue because he has the ability to put up 50+ points. Hamrlik and Weber on the other hand imo don't boost any one part of our D and are much more easy to replace in terms of impact. habs take a ton of pims. gill is valuable.
