@ARandomJoe That is where you are WRONG. The Steyr AUG is a multi-functional platform. In a short amount of time it can be switched from a infrantry assault weapon, a sniper rifle, or a Light Machine Gun. It is all done by switching out the barrel.

@Airsoft1287 I know it's a multi-platform weapon (AUG= Armee Universal Gewehr in German= Universal Army Rifle in English), and can be made into an SMG, an Assault Rifle, an LMG, but NOT a "sniper". The 5.56 NATO rounds are not suitable for the ranges of a sniper rifle. A DMR (Designated Marksmen Rifle) can be made out of one if you use the H-BAR barrel, but not a "sniper rifle". Plus, the scope's smaller magnification would prove useless for targets at such long ranges.

Because that is what you're implying, that by adding a scope and a longer barrel it becomes a sniper rifle. Again, the bullets the AUG uses (5.56mm NATO rounds) wouldn't be suited for a legitiment sniping mission. Again, maybe it could be used as a DMR but not a sniper rifle, and I've checked. Do your research before calling someone a dumbass, dumbass.

Well, you don't necessarily have to buy another set of optics for the gun if it doesn't fit on the rail. As long as you have an optic with thumb screws that adjusts the width of the rail attachment piece.

This is not a replica of the Steyr AUG A1, the A1 is the military version with a 2x scope on it that is fixed and cannot be removed. This is the civilian AUG. It has a site rail that you can choose your own optics.

Interesting he complains about the foregrip being flimsy - the real thing tends to wobble a bit too after it's seen some use. Also interesting to see the body locking catch actually does work on the Airsoft version, wasn't sure how far they'd go to mimic the real thing.

We have Real Steyrs in Australia. In army cadets we parade with them and strip/clean them. On annual camp i fired that rifle 2 times and its a very well made weapon. Airsoft would be cool in AUS but our gun laws are much more strict than USA.
