I know it is difficult for a movie to be the same as the book, even though Casino Royale pretty much nailed that to an extremely high degree.
I really, really, really hate a movie that's based in another country(e.g. Germany, russia) and the actors speak with a stupid BRITISH accent. It ruins the whole movie for me..

Just bought this movie from Barnes and Noble and all I have to say is WOW!!!!!!!! It was so amazing, I was crying on some parts. Also, I LOVE Oshri Cohen. He is a fantastic actor!!!!

If there is any comparable American film it is "Full Metal Jacket" in that it focuses on a platoon of soldiers and shows the emotional roller coaster they go through from war. It shows the stress soldiers go through. The movie doesn't touch the politics of the Arab-Israel conflict. THe only politics mentioned are the internal politics of Israel in terms of the debate going on in 2000 during the withdrawal.

Simply more Jews came, the Arabs didn't like it as they were always dhimmi (second class). Could/can't accept the success of second class people, no one 'stole' land.
All in all they were a minority. I think the root to the problem started later, afther the second world war. If the Palestininas and the Israelis were left to solve the problem on their own i think that today they would not have the same problems.
Egypt, Syria, Jordan are the countries to blame here. They said without consulting with the palestinians in 49 that they could not lett a state of israel exist. The point here is that no one asked the people living in Palestine what they wanted.

Watched it last night and was pretty impressed. I have very little sympathy for Isreal but regardless of this I was moved and identified with the characters. There is some impressive footage here, one critic said at times it was like a scifi movie for which I agree.

No one is basing the "legitimate claim" on the land. Obviously there were Arabs living there, as well as a minority of Jews (who had a majority in some towns however). Nonetheless, when land was purchased through the JNF etc. given permission from the Sultan of the Ottoman Empire, Jews migrated and created commerce and jobs. Simply more Jews came, the Arabs didn't like it as they were always dhimmi (second class). Could/can't accept the success of second class people, no one 'stole' land.

All in all they were a minority. I think the root to the problem started later, afther the second world war. If the Palestininas and the Israelis were left to solve the problem on their own i think that today they would not have the same problems.
Egypt, Syria, Jordan are the countries to blame here. They said without consulting with the palestinians in 49 that they could not lett a state of israel exist. The point here is that no one asked the people living in Palestine what they wanted.

This movie is actually about a mistake that the governement made by putting these soldiers up there.
Much Israelian civilians were really against the decision of the governement for putting the soldiers with no reason to up there.

@rozzapezza No, the dialogue on which this trailer is based between Liraz and that other guy does not take place in the film. Maybe there is more than one version. I saw the film two minutes ago and I'm totally sure that dialogue was not in it. very good film though, a must see.

Watched it last night and was pretty impressed. I have very little sympathy for Isreal but regardless of this I was moved and identified with the characters. There is some impressive footage here, one critic said at times it was like a scifi movie for which I agree.

the movie tries to be very realistic but and i think the director did a good job. but there arent any "war sceens" where soldies fight soldiers. the soldiers dont see the enemy, they are whatching the mountain "so he wont run away"... (a line from the movie) until there is an order to leave it.
