If Ron Paul actually believes he will end the conglomeration of private multi-trillionaire bankers who call themselves the Fedral Reserve Bank..he has more than one more thought coming.

The FED OWNS THE ENTIRE US ECONOMY. What sane CEO would give up such a monopoly? Many have tried to "rein" in the FED. All attempts have failed and the most notable citizen to lose his life trying was John F Kennedy.

Subprime loans are NOT a natural service of the market. I mean, why is it in any bank's interest to give a very high number of risky loans to those who can't pay them off? Why would they do that voluntarily? It makes no fucking sense because it's not true! The people at fault are the idiot borrowers who bought too much house that they couldn't afford. Don't blame bankers for their stupidity. Consumers had all the power when they were at those desks negotiating the mortgages.

I love how Huffington tries to make it seem like the housing crisis is just another round of 'deregulation.' BULL-SHIT! It was bad gov't interventions and misregulation that did the trick. The gov't began forcing banks to make an excessive amount of risky loans by doing things such as suing them, like what Andrew Cuomo did in 1999 as HUD Sec. Sure, he never admitted to suing, but we know damn well that's what he meant when he said the banks "agreed" to give more subprime loans.

I'm not quite sure about the rest of the financial crisis, but I do know the housing crisis is NOT because of deregulation. That is a definite lie. Fannie and Freddie are 2 of the most ill-conceived agencies in gov't today, and they should've been ABOLISHED after Lehman collapsed, not socialized. They could operate under lax tax and regulatory standards, and they allowed banks to shift the burden of their loans, which is ridiculous. Banks should take responsibility for their shit.

Her paper is second-rate, and the only reason I ever read it is if Matthew Filopwicz from headzup links to an interesting story on it. Kids are going to school "homeless"?? What kids?? Do you see any 'homeless kids' on the street of NYC? Probably very few, if any. The problem with these homeless advocates on the Left is that they take the gov't's word too easily. "Homeless" is defined as basically having not owned or rented your own home at least one day in a certain time period. Even if you LIVED in a house with someone else and had actual shelter, the gov't will consider you "homeless." What nonsense!

When I think of homeless, I think of someone actually living on the streets with nothing. Calling someone "homeless" just because the place they live at isn't theirs (if even temporarily) is just absurd and a great way to inflate the actual number of homeless people in America. Let's be sensible and separate the actually needy homeless people from people who have jobs, have food, and have shelter but just don't own or rent it. We all know there aren't millions of people on the streets.
