  • This happened on my 9th birthday.

  • @josephgreen2008 Hopefully you, your kids and grand kids will never get a chance to experience it. Thanks for posting. Wolfie

  • Sorry . I was in Phu Bai (in I core) . I was a medic in the 142nd Med/Surg Clinic on Easter Sunday 1971 . Peace !

  • @hutchfromba Welcome home hero. Wolfie

  • @WolfieRed1 No hero at all . There was a draft and everybody just tried to make it home alive . Being a medic , my ass was always covered .

  • ok i forgot the c......ive seen them loads of times in northern ireland and they gone now....they werent welcome here either

  • @starduster66 Amazing they are still around, thanks for posting. Wolfie

  • never agreed with the vietnam war, so much unnecessary death comes from war. Although its the politicians that make these mistakes it the soldiers that bare the brunt and have to live with the concequences of battle, brave men indeed. I dont reckon i could do it.

  • @Joezflack I never agreed either, but I got drafted and served even though I was 4 F according to my orthopedic surgeon. Yes soldiers serve and told what do. I reckon you could, I wasn't sure either, but then you do it for your buddies next to you. Wolfie

  • From one Huey lover and a former member of the US Army (1st Avn Bde, 4-228th Avn Regt, and 36th Med Det (AA), I thank you for your service and posting this video. Soldier On!

  • @MrScab4228 Same and back at you. The bravest served in Medivac and hopefully the best served in MASH. Thank you for serving my brother. Wolfie

  • Que dicha que se los almorzaron a los Americans los Vietnamitas fueron más valientes lucharon por su tierra y las tropas de USA las ECHARON y PERDIERON JA JA JA VIVA VIETNAM

  • My grandpa was in the Stingers

  • @rampage6060 Your Grandpa is a very brave man. He was in a great unit and give him a big hug for me for serving his country. And then tell him he is a hero and hopefully I flew in one of his birds or he protected me flying gunships. Thanks for posting. Wolfie

  • @WolfieRed1 yeeah he was also flying as a huey gunner when they where one man short

  • For all you vets, especially the ones that serve in Vietnam. Thank you

  • @Vietnameze4Life I served with many brave Vietnamese and enjoyed when I was invited to dinner. Beautiful country, so sad it was war then. Thanks, Wolfie

  • f*ck you, 009 sound system

    go burn in hell

  • @5markmartinfan1212 Another moron visits the site. Thanks

  • thought it was shinnook not shitook

  • @starduster66 it's actually Chinook :P

  • From an Iraq war veteren to a nam vet. I thank you.

  • @valpro99 From an American and Nam Vet I salute you for serving your country in the finest tradition of the military. I glad America appreciates what our men and women in uniform do. I am saddened when some Americans blame our military for what politicians decide. I am excited about the new movie coming out about the Seals. It is an action movie, but from what I understand there is a big focus on what the families sacrifice. Thanks and a salute to you! Wolfie

  • According to Wikipedia, for US Military, 58,220 killed and 300,635 wounded.

Rest in Peace deceased and thank-you living veterans.

  • @sanfranciscobay 58,220 too many. Thanks for posting. Wolfie

  • the helicopter nicknames ? slick= Huey no guns....skeeter= Cayuse (the Skeeter was a UK ship, but Cayuse in VietNam was loach ?)....shithook= Chinook....just wondering

  • @rascalferret Go to the head of the class. You are right on all counts. Wolfie

  • @WolfieRed1 ya,never heard Skeeter before, shithook and slick was a simple deduction. Thank you for your service.

  • seanog@live.co.uk.......id be glad to talk to you

  • i just loved ridin' in the door of a Huey at 4000 feet.it was a shit load cooler than on the ground.i was with the 1st Cav at Tay Ninh and Song Bayh.we spent some time in Cambodia about 70 clicks from Phnom Penh.1969-70

  • @nomiclas yeh ok how many innocent babys did you bomb you piece of c***

  • @starduster66 i didn't bomb anyone but i do think we killed a shitload of innocent people because we invaded their country.life i guess, is messy.all i feel now is guilt for what we did to these innocent people.riding in a chopper does not make me a piece of crap.by the way i was drafted and did what the country demanded.your judgement reminds me of the rejection i experienced when i returned.you have no idea.

  • @starduster66 starduster, send me a personal e-mail and i'd like to talk to you.i want to find out why your thinking the way you do.?

  • @nomiclas Welcome home hero! 1st Cav great unit, yes we went into Cambodia too when we weren't there, or so they said? Wolfie

  • @WolfieRed1 thank you.may i say the same to you Sir!i love all our brothers and sisters and all the memories we have together that no one else can share.you know what i'm saying.Bill

  • MUTE

  • I just knew now that there were already MH-6 Little Birds in the Vietnam War, I thought they were only used first in the gulf war...

  • @MrHYPERFORCEGO Yes, and I was invited to go on a flight with the M-60 in my lap. If we saw anything VC or NVA I was instructed to take them out. I had never been in a Loach (as we called them) before, the pilot scared the crap out of me flying low and then doing some accrobatic manuevers. Pretty exciting, but when you got a 60 in your hands and not hanging on and no seatbelts do you slide out or let the 60 go out the door in a radical turn? Glad I didn't have to experience that one. Wolfie

  • Check out youtube.com/watch?v=flNkBk82f0Y&list=UUHvJOIkZ8X5L9cU96Pbq3TQ&index=5&feature=plcp for similar Super 8 movies in the field. LRRPs (Rangers) on recon.

  • im glad i wasnt in nam but that doesnt mean i would have shot myself in the leg to not be drafted i love the army rd id Rock of the marne!

  • even though the song now is bad its a nice vid and the song wasnt overused back when this was posted

  • @TheBloxhead your are right, this video was posted when there were only about 3 other videos using it. Now its overused, people don't understand, you can NOT use any song you want, there are copy right laws that YouTube enforces. When you get a lot of plays they go after you. Thebloxhead, thanks for your astute observation and comments. Wolfie

  • This song is an insult to my ears

  • @BuffaloTPU this song is weird ok but it makes you think

  • @BuffaloTPU and i like it ....ok maybe its not fitting but it makes u wonder how many youg precious lives where wasted there

  • @starduster66 NO. It makes me think that the creator of the video did not even bother to look for a suitable soundtrack. In a way its an insult to the men who gave everything when their country called them to war.

  • Y is this song everywere on youtube......all rise for youtube national anthem

  • That film is treasure wolfie.Good to see some real history on here

  • i like the sound\trak whats it called?

  • Please do us a faver and get rid of the audio all together its not appropriate for these fighting americans no affence to u though

  • @GeneralGiffel What about all the Vietnamese, do you not care about them?

  • I hope you'll find Ruggenbuck! He seems to be a nice guy :)

  • did you attend recondo school???

  • @GeneralGiffel Another moron posting after not paying attention. You can't spell or speak well, is your mommy still taking care of you? Your good friend Wolfie.

  • I'm starting to think 009 Sound System is the Nickelback of electronic music. Dry as hell, hated universally around the world.

  • I've recently watched Vietnam in HD, and i have to say even though I'm Australian, I respect both the ANZACS and the U.S. Marines that fought with bravery against the North Vietnamese Forces considering how the North Vietnamese Forces fought a lot with guerilla tactics. All my respect to the people who served in Vietnam.

  • The worse part was just before you exited the slick in the field and just before it took off when you were leaving the field.

  • @gov111w Yes, leaving the field hoping you wouldn't take rounds. Wolfie

  • @gov111w Close enough, but the worse part is this awful song.

  • may i have your permission to use this in a project please?? :)))

  • sorry for your loss and thank you for your sacrifice.

  • You watching Vietnam war the same time don't forget to watching US secret war in Laos too!

  • please stand for the YouTube International Anthem

  • By the way:PLEASE, DON'T SAVE THE WORLD ANYMORE. WE ARE BRYAN, NOT RYAN!

  • MURDERES WITHOUT A CAUSE! Can't forget old habits, can you? Having a CRIMINAL RECORD instead of HISTORY like others, it becomes quite easy for someone to curse a man by saying: YOU ARE A COMPLETE AMERICAN!

  • This footage must seem another lifetime ago, WolifeRed1.

Doesn't life just fly by? I'm nearly 30 and I already notice it.

  • "Vietnam as a cultural and historical entity is at risk of extinction as the countryside literally dies under the blows of the largest military machine ever unleashed on an area of this size."

    -- Bernard Fall

  • This is a very superficial & insignificant comment compared to most on here, but the only flying Bell UHIH chopper in the UK is kept about 10 miles from me here. It's an incredible machine, & the sound is unique. I can only imagine how US soldiers, who were injured, must have felt when they heard the distant sound of a Huey coming to rescue them... that's all I wanted to say... great video Wolfie

  • @cbyam1300 Thanks, if I haven't responded before. Love my UK friends and your comments are far from insignificant. Wolfie

  • Here it is ..all these years later ....and the only people who truly understand are those who fought and those who loved them.......

  • @gov111w AND all the millions of Vietnamese who must have been terrified when they heard the sound of the US choppers coming their village etc .

  • @TheMOONBEAM40 Actually some were pretty happy, we ran the VC off who terrorized them.

  • i hope all american's get kill by eye cancer, every single one of you mother fuckers, even the people who emigrate to the USA. you shit mother fuckers, i hope you pay for what you have done on day soon

  • @HugMyNutz THANK YOU DINKY-DOW

  • @HugMyNutz Freak!

  • The greatest army of the greatest nation in world history sure showed them, didn't they?! Rah rah rah! Our side is the best! God is on our side 'cause we're right and they're wrong! Woo hoo! Band of brothers, that's us! Gives our lives meaning, dunnit?! Yee haw! Simple as that! Next time some country thinks they have the right to run their own affairs, we'll show *them* too! Blind patriotism, mindless jingoism, and insane hubris f-o-r-e-v-e-r!

  • @longchenpath How the fuck can u say god is on our site when it all comes down to killing each other? Stfu u dont know what god is!

  • @TagzBloody ....uhhh, you need to spend some time on reading comprehension skills.

  • @longchenpath And you need to find out what god i. wether you call yourself a christen it is a sin to kill

  • @longchenpath Why don't you go live in some third world country and THEN report back to us!! Ignorance is bliss isn't it??

  • @josnow57

first ,there is only one world. even if white nations suffer from a delusion which causes them to pretend other wise. secondly, america is what u call third world. if what is meant by that is that they are poor and backwards socially. america is in free fall right now. and yet u can still sit on here and try and be smug with others about how sooo much america is .not so,so not.

  • @skyjuiceification shake it off, hate on your own time

  • all rise to the youtube anthem!

  • They are warriors.

  • Thank you for your service and for this great footage.

  • send me a huey.........., awesome brother...

  • Wolfie: Thanks for your footage man. I think the History Channel's take on the Vietnam War was different in that it allowed the "other side from within" to be told. In Nam, anything went. I feel for the young soliders and Marines today in Afghanistan asking permission to fire. The ONLY heroes of the Vietnam war have their names etched in a giant black granite wall in D.C. The American public and especially the media use the term "hero" much too loosely today. Be well Wolfie.

  • They served that's what matters they were the so went home some dissent they made a difference in other peoples lives even if Killing others but it's the men who stand proudly in hellish times are the greeteest heroes of them all that's what war is it's he'll you will change others will chang........and to all men and woman how Serv today thankyou

  • Great video, I've been on a Vietnam kick the last couple months ever since I saw "Vietnam in HD" on the history channel. Sorry to hear you guys weren't allowed to strike strategic locations like the Norths air force base where they kept their migs at for example, instead having to draw them out to obliterate them in a dog fight. You guys kicked ass in every major conflict, but the North was still very strong and ended up destroying the south once you left. When they were promised support from US

  • @enacku A lot of my footage was used in the History Channel Vietnam in HD documentary. I sent them my 8mm footage and they upgraded it to 1080p HD. It really improved the video quality and I was glad many buddies got to see themselves on TV. Thanks, Wolfie

  • @enacku come on dude..dont make fucking excuses. Look at this footage without your brainwashed blinders on. These men were everyday americans fooled into joining this hell on earth jungle...It may seem "intense" on "Vietnam HD" but in reality millions of everyday people were forcibly taken from their homes and families and thrown into the hellish war in the jungle(Draft). There was no legitimate reason for their deaths. The soldiers didnt feel "honor" or "bravery"..they felt confused and scared.

  • @enacku I love how your trying to tell a Vietnam Vet what happened in and after the war..

It's great your learning, but in my eyes it's a bit disrespectful.

  • @Lemon0Tart Talking to vet about Vietnam war that I've read hundreds of pages on, watched hours of film and documentary to get his response, get yelled at by 16 year old Edge's #1 fan.

  • @enacku 1: I'm not 16. 2: I didn't yell at or anything close to it 3: Someone who has spent their time reading over "hundreds of pages" and watched "hours of film" would not say something as stupid as what you did, if you think knowing that is somehow impressive, then wow. 4: I don't follow wrestling, my brother does. So i don't care who the fuck 'Edge' is. But good try at trying to insult me with calling me a 16 year old wrestling fan, i can see how that could tear my soul into two.

  • @Lemon0Tart Ok, 17. What did I say that was stupid? We should of kicked their ass like Ronald Reagan said or leave since we were denying our military the ability to fight most effectively, like denying our military to strike strategic locations. Which was the fault of the political clowns in office. So we left and the south got destroyed, they had to surrender. I'm not knocking the author or anything.

  • @enacku Not 17.. Nothing you said was stupid, it's all correct, it's just the fact that you were trying to a Vietnam war Vet the history of a war he took part in, and a basic history at that. Everyone who knows anything about the Vietnam war knows what you said. I don't know if woolfie took offense (i doubt he did) but in my eyes it just seems ignorant of you. Also, why are you trying to guess my age, your comments I would assume that your the young one here.

  • @enacku I have been watching the HD Viet nam movies also. WolfieRed1 caugh me off gaurd on this movie. I was there!!! I was in the 1st of the 20th, 2nd platoon. there is quite a story behind what happened on April 11th Easter Sunday. After 40 years plus It is accidently found by one who was there. This leaves a sour taste in my mouth that the war was for nothing, but we learned to treat our vets better when they get home. I have sent this to my family in hopes that they never forget.

  • @enacku Sharks & Dolphins...Lam Son 719...Laos 1972...last gasp on the Ho Chi Mhin trail...They lost alot of aircraft...and men. Brave men.

  • @enacku Brain washed prick! Even the USA public (educated ones) realized it was a obscene war of aggression . USA ELITE trying to install a puppet regime . Kicking ass means the massacre of millions of women .kids My lai etc Veterans when they realized the crimes they had committed threw their medals on the White house steps .Many went back to a united Vietnam to pay penitence for the slaughter they inflicted . Socialist Republic is thriving . Educate yourself !

  • @TheMOONBEAM40 Yeah, now Victor Charlie makes our T-Shirts. That's thriving, sweat-shop style. Read up on your history, when the NVA rolled into town after the South collapsed it was most definitely not peaches and cream.

  • Thank you to all the vets for your service and sacrifice and a big hug from me!!! <3 <3 <3

  • @awoowoowoo Thanks for your post and thoughts to all the men and women that serve and served. Wolfie

  • @awoowoowoo Why don't you congratulate the waffan SS While your at it ?

  • @TheMOONBEAM40 Really? Really? Are you that ignorant? They're all dead now...beam yourself back to the 40th moon where you came from.

  • Good vid...takes me back to 69 - 70...Bravo Company, 3/506th Infantry "Currahees" Battalion, 101st Airborne Division...Central Highlands and Cambodia. God Bless all aviation personnel...the lifeblood of all Nam grunts.

  • @currahees3506 Great unit with a lot of history of honor and bravery. Thanks for serving your country. Wolfie

  • @currahees3506 was in nam 67-68 during tet was in 110th hellicoter support grp. it was one year in my life i will never forget..365 days counting down to get short..

  • Thank you for sharing.

  • @21ricky666 Thank you for commenting. Wolfie

  • This is for the one who hit me with the soda can when I got to San Francisco airport. I was a doc. 432ndCSGP. All the babies we held, took care of. I never saw any raping. BUT, for the one who hit me with the can. I hope your watching these videos. See, no baby killing like you told me I had done. God bless my brothers and sisters. To all in Pedro Rescue, PJs. all of us. Spectre1

  • Great video! I was Regular Army, '86-91, was a Crew Chief on the H model Huey, saw duty in S. Korea (Camp Casey) and Ft. Campbell, with deployments to Honduras, El Salvador, and Desert Shield/Storm. The Huey is one special bird, one of the best. Thank you, sir, for your service to our Great Nation. Air Assault!

  • @ickabodcreighton Same to you, you honor me and all the others who have served. Wolfie

  • Thank you for your service.

  • @TheBingggg Thanks, Wolfie

  • автор не волнуйся ты так, сейчас у вашей молодёжи с видеокамерами всё нормально,снимают во всему миру. традиции чтят.

  • Wang im an amaerican and i dont want to hear that shit. Do you think just because im an american that i support our wars? Fuck no. Honor is dying these days. Whatever happened to wars fought for protection purposes only? Now its all fucking oil and money. These two things are going to destroy us all in the end no matter what fuckin country you are it wont matter. I think the human species was designed only to destroy itself. Just watch

  • @myGodsAreAliens Sorry to see you are so troubled, there are other words that get the point across other f__k. If you want to appear to be smart, do it without the alley language, it shows ignorance and not what I think you want to be or can be? Wolfie

  • well duuuh!

  • I may not respect America's decision to go to war but i sure as hell respect and support our troops. It is a shame that soldiers caught the hostility from anti-war protesters. My best friend leaves for basic in 3 days, and even if our soldiers don't belong in the middle-east in the first place, everyone damn well better support our troops for their sacrifice, even if you don't believe in war.

  • @flipsyde24 that makes no sense, why is your friend joining an organisation which is used to rape, destroy and torture other nations who cant protect themselves. to support a persons decision, when based on a misguided understanding o fthe world is just wrong. just tell your friend to be strong, good and live by the warriors code- dont lie, steal, commit crimes, respect other people and he will be fine.

  • @flipsyde24 It wasn't so much the anti-war protesters as it was the much larger group of draft resisters. One group didn't believe in the war the other didn't want to fight it. Note: all volunteer military during Iraq-Afganistan wars. Little if any protest. Only discussion and commentary. As long as most young Americans don't have to serve they don't care.

  • I thought you did a great job with the video an song bro, so sorry for the loss, God bless you all.

  • Sorry to say but you Yanks are shit at winning a War, always will be, because you are too loud, and you have little ground intelligence to work on. Your President says...we are going to fight....and the PR people around the President go into hyperventilation. Total mess ensues.

  • @stiglaa Thats why we saved your sorry asses in WWII huh?

  • awful music

  • @TheSandwichyum This is what you and 5 other people care about? Well? Jesus, you dare to care about such a thing on a video like this, you immature brat.

  • @TheSandwichyum Agree.

  • you fucking american need to stop stick your nose to other country. you are not fucking hero

  • @nphan1000 shut up you goon

  • @nunny671 you american is the one who needs to shup ut. After WW2, you seem to go around waging useless and nonsense wars.

  • Re. 'Excite236'; I do respect the efort and sacrifice they made - a soldier's a soldier, after all. But to fight thousands of miles from home when your country/society is not under direct threat is diffcult and confusing.

Re. '001720BC'; You can change the music, but all you can do with history is discuss it and try to arrive at a truth (yes, I did say 'a' truth).

Re. 'Someonewithballs'; I don't know what 'ccr' means.

Anyway: HAPPY NEW YEAR to all of you.

  • i put ccr on instead

  • I was in the 7/1 air cav at Vinh Long in 68. One of our hooch maids frequently said "kill cong" as we left for the airfield in the mornings. One morning I asked why she said that and got the answer "my husband was a village chief and the vc killed him in front of the whole village because he wouldn't support them. To protect her and others from the murderous commies, fascists and other bad people is why we fight. So how would hanoi jane and other leftist like to live under a dictatorship?

  • @dvdcnl I think we should brought Hanoi Jane up on charges of treason or at minimum denied her re-entry into the US stripped her of her citisenship after the bullshit she pulled. Misguided protestors are one thing, but she was an outright traitor.

  • Change the music !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 01JAN2012: I am an ex-soldier of the British Army. I have nothing but respect for the US (and other) forces that took part it that war. Was it worth it? Were mistakes made? Did our side do some bad things as well? Perhaps: but the boys who were put through that should be respected and honoured for the effort and sacrifice. It may have ended as a non-PC wwar, but that wasn't the fault of those who did their duty.

  • @Zanussiification Very well said, my respects to my British friends especially those that serve their fine military serving their country too!

  • @WolfieRed1

Our SAS dislike working with your Seals. You Americans are to noisy, and let down the likes of me.

  • @Zanussiification also respect the Vietnamese who put up a tough fight

  • @Zanussiification Well said mate..... well said

  • @Zanussiification A war for a False Flag Operation Golf of Tarkin Incident, yes all kept in the dark about that part including you, Indoctrination sickness anyone?

  • @Zanussiification Well said brother.

  • @Zanussiification i just have to say, in a fair world your right but in the real world your statment makes no sense. bro innocent people died on a pack of lies (gulf of tonkin incident) now said to be a lie by the US government. this war caused th edeaths of ~3 million vietnamese. where is your sense of compassion and understanding, is it hard to comprehend the pain felt by people who dont look or act like we do ? let us just respect, love and show dignity to eachother ?

  • @Zanussiification Not "perhaps" IT WAS DEFINITELY BLOODY WELL DONE!

Some estimates put the total dead at 2.5 friggin million! What sort of "duty" is it to go village by village rape the women and children (Yes children were raped!) and then round them up, kill them and move on to the next village?!

What kind of "duty" is it to drop agent orange and other chemical biological weapons that even till today affect thousands of vietnamese!

THERE WAS NO HONOUR OR MERCY IN THIS WAR!

  • @lSaif

Really? You forgot to say where you were at in-country when that raping went on. Don't just tell half the story... where were you at, when?

  • @mnpd007 Seriously whatever you wrote makes no sense, sort out your grammar. If you mean how I know this happened, I'll give you an example look at the Mai Lai massacre.

Women and children were mass raped and around 300 of them were rounded up and executed and mutilated in the most despicable and barbaric ways.

  • @lSaif

You understood me. I'm 60 years old, and unlike you I was there '70-71. And, I never saw anyone raped. My Lai? Like you I heard of it. The difference is that I knew My Lai isn't representative of that war... it was an aberration. You on the other hand, with your uninformed bias, think that it was just all one big My Lai from start to finish. You would do well to set aside your emotions and learn some fact before forming an opinion.

  • @mnpd007 The War crimes happened, the massacres happened and this isn't just a one off no way in hell is it a one off, 2.5million people don't just die like that.

Northern Vietnam was carpet bombed, Agent orange which is a chemical biological weapon was dropped all over Vietnam and it continues to kill people to this day due to conamination and mutation. Not only that Napalm was dropped all over Vietnam.

It wasn't a one off massacre, it was nothing less then a genocide.

  • @lSaif Loves Jane Fonda.

  • @lSaif MORON. thanks for posting, Wolfie
