Josie Crashes the tire, March 2009

AWW poor baby, she jumped too soon, that's what it looked like to me. But she right back up and was ready for the next obstacle!

Oh my goodness! She is a tough little girl. Glad to hear she is okay. I wonder if the tape being so different on the bottom (and not on the top) played into her misjudging it. She is so experienced at jumping there had to be something. Glad she is okay :)

Thanks, yes, I'm not sure what it was, but it was definitely something. She's never crashed the tire before, and this was one helluva way to start... :-/

Thankfully she bounced right back and is no worse for the wear!

I'm not familiar with USDAA - is the break-away or split tire approved for competition? Are many clubs going this way?

The break-away tire is under review to standardize the specs on it. Hopefully we start to se them everywhere. !!

Horrible to watch. This is why we invented the splitting tyre here in Denmark. Which is now mandatory at all agility competitions. It has saved many dogs from getting injured.

Oh my God! That's insanely scary. I AM SOOO sorry you had to go through that. That looked painful just watching her face. =( Poor Jos. I'm so glad she's alright. Goodness though, your poor dogs are getting hurt left and right. Poor Josie. Shimmy says she's proud of Josie for being such a tough cookie. :)

I know, and it was weird -- there are a number of big dogs that took off too early, too. She was the only one to have a phenomenal crash, but lots of dogs ticked it pretty hard. Must have been some strange optical illusion going on there.

I know. I had to edit the whole video with my eyes nearly shut. I couldn't stand to watch it -- I'd look away every time the crash was about to happen. Poor monkey :(

Also goes to show that early jumping is hazordes. I think break away jumps are absolutly nessisery. So sad. Made me cringe. I don't feel to confindent with my little dog ending up like that, especaily being so old.

I think break away tires should be mandatory, 4th bad tire accident I've seen this year and it's only April... I hope Josie is doing okay, poor pup.

Thanks - she is fine, just took her about a week to recover fully. It could have been so much worse!
