  • This dude is funky for no damn reason...

  • @where is he at ??

  • i miss damu!

  • Im grateful these sounds passed through my headphones into my ears ,imposible mabe but it feels like it traveled through my body also. - an Experience. ;}

  • ok, there is not a damned thing wrong with that second beat!

  • i love it

  • any one kno the name of beat at 0:26

  • Damu, please put these up on bandcamp, I would pay for them in a heart beat.

Some of the sickest beats Ive heard from you.

  • dilla used this jawn too, nah?

  • @justsid yep Dilla's remix of Fall In Love

  • Aight this beat at 2:06 is fucking killing me. I'm gonna try to rip the vid and put some eq on the vid and see how it turns out. The fuckin melodies are drivin me wild.

  • Lmao cazper

  • dude where can i buy an mpc?

  • @CAZPERsayz I recommend sites like eBay or craigslist if you wanna get one for a cheaper price. If your trying to buy a brand new one though places like guitar center or possibly any local music stores might be your best option. I think I seen an mpc even at best buy

  • @OnlyRawAudio WORD

  • @CAZPERsayz

look on craigslist, if you're not to rural you can find a bunch for sale

  • that one towards the beginning has some of the same saple from Rockstars by Non-Phixion in it. I dont know what the original is, but its made some nice beats

  • I'd like to buy the beat that transitions in at 1:13.

  • beat at 2:07 KILLIN' IT

  • Number three!

  • i loved all these tracks man. so deep and beautiful.. can't describe it.

  • 2nd beat was my favorite lol

  • yo this dude used to have mad beats on his page but he took them down i used to vibe so hard to them u know if i can find them anywhere else?

  • beat at 2:12....BmH. that beat is fire damn. i always come back just tolisten to that one. any one know where i can get the finished one?

  • the last beat he played was immense! jazz at its best!

  • first beat is fiiiree

  • I hope I can make beats like this in 2 years ^^

  • I love the heavy jazz influence on the older stuff!

  • how does he save one complete beat on one floppy?

  • @cap0n3 the mpc 2000 has a floppy drive in it, most people use SCSI drives

  • insparathion

  • Damu and I are from the first Generation Of Sampling Engineers, his Sampling Parsing Methods are from the first civilization of Patriarchs, this why he can sound this way.

  • 2:05 beat is so raw mmhmm.

any cats know where i can cop that?

  • yo someone please tell me that openin guitar solo at 0:24 has a seperate joint with just it

shit is so dope i have dreams of it

  • @3clipsing1nnocenc3 the beat is a Dilla sample. Its the Fall in Love remix by Slum Village

  • DOPE beats from Damu, as always!!! DJ PEAK

  • Damu obviously has higher standard than many other hip hop producers, but I thought those beats were good! I love the setting, by the way, just a MPC, turntables and huge record collection... That's raw!

  • how can i get my drums sound like that?

  • sample from original breaks (to get the grittiness), double up on your kicks and snares (meaning, set ur mpc or whatever you use to trigger 2 different kicks and snares at the same time. 2 drums hitting at the same time gives it an extra bang), also, look for folders and packs of sp1200 drums (you can find them online). sp1200 drums already sound raw). i dunno...i hope that helped some.

  • can't get enough of this man's beats yo....a legend in the making....

  • 3:35 haha " mm mm :( "

  • for me this is best quality! 5 stars from germany

  • This guy is rapidly becoming a Pete Rock for this generation!!

Wish his stuff was a bit better sound quality tho... Its so good!

  • premier used that sample for Rock Stars by Non-Phixion @ like 1:08 and 1:14

  • niceley great

  • Damn Damu you're VERY critical of your stuff, saying how you wouldn't use that second beat - you even sound disgusted with it!! lol. You're a true artist man. Never complacent or settling when you know you got more.. just know all the beats are HOTNESS! lol. Peace......

  • @spearmintt

ya man that one was amazing lol

  • the remix that is...

    watch?v=A6yMYJCkT8s

  • same sample as the remix..

  • haha yeah dont know why im getting negatives

  • his throwaway stuff is just as filthy as his keepers. thats just my opin.

  • The drums on that first one are too fresh, love that extreme high eq'ing on the snare and hats

  • I think thats just bad video quality lol

  • lol anyways it sounds tight!

  • Damu kicks all the other producers asses

  • Fire!! T.R.O.Y. hip-hop, hip-hop... need to bring it back to the Golden Era... RIP

  • D.O.P.E

  • no matter how old or new your vids are they never disappoint. Much props fam. Respect to the boom bap

  • OH DAMN! EARgasm

  • are the drums on these joints 1/16 (3) quantize?

    just trying to educate myself

  • They're quantized to a 1/16th triplet, most likely, because a heavy 1/16th swing isn't a tight enough swing. Peace.

  • Y ARE YOU SO ILL!!!!

  • Niiiccceeee!!!!!!

  • Its crazy...the 2nd beat he played is fire and he's sayin he woulden't bump that joint no more.but i feel him on why he said that

I've only been in this game for 4 months and i've already dashed away atleast 10 beats cause a week after i made it....i went a made something better

Keep up the good work homie

  • I think the main reason is because the main samples to make both the first and second beat have been used before...(first beat on slum village - fall in love and second on Non Phixon - Rock Stars)

  • do you know what iz the second beat name?

or a link where i can check this in better quality...

  • fuckkkkkkkk that is soooooo dopeeeeeeeeee

  • Dope

  • nice

  • joint #3 @ 3:37 is my favorite. hes mixes it at the end of a song on one of his cd's . shame he aint bump out those songs i rlly dig

  • how could you reject that joint that you said you wouldn't use? pure flames, man, pure flames.

  • dont fall in love :) check the slum village fall in love remix

  • that's tight

  • beat number 2 was dope for real...

  • The beat which starts at 0:50 is dope as hell! =)

  • example 50 cent lyrics,

fuck with me and il kill you (wich every rapper nowdays say(commercial)

    is that a positive picture?

now if someone listen to that dont he get hype?

music has a bigger influence on people then ya think

  • yea right.... music is the voice of your soul

  • When it hits in a 2:16 is raw. Reminds me of the native tounge era in the early 90's. some tribe called quest joint. why not use it?

  • Because He's so Much better The beat doesn't apply anymore

  • The second beat is such the raw, street vibe music we need in today's game. We havent had a street anthem like Juicy, Shook Ones or The world is yours in the last decade

  • you can see this is real hiphop it gets so little vieuws, and a kid with wack fl or reason beats gets 10000 plays ,half claim to be real hiphop but aint support it!!so they aint real hiphop

    this is that real shit

  • does is it have to have 10000 plays.. nah man..Things are kept best when its not for the mass appeal.

  • well ask yaself this, nowdays alot of violence in hiphop (because of hiphop) if everyone listend to this type of hiphop there will be more peace, why wanne ceep that a secret?;)

  • 1st lot a violence cause of hiphop is bullshit.

2nd there wont be more peace if more people listend to this.

and third you cant push something that people dont wanna hear or see. Its gotta come naturally. cant force it.

    now lets enjoy the music.

  • he need no software, mpc,s and older gear the shit

  • this is beatmaker porn!

    floppies, wax and an MPC....

  • what a sick dude damu is man

  • Such a tight beat.

  • Comment removed

  • do you EQ? use compression or effects?

Or is it all just straight up raw!?!?

This is quite beatiful, even your older stuff.

  • i read in an interview Damu dont use any compression or effects...

    just straight up RAW SHIT!

  • SHITZ FIYA'

  • i heard the first beat from one of his albums that i have.. i just cant remember..

  • had the fire back then too!

  • Hahaha it's funny that the one that he said he wouldn't use is everyone's favorite.

  • yo that first beat with the strings is stupid FiRE. i wish i could loop that shit and listen to it all day instrumental.

  • what's wrong with him? why wouldn't he use any of these?

  • dats wat i said man i could buy this shit flow 2 it wile im getting high on everithing

  • great sound

  • u inspired me more in a sense, i never thought younger people than me will ever grasp the true school style.

its one thing to grab and record and sample, but finding that sample having ears for certain sounds is a totally individualized talent thing.

    much blessings to u

  • YO im tired of seeing heads say this person used that this person used that too...

    re use stuff!!!

    real dope DAMU

  • best slept on producers revitalizing hip hop:

    damu and boonie hands down

  • damn dude killin it!

  • ohhh...2nd beat has the same sample as non phixion-rock stars...good shit...damu is one of the dopest out now

  • IT just hit me that Dilla used the guitar loop in the first beat. Regardless, fresh beats here.

  • thanks for the Overtime release. Nice beats nice beats :).

  • I think the first beat he played had a sample from a slum village song... i think it was "fall in love" remix or something produced by jay dee.. second joint had a familiar sounding sample too.. and no im not calling him out on anyything... damu freaks these records well!

  • C'mon Daum, stop teasin' us and release an instrumental album already...hahaha...j/k...keep doin' your shit--representin' the music I love the "right way"

  • 'Spare Time' is pretty much an instrumental album (there are like 2 songs on it with lyrics)

  • Damu is making HIP HOP how it should be done, RAW..

  • Pretty sure Damu sent this to us as an exclusive clip for being true to his music.

  • fuck everybody that aint feelin this shit. this is on some real hip hop shit.

  • WORD !!!!!!!!!!!! So sick!!

  • @MonstaCh1ld there's peopel that aint feeling this shit for real? Ahaha FUCK THAT !

  • Damn man! Thanx once again for the great music.

  • I hope this shows the doubters once and for all that Damu has his own unique sound, neither Pete Rock nor Premo--and a welcome one at that, too: beat #2 is DOPE: you ARE killin' it!!!! Peace.
