Can't remember exactly where I learned this, but back on my college days I learned to make croutons by sautéing them in the olive oil and seasonig them while hot. This is much simpler looking, and cleaner. Will give it a try. Now I use all my bread pieces to make my own bread crumbs. Taste's much better than store bought.
You sure could! That and crush them up smaller for great 'shake and bake' or just wait until the crouton bag is empty of all but tasty crouton crumbs!
I was making croutons at home for the first time yesterday, and i should of watched this video first because it took me a whole hour hour to make them with raw meterials.
Thanks for the response! They should last quite a while in the freezer then. I am always tossing out half a loaf of bread because it goes bad before used. Now I know what to do with it.

Hope you enjoy them! We can't go back to store bought croutons anymore - they just taste like....nothingness.
Sorry the long delay in my reply - we've been on the road and super busy!

Great video. I love all your kitchen tips and tricks.
I'm thinking you could also use the bread cubes to make stuffing?

I keep them on the shelf for a few weeks at a time - a couple - in a ziplock baggie.
Thank you - you are very kind.
