I'm currently playing it.Can anyone tell me when it's gonna get good ? I'm currently in chapter 3 and pretty much everything is repetitive and pointless. I mean I'm collecting partners like pokemon but that's it, it's boring me to death.

@SoapMacTavishh You're probably done with the game by now xD But for any others still playing and wondering when the game gets good: Definitely chapter 4. Follow a spoiler-free guide for the A ending; it's the only ending that matters, and the requirements for it aren't "obvious" to the new player.

what problem has the PSP version? it's the only one I played and is my all time favorite game since I was even born (I'm still young) what have I missed?

The PSP version is actually better, The anime scenes are now in CG. The game is on a portable system, I think PSP is not as popular compare to the DS. That's one of the reason why this game is not known by too many people. I love this game though.

what the uploader meant was that the PsP's soundtrack lacks the charm of the ps1 version. I haven't actually played the PSP version myself but i feel that his accusation would make sense considering most ports.

I remember the local family video having this up for $10 around the time PS2's came out. I always regretted not buying it before someone else got it. Me and my friend ended up blowing $125 to get this a few years ago. It's still worth every penny though.

By far my fav track from this game! Out of curiosity, why do you think the PSP version didn't do it justice? I thought they were basically the same aside from the CG cutscenes. Which, I thought, were better acted but detracted from the game a little because the voices jumped back and forth from game to CG scene. Otherwise I dont recall much difference, and it beats spending hundreds of dollars trying to get the original on Ebay IMO. But maybe I overlooked something? Just curious!

@onikage725 The PS1 North American release was an improved version, but the PSP version was based of the European release. Also, the voice acting was redone for every character other than the Valkyrie. Or so I've heard.

Ehhh... I heard about this game. I bought it because they had previews in it in some PS magazine. Well, that and because Enix made it, and I totally loved SO2 <_<
