American football looks like the same thing. center snaps the "ball", quarter back throws, receiver catches, gets tackled, repeat 2 times. Commerical break, timeout, comercial break, boring replay analysis, etc. But at least it has some movement. Baseball is just standing around really, only movement is from pitcher.

After enduring many Mickie D commericals, I asked myself: "is this final worth the punishment?" I skipped to the last part, and it actually got interesting in the end. @nigerfooty4life Well speed isnt the only thing to plaay certain positions, Wide Receiver takes some skill cuz you have to jump up and catch the ball while fighting with the defensive back for it. So, while watching a whole baseball game, you see fat men standing around for ages.

@FordCopChrist1995 Yup, that's the mentality of americans. They can't think too complex. (for example: nascar) Soccer is like chess; you need to think to a lot of strategies and tactics to be able to get even close to the other team's net. The american football kinda takes the idea of the movie "Idiocracy". Give us full action, we get bored and our heads hurt if we think too deep or complex!

Yeah right, american football is almost all stragedy, you must execute the right plays to outsmart the other team both defensively and offensively. Team have coaches dedicated to it, (coordinators). Its pretty much a battle between the two. Soccer is just random kicking back and forth until you get close enought to take a shot.

@FordCopChrist1995 Coaches (coordinators) make all the plans. The players, just play by them. In football , the players themselves make the tactics by shouting go there come here , talking about what positions to go to , where to open a counter-attack, how to start the match , what formation they should be on. So it's not only the coach who makes the plans , the players actually think.

You could make any sport sound simple, ANY. To most people, NFL looks like a sumowrestling competition with one guy (who looks odd compared to theirs) throwing a ball into a mob of people, through a flurry of timeouts, commercials, missed passes, fefrees measuring out distances... It really is mind-numbing for a lot of people.

Players are taking out opponents one by one, looking for holes, commiting defenders and then changing pace in an instant. If that doesnt work then they take the aerial route and pass it to the wingers to put in crosses.

Football has highlihghts. They dont do a good job in US of covering the games. When I watc highlights, i see goal scoring chances, close shots, dribbles and skills,etc.

@FordCopChrist1995 But with baseball, even if you DO, understand it,most games can be dull. Ive read articles of FORMER baseball players saying baseball is dull. Based on your view of what sport is boring, you could say the NBA is boring because its just "guys throwing a fat ball into a hole,no strategy". It might look that way, but at least with basketball the players are constantly moving. WIth baseball, the fat players are too slow to move an inch for ages. Just look at the video again.

You want to compare to a typical touchdown to Ronaldinho beating almost ever player on the field (without HOLDING the ball, see how much more skill that takes?) and then scoring a beauty.American football highlights are usually basically the same thing, diving catches. Same with baseball. I admit watching NFL highlights is more fun than watching the whole game. too many breaks in the game itself. Too boring.

I didn't get interested in american football until last season because i learned the rules, before it was boring to me, now its the best entertainment on tv.

@FordCopChrist1995 I understand the rules. I have Madden NFL games, and I play pick up games with friends. Its still boring to watch a sport with constant breaks, and stoppages. American football looks like the same thing. center snaps the "ball", quarter back throws, receiver catches, gets tackled, repeat 2 times. Commerical break, timeout, comercial break, boring replay analysis, etc. But at least it has some movement. Baseball is just standing around really, only movement is from pitcher.

@nigerfooty4life Well the stoppage it meant so the team can come together to discuss the play unless your watching Peyton Manning with the Colts cuz he does no huddle offense a lot, now thats a show. American Football is unpredictable you never know what might happen next, there have been some crazy ass comebacks, the best being the Buffalo Bills coming back from a 35-3 half time deficit to win the game.

The misses that forced athletic world class saves, and were just inches wide make for a thrilling match. The batter in baseball MISSES MORE THAN ANY FOOTBALLER WILL. So why are you complaining about a diving header that forces a world class reaction save from a goalkeeper like Casillas? Its pure ignorance, I tell you.

All it was was the pitcher throwing the ball to the back catcher the whole time. THe outielders never fielded the ball, the batter never TOUCHED the ball". Do they say that like you say with football? HELL naw! Its AMERICA'S PASTTIME. They say: "what a great pitching duel. It was real fascinating to watch that amazing pitching duel". I shake my head..

@FordCopChrist1995 Like I said, unless you love beer commercials, or you are an American who understands the rivalries in the NFL (which I assume you are), watching a 4 hour game with only 11 mins of actually playing, with over 3 hours of timeouts and Mc D commercials, NFL is quite dull. I only enjoy it when Im playing it myself, or Im playing Madden. And, apparently 80% of the world HATES a sport with constant commercials. 700 million viewers for WC final. 100 mil for superbowl. says it all.

@FordCopChrist1995 But hey, its subjective. If i miss an EPL game on Sundays, I start kicking myself. The World cup final is the most watched live show on TV every year its on. No quaterback "showdown" compares to Ronaldinho or Messi in the zone. You wont see one guy beating every player on the field without picking up the ball in NFL. No bending freekicks, acrobatic headers, 1 2 combination plays, etc. To watch entertaining football/soccer, watch Arsenal, barcelona, or Chelsea play.

@FordCopChrist1995 I tuned in to the Superbowl between the Colts and the Saints, mostly because it was a game with a lot of hype built up. I found it hard to give attention, I watched 2 mins of the game, something would look exciting & would end in a tackle, a comerical break. After enduring many Mickie D commericals, I asked myself: "is this final worth the punishment?" I skipped to the last part, and it actually got interesting in the end. Best NFL game ive ever watched, still didnt excite me.

@FordCopChrist1995 Whoever told you that the recent world cup final was the best football game ever doesnt know anything about football. The game was physical, but it got out of hand. The game broke the record for the most yellow cards in World cup history. One example, two players gong for the same ball. one of the players rasises his cleats and nails the opponent square in the chest. The match was not bad, but it wasnt the best world cup final match ive ever seen.

@FordCopChrist1995 How are diving saves boring? Whatever man, you like baseball and yet the best batters in baseball cant hit the ball 30% of the time. You dont like it because you dont understand it. Simple. An NFL equivalent of what you're saying would be to say NFL sucks because tackling is allowed, so players cant just run through every time and score like they do in basketball. NFL is boring because of the breaks and the lack of flow, better justification than "almost every shot blocked"

Plus in football you need stragedy to play, certain coaches are hired just to call plays to strageize. Its pretty much like war, very interesting to watch. I dont mind playing soccer but watching it is mind numbing, same shit the whole game, ball kicking back and forth with several missed shots and little scoring...yawn

Why is a baseball a battle to you? because youve grown around baseball and you understand it. Indoctrination has something to do with it too. but the view that you look at football, could be applied to baseball EXTREMELY well. When this applies to baseball more than anything. And this back and forth kicking is called passing. Whats so wrong with passing the ball? Is hockey not basically back and forth hitting the puck. What about basketball, dont they throw the ball "back and forth". Or do they do it while riding magic broomsticks?

But the way I see it, it the only position that takes real skill. its the only position where the players that fill the position have been playing AF since they were little. WIth other positions, you could have just been playing for a year, and still make it. Look at Usain bolt. There's people suggesting that he could make a good WR. And hes probably never played AF before. But because hes fast...

@nigerfooty4life Well speed isnt the only thing to plaay certain positions, Wide Receiver takes some skill cuz you have to jump up and catch the ball while fighting with the defensive back for it. Otherwise yes all you need is strength and motive but its still great to watch. Kicking a ball back and forth isn't really skill, anyone can do that.

Watch Ronaldinho on youtube and tell me thats not skill. And we've already been through his. its more than just kicking back and forth. You could make any sport sound simple ,by just ignorance. Bending a shot around a defense and placing it into the corner of the net takes miles more skill than running past 300 tubbies.

And baseball has got to be the most boring sport of all. I know that if you know little about the tactics of football/soccer you might find it boring. But it doesnt mean its boring, as 700 million people watched the WC final and only 100m for the superbowl. It depends on where you are from. a lot of the time.

LIke evolution" by baseball athletes and enthusiasts alike, in that same country. Baseball looks like fat men (using steroids and chewing on tobacco) standing around for 9 innings, wearing gloves 2'wice their size and not moving an inch for hours. And only 1 player actually does anything for a period of time.

@FordCopChrist1995 And all the diving catches dont come from the most important positions in the game. You never see pitcher highlights (like, "check this guy's pitch out. WOW, what a pitch.". compared to "check out that amazing overhead kick or that amazing curling freekick"). You never see batter highlihgts. ANd yet 85% of the game takes place at these two positions. So, while watching a whole baseball game, you see fat men standing around for ages.
