My grandfather had a C&W BAND IN THE WAR YEARS.MY DAD IS THE ELDEST OF 9 KIDS.SO HE WOULD ALWAYS PLAY THE MUSIC HE HAD GREW UP WITH IN OUR HOME AS I WAS GROWING UP. FOR SOME REASON THIS SONG WAS ONE OF OUR FAVS.IT MUST HAVE INSPIRED ME FOR I MARRIED MY FILIPINO BABY.SHE IS BEYOND A DOUBT THE BEST THING THAT EVER HAPPENED TO ME.I LOVE YOU SHIE
John Roger Simon wrote a very interesting book on Cowboy Copas. The title is "Cowboy Copas and the Golden Age of Country Music. It can be purchased on Amazon.com
When I was growing up my dad played this a lot. I love it. I was about 18 or 19 before I learned that Ernest Tubb had the first recording of it. I am a big fan of both singers so I like both versions. Thanks for posting.
....Love it, Thanks....

Boy this sure takes me back a few years. I have this by Ernest Tubb, but i think Cowboy Copas does a better job on it. Thanks for posting.
