This was a onesided argument, Ron didin't really get chance to state his view. This is the perfect example of why mainstream must fall during the new American Revolution.
The American Patriots who stand for rights and liberties will rise yet again to fight of tyranny in our political, educational, science, religious, and financial institutions.
This other guy interrupted him every time he talked and the moderator didn't do anything! When you watch debates each person usually gets a chance to talk...
Now, the TRAITORS have begun to act openly in their subjegation of the Constitution.
THESE TRAITORS CANNOT GOVERN WITHOUT CONSENT!
WE NOW HAVE OPEN WAR!
The options we have before us are: 1. Destroy the union through secession, 2. grand jury indictments against the traitors, 3. open violent war, or 4. creating alternatives in the open.
Then you must be urging perhaps secession or the grand jury indictments? Alternatives?
If you don't want open war, I hope you're vociferously advocating and working towards a non violent alternative to the federal tyranny we're subjected to.
If you're going to wish to slow one of the options, then please do advocate a COURSE OF ACTION within your alternative.
Otherwise, continue to sit on the sidelines and be quiet.
What about not legalizing it but remove any law enforcement regarding marijuana? People might be against legalizing it because they see it as a stamp of approval.
Unfortunately, theres too much propaganda about the evils of MJ and other illegal drugs that the stamp of approval argument is hard to overcome. Alcohol and tobacco have a stamp of approval, although tobacco has a strong a campaign against it now. Wen people learn that prescription drugs are just as harmful if not more so they will understand drugs. M mom has cancer. Question: which is killing her faster? The meds from the doctor or the cancer? The healthcare system is screwed up.
Well no actually, after using merijuana for a while I went through the "gateway" to harder drugs out of curiosity, not because of the government banning the substance. But nevertheless, so what if it's a gateway drug? it's none of your business, it's not the role of government to protect you from yourself!
Exactly. But there are people, you might find some of them around you that will say, "the role of government is to govern! That is, govern your behavior and your life."
There's only 2 solutions. Either, you legalize it and let the free market take care of it, or you prohibit it in such a way that no one can have it. The current system is that of letting the mafia/syndicate have a monopoly on the drug trade and that's what really causing the problem.
The mafia... and gov involvement, importing drugs. The US gov's playing both sides of the game. Too much money involved not to. Do you know how much money your local police get from the war? There's a huge incentive to keep this going. It's also a great way to oppress urban minorities (sarcasm intended).
White power players will never want to end the drug war -- it wouldn't be the "Christian" thing to do. They aren't affected in their gated communities, and profit from it in various ways.
"Most of our history, believe it or not, had no drug laws. Prohibition has been an absolute failure for alcohol. Drug addiction is a medical problem. Its not a problem of the law. " Dr. Ron Paul, source: ontheissues(.)org/2007_GOP_Value_Voters(.)htm
Putting people in prison for weed is akin to sending checks to the Prison Industrial Complex.
GO RON PAUL
By the way, Obama, had he been busted for using cocaine and weed, two drugs that he has admitted to using, would never been allowed to run for the Presidency.
There are many types of marijuana and MOST are not lethal in any way, but, for some reason they throw all forms of hemp in the same category. The lumber and gas industries were the ones back in the early 1900's that forced the govt to criminalize hemp because it competed directly with their profits. Hemp makes clean fuel and great paper and should be legalized for commercial use. But as someone below stated, the CIA cartel is the problem.
He lied! Teen usage came down in one category! Hacks like him use the stats that best support their argument.! But teen usage is lower in the Netherlands as compared to here. And Most states with medical cannabis have also shown a drop in teen use! I wonder why? He is also a fear monger! Istook was a clod and the interview was not well controlled by the moderator.
Why doesn't Ron Paul just mention the fact that the CIA has been caught shipping heroin into the country and that this is documented? The 'War on Drugs' is a scam. They want medicinal cannabis to be illegal to benefit the profits of big pharma while they ship in the crack and heroin, and probably a lot of the black market cannabis too.
Another great documentary that exposes the drug war for the fraud it is and the fact that the government itself ships in the illegal drugs is called American Drug War
Marinol is more dangerous than cannabis in it's natural form. It's actually more psychoactive and also people have actually died from it unlike actual cannabis. Also it is not real thc, it's synthetic, which is why it's favored by the establishment controlled by the pharmaceutical industry. Also cannabis doesn't have to be smoked to be ingested, vaporizers are more effective and not damaging to the lungs. Even more effective is to extract the essential oil from the plant & eat it.
The documentary Run From the Cure which is available to watch on this site shows how this oil is an effective cure for cancer and almost every known disease.
Pills are no good when you are vomiting! If they charge $10 or more for Marinol, it would be a great cost to the patient, for a pill they just threw up. It would be wasted and provide no relief! It is not sensible to use it for that problem! But Pharma makes the money off of the pill. They would lose money if we were allowed to use cannabis! Moral of story: as usual FOLLOW THE MONEY
I got it now! in amsterdam the use of weed went down by citizens because it was legalised. THEREFOR the people behind the goverment don't want to legalise it because it will lead to less usage!!!! HA HA got ya(again)
