  • You make it look so easy....

  • best tutorial on centering ever! I had my ceremics prof. show me how to center many times and I was just not getting it. After watching your video ONCE not only is centering no longer a problem but others in the class keep asking me to show them the process I learned from your video.

  • @DTP1978APRIL Great to hear April!

  • Now why don't you have a splash guard?

  • @mariahthemennis9 Cindy throws very "dry". The splash pan just gets in the way. When throwing larger pieces as you will see in some of the videos here she uses quite large batts as well which require the pan to be gone. The advantage of having your own work space is you can make a mess when throwing and trimming and no one cares!

  • what kind of clay is this?

  • @bboyjayboogie It is a combination of two clays from Plainsman Pottery Supply based in Medicine Hat, Alberta. We found by combining a "toothy" clay with their standard "cream-cheesy M390" that we get a body with a nice colour that fires at the temperature we want that also has enough grog in it to stand up to larger throws.

  • @QiiBy

    How much clay was that?

    Was it about two pounds?

Because, my last class, the most clay I was allowed to use was fifth a pound [gosh...]. And, my new class this year allows two pounds. O: Big difference.

  • @fuzzlefluff Probably two or three pounds. We don't ever weigh our clay so can't say for sure. Hope your class is going good.
