  • You did a great job!!! You shouldn't worry about the negative comments that come your way! I am Hungarian and you made me proud with your knowledge!!!!

  • Some people are just bitter. I am so going to try this out when I'm feeling better.

  • Noreen! I must say thank you sooo much & send you many blessings! I have been trying to find just the right recipe for paprikash that my sweetie fondly remembers eating for many years, before I came into the picture 15 years ago. I've tried many but none were right until I ran across this video. I made it tonight (had to go find bone in chicken & Hungarian paprika) and both sweetie & his son are over the top happy, in there licking their fingers and scraping their plates. :) Thanks!!

  • Deliciosoooooooooooooooooooooooooo.. ;)

  • THANKS NOREEN FOR GIVING US A WONDERFUL RECIPE...I WILL BE TRYING IT AND I WILL ADD IT TO MY CULINARY BINDER.

  • I wanted to comment on "mean people". My theory , which has proven to be true is this. The worse someone feels about themselves the more critical they are of others. They don't like themselves, how dare someone be confident when they aren't.Here's a tip to the mealies. Look for the positive in others and pretty soon you'll like yourself better. It's hard to like yourself when you are an ugly person inside.

  • I love Chicken Paprikash! Your version looks wonderful and easier than mine.

  • and i forgot to say how i love ur videos,, ur comments and ur honesty and good nature and i thank you for all of that!

  • i loveeee the way u cook! u r great noreen!

  • Looks DELICIOUS!

  • just discovered you..i love your videos..my motto cause im a healthy lovin woman i simply tell my friends.. IF GOD WONT MAKE ME SKINNY HELP ME MAKE THEM FAT..SO I BAKE ALOT FOR MY CO-WORKERS..I LOVE YOU GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY

  • Sorry to hear about all the mean people. I am a culinary student and just wanted to give you a small tip on getting those fat pearls out of a sauce or soup. Simply cut strips of parchment paper and run them through the liquid and the grease will stick to the paper. Hope it helps in the future. It beats fishing them out. Good luck.

  • uhmmm and as far as the comments on weight.. gosh wow. I don't know about that one, but you'd think they'd be kinder as they are looking up how to cook, and you're teaching them.. and.. well... can't explain it other than they may be 12 and on dads pc or maybe just off the meds for a day? :o fuh-geht-abbout-it! ;D Hateful people just create bad ju ju for themselves! (thats what my hungarian auntie says!! :D

  • I only do a teeny bit different than your recipe and that would be (haha there are a million variations as you said right).. mine is that I add garlic and marjoram, and a bit of ground caraway. I don't saute the paprika, (just blend in after veggies are done sauteing) ..and also only use hungarian sweet, with a bit of hungarian smoked paprika and teeny bit of hot. It's all taste~ ;) I love your recipes! You're beautiful, what a nice dinner this is going to be! :D hugs from me to you! :D

  • People are just mean sometimes and I've learned that it's more about themselves than about the person they are taking it out on. Never let those words affect you they may be ugly, single because no one will date them and smelly. lol. you never know. What I see is that you have a loving relationship with your husband and that you two enjoy each other's company and belive me that's hard to get at any size. Sounds like a case of the green monster. Keep cookin girl! YOU ROCK! more veggie meals pls:)

  • What size is your pan? It looks enormous! I need one like that.

  • I JUST MADE THIS TODAY..... THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS RECIPE ..IT IS SOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOD I LOVE IT ....IT WILL BE ADDED AS A STAPLE IN MY HOUSE HOLD

  • that looked awesome...I:m definitely making this after 4th of july thanks for sharing!

  • about the nasty comments I want you to know that a lot of people beside being chronically stupid ,they are actually frustrated with their own life, so they make fun of others to feel better , you should feel sorry for them ,

    love yourself

  • nice video

  • I love all your videos!!! We need to be neighbors. We could take turn cooking, and have a canning party every so often. Can't wait for new videos! And I think your family is BEAUTIFUL!!! May God Bless all of you.

  • One more reply: I am sorry to hear that you have health issues to deal with. You and your family will be in my prayers!

  • Before my only child was born, I was a 16-18, and I looked good for it! At that time it seems like I became two people. I never wanted this hassle everyday, from certain people...in fact no one in my family is overweight...I tried everything to take the weight off. But it stubbornly stays...So I have had to adjust to a different life. Your comments got to me...I also have had to learn to be strong! That's the only advice I have to give stay strong! God luvs u, and we do too!

  • @recipelover123 You know, I think there comes a time when we all have to accept ourselves as we are. I have been this way my whole life. I come from Eastern European peasant stock. My Grandparents on my father's side are from Ungary and my Mothers from Germany & Italy. It is what it is. I have severe thyroid disorder as well as a couple other things, but my cholesterol is right on target and my blood pressure is actually low. I love life. They can just go away! You have to love yourself!

  • @atticus9799 hi excuse the typing but i have a fractured arm and this is the best i can do. i was diagnosed with hypothyroidism 40 years ago and took the thyroid meds. i became pregnant with my youngest and the hormone was discontinued. after the baby was born i tested on the low side of normal every time i had labs drawn. i took the online quiz for hypothyroidism - i scored as high as possible without presenting male symptoms. i am taking iodine now and feel an look much better. ty - duddie

  • Thank you, I've been looking for a good chicken paprikash recipe for over an hour and your looks the best. Altered it a bit and egg noddles was incredible! Again thanks:)

  • OH you just took me back!! We ate this on special occasions as a kid. We always had it over home made dumplings called Haluski. (which is not what Guy fererri made on his show)

  • Woooo Hoooo! You don't know how long I've searched for this particular recipe! My sis-in-law, who passed away 4 years ago, used to make this all of the time & I haven't had it since!!! Thank you so much! Looks delicious.

  • You sure have my mouth watering. I had chicken paprikash once in my life about 34 years ago, at the home of friends. It was served with homemade potato dumplings. I think yours looks better though. Thanks for sharing you recipe.

  • I am also a plus size woman with a love of cooking and making people happy with what I serve them. I'm so glad you have a positive way of handling this rude idiots who are obviously unhappy with themselves because people who ARE HAPPY DO NOT put other people down they lift others up. Please continue to bless us with your videos, you are a classic American cook with a love of good quality ingredients and a passion for feeding your family well, thank you for sharing that with us all!

  • I have been watching your videos All day today! I just discovered your youtube channel, and i LOVE it! thanks for the great videos and please keep on posting!! I love cooking, and I feel like we have the same style and share some of the same recipes. I've also learned a lot from your videos. i can't wait to make chicken paprikash tomorrow for dinner! Thanks again, Noreen!!!

  • I have made two of your recipes so far and have a list for the store for another :) Lov it, thanks for letting into your home and your recipe book...

  • Miss Noreen I love your channel,, dont let fools bring you down.. God is good and we need to pray for fools!

  • Those people who judge your weight, are just jealous because they don't know how to cook. Thumbs up if you agree.

  • I looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooove your videos.. Pleaase make moooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooore :)

  • Woo...I just found your channel! I love you style of cooking and your kitchen! Glad to see you're not going to let haters get you down. Keep up the good work....I'm off to watch all your videos now :D

  • When I was little my grandma made Chicken Heart Paprikash (a variant of this dish with chicken hearts and cabbage) for the family. No one, but my grandma, grandpa and I liked it. In my entire life she made it only 3 times before she passed away. It is one of the dishes I just randomly crave, but have never EVER found a version of it as much like what she made as what you have here. I thank GOD for you. Seriously.

  • i loved this video! i've not tried the recipe, yet, but i can't wait to try it. it looks so good! thank you for sharing this!

in regards to people getting ugly & leaving nasty feedback about you and your family- i'm sincerely sorry for that. :/ i am glad you block them, though.

hope to see more hungarian recipes! :) last year, i bought some various kinds of paprika pepper seeds, from a hungarian seller on ebay & am going to try my hand at growing & making my own paprika! :D

    thank you again!

  • Noreen, please ignore the rude comments. I enjoy watching your video's. The folks that feel they need to insult or put down others, are suffering from low to no self esteem. We all know that they put people down to try and make themselves look good. I would like to say I am sorry for the folks that have insulted you, husband, children. KARMA is something that comes back times 3. Keep making your videos!

  • Ohh Noreen We love you soo much! You are a joy to watch and Im always soo very happy when a new video pops up. You are appriciated!!

  • I know I'm excited to eat it. Im hungry :) YUMMY! I know what we having for dinner tomorrow. I LOVE your videos and look forward to every new one you post. My kids even eat your recipes and that my friend is what makes you a winner.

  • I can't believe that people would say nasty about you or your cooking. I was lucky one day to stumble upon your page while looking for corn beef recipe and I think that your dishes are wonderful and wish that i could cook like you. I believe some people have personal issues and like to take out their frustration on others. From what i see you have a beautiful personality and you cook from your heart. Keep doing these videos and forget about those jerks =)

  • Looks delish! I am going to buy the ingredients tonight. Thx! Amy

  • Can you tell me the size of the pan that you used? Is it a paella pan?

  • love all your videos... never stop posting them.

  • Hi Noreen! Those "people" can just go to he## as far as I'm concerned. I love you, your channel, your wonderful recipies, your family, and you are beautiful, inside and out!! So happy you're on FB. Sally :)

  • seriously? I had this at a restaurant one time and loved it and it looked so complicated to make I chickened out in trying to find a recipe...it doesn't look so bad though. might give it a shot when we can afford chicken again.

  • Wait...what's wrong with your appearance? I dunno *shrugs* I always thought you were a beautiful woman *shrugs* I dunno maybe that's just me? I hope not though, you get into someone's family and that's a whole other ball game that no one wants to play especially when it involves kids.

  • i like your short hair it suits you well

  • Hi Noreen, I'm a big fan of your videos, I tried to make them Kiflis, they were yummy but didn't turn out like yours, also I know this Is a lot to ask but Its my birthday on the 1st Feburary, and it would be great to get a special Birthday recipie / video, thanks and keep up the good work.

  • you seem so nice and cool :D

  • Miss Noreen, I just wanted you to know, when your channel pops up in my Subscriptions, it just makes my whole day!! Nobody on here cooks like you do! I couldn't even watch this recipe until I had been to the store to get chicken thighs because I knew it would just frustrate me! For however many ugly people are on here, I'll bet you have tenfold (at least!!) who think you've hung the moon!

  • @mommafletch Thank you so much for your lovely comment. I really appreciate knowing that you enjoy my videos! I love making them and I don't do it for any other reason, but that I enjoy sharing what I do and getting the feedback from everyone on here. I am always going to have some people who don't want to play nice. I really don't let them bother me, but I wanted to put it out there that it will not be tolerated and yes, I have lots more viewers who are a blessing just like you! Thanks!

  • Noreen, I had a thought for when I make this..I thought you might want to try it sometime. I too love those noodles you spoke of, but yes they do take time when you are trying to get a meal on the table. I'm going to try using potato gnocci...they are sold frozen and are light little puffs of potato "pasta"..sorta taste like a spoonful of mashed potatoes in a cloud. Just another option. Blessings, Tess

  • Noreen, I am so sorry some people are so rotten to leave nasty comments about your family. I think you are a gem and you have a very beautiful family. That is what everyone wants for themselves so they are probably jealous that you have a nice family and they do not. I love your videos and I think you are a great person. take care and dont let those meanies hurt you, its their problem not yours.

  • I love your recipes and videos Noreen!! My niece knows what I'm watching when she hears "I'm going to fix you a plate! Because I know your hungry!" LOL!! She asks "Is that the 'Whats for dinner' lady??" lol You're awesome! You and your family. Take care! Can't wait for more vids :)

  • Noreen, you rock! Don't let the losers get to you, it wouldn't be fair for you to get into a battle of wits with these people because they are obviously unarmed. Keep up the great work that you do! If there were more of you, this world would be a better place.

  • Shoot...I'm a little disappointed. I guess all the troll remarks have been removed. I was gonna go after 'em. Dang it! And you know I'm good at it too! Grrrrrrrrrr!

  • I am always disappointed and saddened when I hear that people leave hurtful nasty comments rather than praise. Some people forget that you don't have to share your recipes or time but that you have chosen to do so for that - they should be thankful. Negative people love to pull people down to their level - misery loves company. Please keep doing what you are doing - your videos are great and much appreciate :D

  • Loved this ,I too make this passed down from my grandmother .I do make this several times a year...The main difference is that my grandmother always made homemade drop noodles..Yummy....Thank You so much..Ignore them they are a cancer unto themselves...GOD Bless you and your family...

  • It looks delicious Noreen, my mouth is watering just watching you make it, i love watching your videos. And take no notice of the sad people who leave nasty comments they're not worth it, you're a beautiful person the world would be a better place if more people were like you. xXx

  • @Cute4ever0005 Not that I need to defend myself, as I am sure others will assist me, when I said this was a day off recipe I eluded to the fact that this was a long process and should not perhaps be done on a busy weeknight. Apparently you did not watch the remainder of the video where I spoke about trolls. Thanks for watching and commenting and BTW if you have a nice MLK day recipe, you should do a video, I'm sure the rest of us would like to see your smiling face.

  • @atticus Ignore him, Noreen. He'd have been the first to bitch that you offered a MLK day meal made from chicken. You'd a "racist". We all have to learn to let bitter/angry people like this guy just eat their own guts out: As a very wise man once told me: "Acid destroys the container in which it is held, far more than that it is spilled upon.". On that subject, we think you look very nice & enjoy your happy smile. Your family is also very good looking. Ignore the shits, youre too good for 'em

  • @Pattycakessmiles Thanks, your comment made me cry. I try to keep a tough outer shell, but inside, well, you know.

  • @atticus9799 I know, dolly. I get hurt too...actually I think we hurt most over the fact that supposed human beings could be so cruel for no reason at all to what should be our sisters and brothers. Noreen, you are a class act, and deeply admired, as you should be. Try to remember that when peckerwoods appear. Love, tess

  • @atticus9799 If someone's lookin' for a reason to get their drawers in a knot, they're gonna find it. MLK day recipe...give me a break.

  • @atticus Remember Rick's chili video of 11/7/10? " I'm Rick & lucky enough to be married to Noreen Atticus9799" And I can see from watching your vids that its true. No matter how harried your day, your priority is to try to give your family a nice meal to come home to. I'm also blessed to be married to a fantastic lady like yourself. (she's a big fan of yours), & I know how lucky our familes are. Daily I hear guys lament that their sz 2 wives are too busy at the gym etc. to cook for theirs.

  • Noreen you are a strong, confident woman. You are beautiful and very intelligent, the only reason why people leave mean comments is becuase they think it makes them look cool. I am a large woman myself and I think it is horrible for people to act that way. I hope you still continue to make videos because I love them.

  • @fraser8402 Isn't she though? So pretty and so bright and smart. I think the untoward comments come from the green-eyed monster. The #1 wish in the world is for a happy and strong marriage and good family. Anyone can see that Noreen and Rick have that, with two great daughters to boot! It must be hell for the jealous people to have to see. They should concentrate on being more lovable themselves, and maybe they too would have a beautiful life. Thanks, fraser for supporting our girl.

  • @fraser8402 Now, why would I let some under intelligent life form effect my desire to share what I love doing most? The message I have received today alone, are reason enough for me to keep doing what I love to do, cooking, sharing, teaching and learning and making new friends. Thank you for support and your continued viewership. The community we have here is second to none. Noreen

  • ive been looking for a recipe for this! every 3 weekend i have to work and we all bring a dish, like a potluck buffet. we dont like the cafeteria food. ive served your chicken divan recipe many times with raves, this one is next. ill have to post my tex mex dip for you to try sometime. oh by the way, if anyone doesnt like your channel or appearance they are always free to switch channels,eh?this is the cooking mom channel, not the supermodels in bikini channel!

  • Noreen, I think that its awesome that you make these videos showing a real family that eats real home cooking. You Rock :)

This looks really yummy, I think I might try this in the crockpot. I'll do the first few steps, throw everything in the crockpot to cook all day and then just stir in the sour cream/flour when I get home and simmer it while I make the pasta.

  • Noreen, I have become a big fan. I love all of your videos and have learned so much. I will be honest, I look on youtube everyday to see if you have posted another video. Not only are you showing us another recipe but you always have little hints and tricks on how things could be done that makes it easier. You should consider putting all you recipes together in a book. I would be first in line to by it. I hope you keep doing videos.

  • Nasty comments, who so I can go kick them in their fartbox! Noreen you are a smart sweet lady and an amazing cook.

  • @udder777 I'm with you udder I'll hold them down while you kick em LOL. I love your videos Noreen.

  • Noreen ~ you are a beautiful person and a fabulous cook! God Bless you & dont pay any attention to those trolls! Im looking forward to your next cooking video!

  • This looks amazing, I'm gonna make it next weekend... YUM!

  • very cool recipe....but about the fat thing? im cajun, and make gumbo quite a bit, and there is that layer of fat that comes to the top...my grandmother taught me to lay a papertowel flat on top...soaks up the fat like magic. i just use tongs to take out the fat filled ppr towel and throw away.....it works for me...just sharing :)

  • @TXnineandout Holding an ice cube with tongs and running it around will do the same thing.

  • I have made this a few times before..... but i made mashed potatoes, never thought of pasta....I am gonna try it with pasta next time..... It really is good. Noreen, please remember when people are negative like that, it is because they are unhappy with there lives and want to make themselves feel better by makeing others feel like crap. Good girl for just waving them away. it would be good to say a little prayer there way too. By they way, there is not a thing wrong with your looks.

  • This looks wonderful!!! I will have to try it soon!!! Thank you so much for sharing your kitchen with us!! =)

I hate hearing you are having troll problems, pay them no never mind....they'll eventually eek off back under that bridge they came out from under! I know a lot of people are having problems with them lately. Keep on what you are doing, you are a sweet and wonderful lady with a beautiful family! God Bless!

  • reminds me of my grandmas house when i was a little kid

  • You re a beautiful woman in appearance and soul who has a wonderful husband and a great family, your sincerity and just the way you are with all of your viewers is so admirable, and half the reason I watch your videos is to see you smile and say you'll fix me a plate and you know I'm hungry, you're always right! you re so good at what you do, and you make delicious food, I watch you because you're the meaning of 'mom' and mom's food, you remind me of my mum, and I hope to be like you someday :)

  • This looks so yummy..Hey Noreen do you have a great recipe for cabbage rolls. My Uncle longs to have some great cabbage rolls like my Aunt used to make but unfortunately I don't have any idea what recipe you used. When I tried making them, they turned out kind of mushy. Oh and what is the name of that Hungarian cookbook? I love looking for old books online. :o)

    Lisa

  • @Ladylasil Ha! LOL Does she have a recipe for cabbage rolls!!! She's the cabbage roll queen.

  • My grandmother used to make this for me all the time. Thank you sooooo much for this!

  • Looks delish, Noreen..I dont know what makes people say unkind things on these programs..esp personal ones..I think most are smart aleck kids or teens but whoever they are they are not worth your time. I think your cooking is wonderful and so are you. Ty for all the nice recipes...Angie in AR

  • Norene~ Some people have such miserable lives they have to be nasty to everyone else! Pay no attention to these comments! If they are bothered so badly They DO NOT HAVE TO WATCH!!! We NORMAL people with NORMAL lives and appetites LOVE your videos and appreciate you taking the time out of your busy schedule to teach and share these wonderful dishes and recipes!! And Rick too for his video skills! : ) Please keep em comin Dear!!

    Hugs from KY~

    Robyn

  • I've only recently known of your channel but I'm thoroughly enjoying your videos and recipes and I'm so sorry that some people are so immature that they are leaving you negative comments. You're a lovely person inside and out and I thank you for sharing pieces of your life and family with us. Hugs!

  • i dont have a quedtion about food, but a question about your job. i am in college right now and thinking about changing my major to something to do with law. what is yourjob title and how long did you go to college. please if you could tell me a little about it. i would really appreciate it!!!!!

  • Dont listen to those ppl - they have nothing better to do with themselves... your a wonderful family and you make wonderful home cooked meals. Some of us didn't have parents to teach us these things- so thank you! <3

  • Can you tell me what the difference in paprika is - does it involve a different VARIETY of pepper to make sweet vs. regular vs. Hungarian? Is Hungarian ALWAYS sweet? I have seen that can at Walmart before but didn't know what to do with it before I saw your new upload. Thanks, sister - AWESOME as always! Glad you back -

  • That looks very good I'll have to try it, I love your videos. Thanks for making them
