You are right that some want it to collapse and at the same time not. We only have to look at Argentina & Zimbabwe to know that it would be horrible. A collapse in the US would bring about such a lifestyle change that many Americans couldn't even begin to cope with. No I don't want a collapse. I see your rationale, but at the same time, if the people can pull off a second American revolution, rather than a ill-fated French or Russian style revolution, then the opportunity for real change and advancement could be great. Absolutely. Minimum wage is a form of price control and thus is inflationary by nature. It means less jobs for everyone and an ever increase in prices. The minimum wage could be $50 an hour, it really wouldn't matter because the inflation would kill it's purchasing power because the system is flawed by it's very nature.
It changes people; on a grand enough scale, I wouldn't be surprised if the collapse lead to the rebuilding of this country. Of all systems, in light of the chaos; all done with a brand new mindset. People don't believe in government without corruption, because we're human. But it takes a certain type of society, a certain type of thinkers, that can make a corruption free society work. And in my opinion, that'll only come to pass when people realize the true value of things.

I had to get some white aluminium trim nails today. In the "show zone" of my local lumber store here in a little town in central ky they were priced at (no typo) $192 a pound! Add a 6% sales tax and they were over $200 a pound. I talked to management . Was told many people don't notice when they buy 1 ounce of nails for $12. Before World War II 1941, here in the USA. There was not a middle class at all, there was only two classes only. Rich and Poor. From 1776 all the way up to the 1920's american was a third world country. After USA won world war II, that is when the middle class started. I lived in Mexico for a year and a half, and what I saw is that since there wasn't always work to be had people would be off for weeks at a time and would work when they could. I do believe it needs to collapse. And, not to punish the rich but for people to get involved, actively in finding a new way. This economic world we live in, does not work. Capitalism, does not work.

I had to get some white aluminium trim nails today. In the "show zone" of my local lumber store here in a little town in central ky they were priced at (no typo) $192 a pound! Add a 6% sales tax and they were over $200 a pound. I talked to management . Was told many people don't notice when they buy 1 ounce of nails for $12. I'm thinking that TPTB are gettig us conditioned for hyperinflation . Oh, and yeah there were a broad assortment of 1 ounce packages of nails, all super exspensive!

I would really love to know how you trade. I find it utterly impossible right now....what makes it worse is knowing that Goldman has hijacked the markets with their program trading and stealing money from the markets (us) as they please. Anyone else notice that they made an absolute grundle of money this last quarter??? It ain't no coincedence - they control the markets.

Very often, the Havenots feel that they would be better off if the system would collapse. Yet, the reality is that most rich people became rich because of their smarts and wise choices.
Bottom line, what do you do when you have nothing ? Become someone's serf ? How would that be better ? Grow your own food, think of the hard work involved.
Always remember, Knowledge is power. Hard work and wisedom will prevail.
In the future, no one will be able to live off the government.

If it is prudent to trade in Gold & Silver versus actually having a personal supply, I wish you would do a video making such a case. So far, I've not heard and have not been able to envision a likely scenario in which that actually makes sense. Hopefully you'll provide some insight in this area.

We would eventually be the worst effected, no matter how much we actually prepare, so I'm not looking for a Mad Max scenario, but I do think a collapse of the Dollar is inevitable. I think that preparation is simply a way of mitigating the immediate impacts and giving you additional time in which to adapt to the new circumstances that won't be available to everyone else. Regardless of whether you trade Gold & Silver, I'd still be building a personal supply of both. Not doing so is not prudent

No, I don't think we can truly comprehend exactly what it will look like if the dollar collapses. However, I can firmly say that I'm not in the campe that wants the dollar to collapse. I don't want it to collapse, as I think that will bring about other terrible events that I'm not looking forward to (i..e one world currency & government). I still think that the financial system collapse in America is basically unavoidable. But no, I don't want it to collapse fast. I'd rather it be slow.

Before World War II 1941, here in the USA. There was not a middle class at all, there was only two classes only. Rich and Poor. From 1776 all the way up to the 1920's american was a third world country. After USA won world war II, that is when the middle class started. The middle class has only been in the USA for only 65 years, after the brentenwoods agreement. All of us have to start learning how to garden our own food. Like how our Great Granparents did during the Depression of the 1930's.

people waiting for a sudden dollar "crash" are going to be disappointed. The dollar will be leveraged out of over many years. Marc Faber stated it wold be at least 5-10 years before major inflation becomes a problem. So, NO....we will not have a massive sudden world collapse, it will be controlled, manipulated and drawn-out...over many years. Don't look for a return of "prosperity" we'll be hobbling along for a decade or two, high unemployment, high crime, social unrest...

growby10... you are wrong about one thing: Third world countries actually end up having more leisure time. I lived in Mexico for a year and a half, and what I saw is that since there wasn't always work to be had people would be off for weeks at a time and would work when they could. They survived by small scale farming for their families and sharing resources within the family. I personally worked there when my money ran out, and thought poor I was more relaxed.

does it matter at this point what we want? we have never had a real say in how the economy is structured and operated. people have been disillusioned by politics! made to think their vote actually matters..laughable..how many of you got to vote for Ben Bernankie? how about Greenspan? This is why I laugh at fools who go around knocking on doors during elections, advocating for their candidate. If someone wishes for a crash then they must be a fool, because so many will suffer everywhere. But I think it is unavoidable. So a wise person will prepare as much as he can. My husband does not agree with buying silver/gold so I can only buy a little. For the most part I agree with him but a little silver or gold for the thing that you didn't expect seems wise.

You are right on the money. Most us the middle and lower middle and lower class who live from paycheck to paycheck have barry enough to make the ends meet. We don't have money to buy gold and silver. Those trades only for either the rich people who want to protect their wealth or the greedy speculators who want to grape as much as they can in the panic chaotic situation. Some people can't wait for the whole system crushing down so they can benefit from it the most.

am no whiz kid, but two years ago i asked my lady friend each time you shop buy one xtra hide it. she failed to follow my advice. i spent a grand on canned goods,3 on gold 2 on silver ,enlarging garden and preparing for those who didnt. not fearful, never been survivalist. What i see is mass ignorance, and a denial that its happening. to those yet unaffected american idol reigns supreme.

I think your warning is sound..and needed. The dreamers looking for "the Bright new dawn" after the minor inconvenience of the economic crash, hurting only the richest..are kidding themselves. We can still hope it doesn't happen..but not making some preparations, or at least gateriong some learning and knowledge, is foolish.
