  • John Martyn must simply be one the most underrated musicians of all time. His song writing has the perfect combination of 'simple melody' and yet carries a subtle complexity that only an attempted understanding of the man can lead you to appreciate. Despite his rough exterior, his music reveals a delicate song writer that generations will enjoy.RIP John Martyn. Your music will serve as the most perfect epitaph.

  • John martyn has probably written the most inspiring and beautiful piece of music I've ever heard but, I've been told of someone who has read his auto-biography that he was suppose to be a bit of a tit, which amazes me when you listen to his music.

  • @Scoob505

Hi I'm not being condescending (I hope) but may I suggest thinking about forgiveness for people's weaknesses and enjoy what he was fantastic at?

I think he was incredible at expressing emotions through music, and I'm sure if he met enough good Irish people, he'd like them.

Some are awful people, some are beautiful - like all of us.

Even if he hated every Irish person on the planet, it doesn't make his music less enjoyable for you.

    Kind wishes.

    Craig
