Excellent show, especially given some of the innovative (for mecha anime) tactics. Still, I do like plenty of modern anime, it's not impossible to like both "new" and "old" school if you try.
In terms of strategic and tactical minds, yes there a some cool guys in Geass. However this guy Mellowlink and his Votoms piloting predecessor Cirico Cuvie would do a number on all of them with the right equipment and terrain. Suzaku might be caught mid air like that bastard in 1:53 trying to do that spinzaku kick.
