This has nothing to do with winning. This is all about our tribe and many others coming together to celebrate our heritage. This dancing comes from the heart.
I can understand "dancer's ego"--it makes competitions a lot more fun, but all the hate in the comments is unwarranted.Why is it that so many think that ALL NAI dancers have to look alike, make ALL the same moves, etc?There are diff. dances, moves, regalia from ALL Nations--we are NOT all the same(geesh & ppl scream 'bout assimilation? seems to me that some here want it more than the govt. does!)
That was an embaressment to all us grass dancers. No They wern't In full rigalia. No roach and what The hell Is up with The Guy in The purple. a holloween costume what was he doing portraying a mop. I hate hobbiest Pow wows.

That dude in the blue and black and this powwow in Jersey got all mad at us for laughing at his Turkey foot stick and talking while the flag song was happening he all came up and put that stick in our faces man i almost died laughing
shit i got scared when i seen the facial paint, shit. Dam we dont even put regilia paint on when we dance. We should tho, this is the eastern tribe i think right>>?
these grass dancers aren't even following the rule of what you do on the right, you do on the left. They are off beat and why is that grass dancer with facepaint?
What is your problem? This is a very small eastern tribe. These were local dancers. They were having a pow-wow and enjoying the day dancing. Sorry that you "big tribes" don't like us small easterns dances. And the comment about the white man ... these fellows were all Virginia tribal dancers. Some of these guys even got to go to England and dance for the Jamestown celebrations. If you can dance better that is fine. They were just honoring their traditions!
