Great pattern, thanks for posting. I am going out west to fish Wyoming, Yellowstone and Montana at the end of September. Will this pattern work there?
any idea if you can get foam like this at a hardware store like home depot or lowe's? because i live in maine and get all my fly tying stuff at l.l. bean and some of the stuff can get a little pricey
WalMart, Hobby Lobby, Michaels, etc. will have sheets of 2 or 3mm foam (about 10 x 20") for less than a dollar. Just about any color you can think of.

nice fly, im looking into the dyna-king junior trekker,(i know thats a cuda) but do you have any idea what size hooks the trekker standard jaws hold good?
that's bigger than i use and smaller than i use so it looks like im gonna get a trekker, srry but last question lol, how easy is it to tighten the cam all the way?

thanks for this very good tying! I'm gone try to do the same(as good as i can)
do you think it works well on French river in this size?
pat34ful 1 year ago
@pat34ful Yes, if there are grasshoppers around the river, this will work very well. Even without hoppers, it's a great attractor pattern...

Nice video and quickie take on Bill's hopper. Also nice you give him credit. Good camera work.

I'm pretty sure they're close to what the cuda would handle -- which is to say, I've tied from sizes #30 up to 1/0.

The cam tightening mechanism is right at the head on a collar so it's right at your fingertips. No problemo!
