  • This is one of my favorite videos on all of youtube. You are a true master!

  • dang nice

  • but your not unique nor are you original!!!!!!!!and wheres the groove?????give a fuck less about your drumming you sound like a buddy rich on crack :D

  • Excellent job! Enjoyed listening to you.

  • Very nice!

  • Real nice solo. I really liked it. Associated closely with it because we have similar styles and i would disagree, I think you do pick up on Joe Morello, Buddy and Jojo. Some of my inspirational dudes too. Well done.

  • Real nice solo. Ignore the weird negative comments. Keep up the good work.

  • Great technique! Clean and tight. I think even Buddy would count this solo acceptable... =)

  • Now that I think about it, some parts actually remind me of Mr. Bellson.

  • This is simply amazing. You're so musical and I can just sense your feel. This is what I aspire to be as a drummer. Great work man!

  • You certainly do have chops! How long have you been playing?

  • LOVE the sound of the old club date kits. Not bad, kid, not bad at all.I took lessons with Jim Chapin,Ed Shaughnessy, and Joe Morello----Not bad at all.

  • LOVE the sound of the old club date kits.

  • it's good to see some one holding the sticks in the tradional jazz way, like myself,

it always sounds better that way. Great Job

  • The drum set is a refined instrument with integrity and a glorious musical history.

What we have here is another YouTube Dufus with a pair of sticks, some free time and an abundance of no-talent.

    Enough!!

  • @Easleytee Why would you say that? This guy is very good.

  • 1:51 That's def some Steve Gadd, right out of Aja!

  • Great playing . Keep on keeping on .....

  • Excellent stuff!!!

  • Wow!! I think that was very Buddy rich like in terms of how he played.

  • Real good! Thanks for posting

  • VERY GOOD!!!!

what size is the floor tom?

why you don't have bordona in the snare?

  • absolutely great drum solo. I can tell that a LOT of hard work and dedication was put into that left hand, which is something people always seem to neglect. This is iconic for other drummers; this is a DRUM SOLO, not a set of grooves with some licks thrown in.

  • The people that vote "dislike" are either jealous or have no arms.

  • 19 people are jealous ain't -never -gonna-be's! This was a very tasty solo - love those one handed rolls! I keep trying to do them - maybe one day! You have real talent for drums - keep it up and you have a chance to be a very well known and respected drummer/musician! Now, for me, off to practice! Thanks for the inspiration!

  • good!

  • One of the most subtle and enjoyable solo's i've seen here.

  • very nice

  • How long did you study with Joe Morello?

  • I did see some of Buddy here. Excellent solo and technique!

  • Yo kid your really cooking good luck you have great technique I've watched 2 of your vids just great stuff, thanks for sharing!!

  • Excellent stuff!

  • I see some jack dejohnette and elvin jones

  • Veeery nice skills. Perfect kit.

  • I have seen many young drummers, but none of them with the technique and excellent control you have. I really admire your technique and most of all your explanation of doubles with the left hand.

Continue with this path and eventually you will be name among the best in the world.

Do not be discouraged for negative comments made for people who cannot appreciate good qualities in a drummer. You are an excellent drummer

    Carlos Diaz

  • You've got that left handed Moeller down, man. Very nice job on the solo.

  • Beautiful solo; What cymbals are you using?

  • super

  • great playing....love the kit

  • fuck sake guys this drummer is easily to a pro standard that was awesome,....just soooo needs a more bonham set up :(

  • Fantastic ...congratulations

  • !!! great!

  • Excellent drumming! you do Jim Chapin prowd!

  • nice club date!

  • Diggin those Dave Weckl sticks bro.

  • great technic

  • great tecnic

  • NASTY!

  • What are those sextuplets at 1:57?

  • @Isntthisalreadytaken I think it's a paradiddle diddle (RLRRLL) first right on floor tom

  • Absolutely superb drumming. Especially the hand/finger stick work!

  • Great job! Nice feel!

  • Like the kit, love the playing, you do the greats justice, I see more Morello than anyone here though ;)

  • I'd like to see you w/ a Big Band! I'll bet there are lots of brass players who would love to have you lead them.

  • Very Nice!

  • Exceptional playing sir. I really dig your technique. Keep it up!

  • On point, my drumming friend. Don't pay attention to these others who have problems with your kit. Very traditional and very well performed. Keep on drummin'.

  • The reason his snare sounds like that is because the snares are turned off. Dumb people...

  • @ajorioles1 yepp these people r dumb lol

  • @ajorioles1 it is just the way the snare was set.

  • youre a bully and a drummer!! more of a bully !!!! good drumms stop working on your technique and start working your maners!!

  • Dude this is an awesome solo. Screw what those other ppl think i appreciate the kinda sound comin from ur drums....Thumbs up man!

  • That was great! Did you have your snares on though?

  • I thought this was a wonderful solo. That Moeller technique is something I wish I had worked on more thoroughly. You obviously have taken it to the next level.

Are you playing with anybody? I'd love to see your playing with a jazz group. Great work!

  • nice one ... i love what you did.

  • ..........impresionante, vaya técnica, cogratulations

  • Man, I am shocked by the sheer number of negative comments....

  • That was crazy good, man. I learnt a lot from your video tutorials but never saw you playing an actual kit. Now i know i just received lessons from a truly great drummer. Keep it up!

  • very very clean. I enjoyed it.

  • This didn't really make me think of Buddy or Joe Morello, but still very good.

  • @darthjoey13 at least the left hand technique of buddy is there and very loud rolls seem very buddy and the phrasing is very musical like morello was especially the second half of the solo.

  • Your on fire brother........Rock on!

  • Hey dude im from the uk , been tryin to get my one handed roll down , and you have been awesome and informative , say FUCK YOU to the conservatory crew ,(i wonder what his cops are like !! keep up the good work dude , gibbo ;)

  • not bad

  • WOW! I love it from 0:54-1:00 great drumming. wish I could play like that!

  • great stuff man. i can tell you've put hrs and thousands of hours into your technique, and i commend your hard work.

  • what can i say, travis barker could use a few lessons from you.

  • Great job. Don't listen to the idiots who can't even play.

  • your lefthand is insane keep up the good work

  • very nice solo, i realy liked it...congratulations

  • hey man that was a really good solo it is what it says it is, i could hear the influence clearly , that's a really nice set you got there too, and you can really work the moeller the rudiments combos were nasty too , dont mind all the haters out there, u are doing great man.

  • great playing man

    nice fyberskyn tone

  • wow whats with all the hate bein thrown around! As a music appreciator I find masterofmoeller's work entertaining and skillful! I mean mastering the techniques displayed would have taken YEARS to get down. There is nothing wrong with a dude showcasing his abilities and if people have a problem with it then why are they watching? Why don't they ever back there talk with videos of their own? Oh because its easier to criticize and act tough than to actually walk the talk. People can be such morons

  • nice sounding kit!- I like the "vintage" sound!

  • I would have liked to hear the snare with the snares engaged, your user name will rub people the wrong way,, having said that and read the negative comments, your left hand technique is really good,,

  • Don't listen to the haters. You earned the name. The kit sounds good too. I like old kits from the 60s and 70s. I have 1965 and 1970 Slingerland kits but you have the right heads on yours. Nice vid.

  • i think that calling yourself masterofmoeller is kinda strange but at least you dont just say those things ...you are actually really good

  • O K - already - enough with the heavy words ! First off there are TONS of others on the net using "grandios" names and having NO chops at all !!! - The guy likes the moeller technique and is obviously proud of his achievements with it ( more than alot of guys can say) He says his solo is "inspired", so what did YOU expect, their solos rather than his own. The drums don't sound like cardboard boxes to me - - good tone - - a matter of taste, don't you think?..ALL in ALL , Very entertaining

  • Very tight playing. But it only started to really groove around 1:36.

  • I used this video to help me construct a solo for the Iowa Allstate Jazz Band. And i made it! thanks for the inspiration.

  • don't really care about your name or your kit, all that matters is that this was an awesome few minutes of drumming, i really enjoyed watching it, you really grasped the technique dude

  • Good Job!!

  • I see many people criticizing you for your account name and expensive kit as some rich kid out for attention. I say to you now, sir, you are an exemplary drummer who has the ability to make something of himself. Do not let money, fame, skill or anything else%Proxy-Connection: keep-alive

    Cache-Control: max-age=0

get to your head because you are who you choose to be. If your personality is as developed as your technique, then you can rise to extreme heights; as long as

  • idk why theyre hating. i think this is sick.

  • dude i closed my eyes and thought i was listening to Joe Morello

that was fantastic! keep it up

  • Maybe change your name, but you have great chops

  • with a name like master of moeller and a video title like this video has i must say i am very disappointed with what i saw. youre decent. youre drums do sound good though dont listen to the fucks who say otherwise but seriously, you are clearly very arrogant with your name and such and there wasnt really and display of rich, morello, or mayer.

  • That sounds amazing man, your technique is silly amounts of good.

And I love you kit, it's got that beautiful natural sound.

    xx Li

  • Come on give this guy a break! If the intention is to play a solo inspired by the three guys in the title (and it is!), then I say he has succeeded. Very good technique, lots of rudiments, very clean and precise rendition. You sir, are very good.

All the people snobbing this guy need to GET A FUCKING LIFE ASAP!

  • What else do rich kids do? expensive drums, expensive mic,s, 3 cameras. Look at me! Look at me!

  • CHANGE THAT TITLE ,, ASSHOLE

  • post new vids :)

  • do you work for Memphis drum shop? because i saw the Memphis drum shop logo on your drumheads

  • just great

  • your kit looks nice man, cool solo too

  • Comment removed

  • This is probably the best home video drum solo I've seen on youtube!

  • This guy has some wicked chops.... but hes definatley cocky.

  • Hey Man I thought you sounded great! Everyone is a such a fucking critic! Ignore the bullshit, stay confident and keep doing what you do!

  • you are the second buddy rich!

  • Nice. Fluid and relaxed playing.

  • you like santana ? sounds like mike shrieve

  • i love your crossovers at 2:02-2:09.Gonna copy them if u dont mind ;)

  • hey awesome drumming and awesome drumset ^^ Bless you keep it going !

  • Your solos would be alot more interesting to watch if you'd turn on your snares.

  • I disagree.... I've always loved the sound of a snare drum with the snare off.

  • The snare adds more character and and makes for a more interesting sound combined with the toms. Not that it doesn't sound good without them, but when every video has them it gets boring. My guess he doesn't turn it on is to sound "cleaner" with his technique.

  • That is true.... you get more ring with the snare off and it tends to hide flaws. A tight snare will definately show minor weakness and mistake more so.

  • @DanLetts97 a good thing - it'll tell you if you're shite or not! :L

  • this is really nice playing.

  • Great stuff-this is the very first time I've seen the Moeller technique used in a "musical" way around the kit! The posibilities are endless it seems! You've inspired me to practice more!!

  • rad video man i wish i had your chops...but it was all tech and no heart not that thats a bad thing jus saying

  • you are a drum god...

  • rad tribute, nice style match. drums are tuned for the tribute. others are dumb. nice.

  • I think your playing is jaw dropping. You have a Don Lamond style that is great for big band drumming and your power is impressive. I think these guys are a little green with envy. Thanks for keeping the 4-piece alive.

  • ur def not the master of moller

  • Looks like an old Club Date set from the 60's. Good job!

  • Awesome...

  • amazing technique

  • cul

  • Oh wow good one, moron

  • @masterofmoeller these people are fucking jealous and cleary know fuck all about drums. even if u got a big ego and like to show off, mate u got the skills to do so, not like any of this suckers who probably cant even get a double stroke roll going. hate stupid people!!

  • @masterofmoeller I would really, really like to know why u think this guy is a moron, he is exceptionally good at what he does. U better have a good fucking reason

  • FANTASTIC

  • @CCConservatory get out of youtube ..guys got skills

were the fuck are your skills ...or even a video of you tempting something worthwhile? no ...

  • @CCConservatory lets see your skill before you start talking to shit to those with skill.

  • @CCConservatory at least he can play the drums!!!

  • @CCConservatory Where did that come from? Wow.. lighten up a bit old boy..Eh?just keep practising, you might get there..hehe..

  • Comment removed

  • you're an idiot

  • what about snare...... and CCConservatory have reason. This drummer it's just one more. Nothing new...

  • @CCConservatory wat?

    sounds good to me.

do you want it to be tuned w/ lots of attacks including triggers or wat?

  • @CCConservatory

    His drums sound fine.

  • @CCConservatory yeah you are an idiot

  • @CCConservatory those drums are supposed to sound like that dick head. just coz this guys not stuck in the immiture world of everydrum has to sound like a big rock and roll drum kit with massive booming toms, it doesnt mean the drums sound shit..they are original early time jazz kits with a unique sound u could never ever hear.try getting it right first.

  • digging your skilz and kit. killer, man

  • um were was the jojo mayer?

  • Good job guy

  • Great job!...I don't know what else to say other than flawlessly executed!

  • Great solo man. One handed roll is tight...

  • That is a Ludwig Club Date drum set. I have one too. It's vintage 1968.

  • Haha! i love this dudes face at the end. It's just like, "Yea...? I'm good, I know...?" Haha amazing man, sounded great.

  • good! the triplets with your left hand are amazing!

  • fuck u made this solo one of my favourites.great job mate!!!!

  • Nice Solo

  • Dude, if your time playing is up to scratch with your soloing, we should be seeing you with Joey DeFranceso or Diana Krall or Wynton Marsalis anytime.

Put out some more vids man!

  • great drumming! keep it up!

  • Can you do that thing Buddy did when he would be playing a fast single roll on the snare, then hits the tom and then the bass drum right exactly after the tom? It sounded like BAump.

  • Why is your snare off?

  • Thats a nice solo but your name is a little bit too pretentious to me.

  • @ThemJazzyBeats

It's not pretentious if he has mastered it, which he clearly has.

  • Excellent!! Love the crossovers!

  • how old is that kit??

  • THAT WAS INSANE! I've been playing drums for 8 years and still think that was one of the best solos I've ever seen.

  • Love the moeller groove/part at 0:30 :D

    Great job!

  • very good , on that vintage Ludwig set

  • I'm a 63-year-old guy. A rock and roll drummer when I was a kid, but a Buddy Rich fan all my life. He was the best. You do a GREAT job with the Buddy licks. I love your Moeller technique. I never even knew there was such a thing back when I was playing regularly. You've got a great mix of solid rudiments and you SWING, like Buddy!

  • one of the best drum solos of all time.

  • hahahahahaaaa THAT WAS AWSOME!!!!!!!!

  • Hey dude! You have some freakin amazing, I mean AMAZING technique. If I could just make some constructive criticism (not that I'm better, I wish I could play like you) - try to think less of rudiments and techniques you're using and think more of music you're making. When you listen to Mayer or Morello or anybody else try to imitate more their style, phrasing and expression than just techniques they use.

But again this shit is REALLY COOL. Keep drumming :)
