@guineapiggyman You will probably be surprised to hear that I am aware of the fact that they have been caught, I have caught several of them myself. Problem so far has been that when I look into the net, the "rod" always changes into a moth or some other small object. We can catch them, but they always, so far, turn out to be common objects that were traveling by at speed and seemed to be rods, but they turn out to be known objects. Keep trying though, maybe you'll catch one.

The rods in space look like you would expect debris to look like, the insect and bird rods have distinctive features caused by the wings, space debris that are rotating can have a pattern caused the rotation, same as insects. In short anything moving closely in front of the lens like ocean spray,dust, seeds or other debris will look like a rod. Frozen water or other unknown space debris crosses a video cameras field of view and "rod" effects occur.

Whether or not rods are a part of this is debatable, but there are limits to the frequency range that humans can see and other things may exist that cannot be seen within our range. Have you ever seen an animal - dog or cat, maybe - who is apparently seeing or reacting to something that you cannot see? I have seen this dozens of times and I think it is due to the animal being capable of seeing beyond that frequency range within which we can see, on either side of our light spectrum.

This video is misleading shot at very slow shutter speed, probly 1/30s. If u r tying to film rods on purpose ud use a very fast shutter speed 2 freeze them. I use 1/2000s & higher. Notice objects in this video r very blurred and disconnected. I've filmed rods that are not blurred at all and have sharp details see (Roswell Rods, Photos, string1248) also filmed insects flapping their wings along with the rods.

They do "appear" to pass through, but such thing is impossible, and we now know that the "rod" phenomenon is caused by video artifacts.
I actually believe that rods may be real, because two years ago while I was playing baseball, I saw a rod dart right past me. It looked like a long dragon fly with two sets of wings. I've seen these creatures or whatever they are only about two times. I saw this with my eyes, no camera required.

Try setting up a low shutter and high shutter cam side by side near some bushes and then shake the bushes. when you have a high speed camera vs a normal speed camera it may appear as rods. you can do this at home and test it. the normal speed camera makes it believe its a rod but when you look at the high speed camera it actually captures moths or birds goin in the same direction shown on the normal speed camera. but i like that we can keep this a mystery forever! lol
maybe because camera lenses are far more slower in captioning than the human eye, so that those rods have tails or whatever, maybe a rare kind of insect.
@jakolishous; I have seen those videos, the same principle is involved, but instead of insect wings flapping to create the undulating pattern seen in rod pictures, the pattern is caused by the object rotating as it traverses the video field. As to what the objects are, there are many possibilities, such as ice or debris from the spacecraft itself. The objects are passing by close to the camera, this makes the objects seem to be larger than they actually are.

Get your video camera and shoot these for yourself. When you watch your own video you will see that these things move way too fast too be insects. Just because someone says these are bugs, doesn't make it a scientific explanation. Does it?
The illusion of a rod being very large and or fast moving is explained by the fly-by of a small object close to the lens. If we do not know the precise distance and speed of the objects in question, we cannot accurately assert the size or speed of the object. Most of them are gnat sized objects flying close to the camera, they seem to be far away and fast moving, but they are not.
I well know that most rod pictures are of insects, but some are just plain too big , one being spotted from the ground behind some clouds, and others are too fast.
where are the bodies? they can't live forever. they are supposedly found all over the world but not a single specimen, live or dead has even been claimed to be found. and this is the perfect explanation the is just an insect blurred over one exposure at a time.
Like I say, I'm fully aware that most rods are not real, but I think some are. A few reasons why there may be no bodies: Rods can supposedly fly in space and may go there to die; rods could be one of the many creatures that just doesn't die of old age; rods are speculated to be interdimensional beings, so they could go to a different reality when they die. I know all of these sound like long shots, but there are some pictures that the blurring theory cannot explain.

Whether or not rods are a part of this is debatable, but there are limits to the frequency range that humans can see and other things may exist that cannot be seen within our range. Have you ever seen an animal - dog or cat, maybe - who is apparently seeing or reacting to something that you cannot see? I have seen this dozens of times and I think it is due to the animal being capable of seeing beyond that frequency range within which we can see, on either side of our light spectrum.

Oh fyi they also have been seen in the deep oceans no insect has the mobility to swim that fast in the water.. so it possible it has a psysical form because it entered the water its a solid matter makes me believe its possible some super insect or possibly something that travels through dimentions at high velocity compared to the rods seen at caves there not the same

I like how people say there insects but clearly insects have a clear sense of danger for weather and these have been seen going and coming out of storms and hurricanes.. there's just no possible way this could be a insect that moves at that speed with the shape of its wings it should be more of a glider... but then what has anyone ever caught one...? until then I remain skeptic of it being anything but a normal insect.

i saw a documentary on history channel where the mistery was revealed. the rods are bugs, such as moths, but also debris or piece of somethings, for example carried by a strong wind. the mistery was caused by the cameras who made the videos, because them capture only few frames. in the documentary was made an experiment where were used 2 cameras, a normal camera and a high-speed cam and with the last one the mistery was revealed.

THESE ARE REAL! I saw them in Tennessee, in a little place called "Adams, Tennessee". It is the site of the Bell Witch. There is a little creek nearby, a spring I guess it's called maybe not big enough to be a creek, and a cave. We went and took pictures at the cave, and there are these rod-looking things in our developed photos! I have seen these things. THEY ARE REAL!!!!

This video is misleading shot at very slow shutter speed, probly 1/30s. If u r tying to film rods on purpose ud use a very fast shutter speed 2 freeze them. I use 1/2000s & higher. Notice objects in this video r very blurred and disconnected. I've filmed rods that are not blurred at all and have sharp details see (Roswell Rods, Photos, string1248) also filmed insects flapping their wings along with the rods.

I am a hunter, and put out trail cameras for viewing wildlife. I have video of hundreds of these so called rods, but these rods are not aliens. They are insects. Most of the rods I see are Praying Mantis.

@aechaech They never actually pass through anything solid, it is a video effect caused by the translucent nature of the insects moving too fast for the video sensor. They do "appear" to pass through, but such thing is impossible, and we now know that the "rod" phenomenon is caused by video artifacts.

I actually believe that rods may be real, because two years ago while I was playing baseball, I saw a rod dart right past me. It looked like a long dragon fly with two sets of wings. I've seen these creatures or whatever they are only about two times. I saw this with my eyes, no camera required.

No reliable witness has ever seen a rod with their eyes, that's because the rod phenomenon is caused by small objects moving too fast for the video camera to capture them.

Looked at me while it hovered, ( i saw these small hummingbird like wings,and big eyes unlike anything i every saw.) then took off at a faster then hummingbird pace. In NJ. This one might have been a rod too. They are almost transparent.

Try setting up a low shutter and high shutter cam side by side near some bushes and then shake the bushes. I bet the "rods" you see on the low shutter cam show, up as normal everyday bugs on the high shutter.

when you have a high speed camera vs a normal speed camera it may appear as rods. you can do this at home and test it. the normal speed camera makes it believe its a rod but when you look at the high speed camera it actually captures moths or birds goin in the same direction shown on the normal speed camera. but i like that we can keep this a mystery forever! lol

@jakolishous; I have seen those videos, the same principle is involved, but instead of insect wings flapping to create the undulating pattern seen in rod pictures, the pattern is caused by the object rotating as it traverses the video field. As to what the objects are, there are many possibilities, such as ice or debris from the spacecraft itself. The objects are passing by close to the camera, this makes the objects seem to be larger than they actually are.

It's not just birds or bugs that are rods, anything that moves faster than the shutter speed of camera will come out as a rod....and debris in a tornado will definitely qualify as 'moving faster than the camera shutter speed'.

when they are caught, they are nothing more than flies. They caught one on an ultra high speed camera and in normal speed it looked like a rod, but when lowed down, it was just a fast moth.

Get your video camera and shoot these for yourself. When you watch your own video you will see that these things move way too fast too be insects. Just because someone says these are bugs, doesn't make it a scientific explanation. Does it?

The illusion of a rod being very large and or fast moving is explained by the fly-by of a small object close to the lens. If we do not know the precise distance and speed of the objects in question, we cannot accurately assert the size or speed of the object. Most of them are gnat sized objects flying close to the camera, they seem to be far away and fast moving, but they are not.

Like I say, I'm fully aware that most rods are not real, but I think some are. A few reasons why there may be no bodies: Rods can supposedly fly in space and may go there to die; rods could be one of the many creatures that just doesn't die of old age; rods are speculated to be interdimensional beings, so they could go to a different reality when they die. I know all of these sound like long shots, but there are some pictures that the blurring theory cannot explain.
