its january 12th. i live in st,paul. what are the regs for this area? im new to the sturgeon thing and i dont exactly understand the "retention" thing.. thanks for your help!
Regulations are 42" to 60" downstream of about Willamette Falls, barb-less hooks. 38" to 60" upstream W/Barbed Hooks. All of the Columbia is 42", 60" Barb-less. Curious fish to clean, remove head, cut-off all "razors" fins, skin, cut around narrowest at tail, break tailbone & extract (pull) out spinal cord. If you don't pull the cord your "Steaks" you cut up will quiver weird-like for hours long after you get it home. The head will be gasping for water in the trashcan, four hours later. TRUE!
good job on the sturgeon! I use to live in Corvallis myself and a couple seasons ago I hooked into a huge sturgeon on the Long Tom just outside Corvallis after the big flood. I was fishing for catfish when it bite. I only had a 5foot trout rod with 6 pound test. Fought the fish for at least an hour before it broke off. No one believed me! Thanks for the video!
