  • Wow thats pretty awesome, makes me wanna make war upon our old enemies LOL jk

  • One of the songs is a pueblo song ....

  • people think we the navajo are not a warlike tribe but jut remember we pushed out the spainards and the apache from new mexico

  • Nice dance, W.T.F. is with all the haters comments. This is a Dine Dance. aswell as Mescalero. ive seen it, Heard of the elders speak of how the Southeastern Dine & Ndee use to dance these dances. Most of them lost the dances when both tribes went to the long walk. If you dont know the meaning of this dance, then move on. Your people or family were never taught these dances or never listened. All Navajo dances are public, you never c security fences @ yei ceremony's or sqaw dances. O.M.F.G.!

  • To the response below me. That's such a conservative thing to say. These people probably took the sacredness of the dance into consideration when they decided to display it publicly. Plus, WE as a Navajo need to understand that our culture is dwindling each generation so it is good that a video can be produced of it. So take your negativity elsewhere.

  • yea this is not suppose to be on here cuz its a sacred dance. We dont go showing off our dances for healing. Whoever did this should be ashamed.

  • thats a cool Navajo War Dance...keep it Dine' 4 life...

    Navajo Warriors.....D-I-N-E'

  • they sound have the tribal police tell the not to have camera around .. or is that all they want is money in there pocket hahaha that is what you call disrespect. if want answers ask the elders they will tell you the cermonie men

  • FULL NAVAJO RIGHT HERE

  • @Nikkafan YES........THIS IS AGAINST NAVAJO TRADITIONS,I GUESS THIS WAS,RECO... BY A HIDDEN CAM :(

  • They look soooo great, I love it!

  • i hope you keep and hold your history and never ever feel ashamed or feel at a loss your so lucky when the english came to ireland they destroyed our history language and culture and sent many away as slaves our history is gone and lost but your have yours and its beautiful and wonderful lovely video

  • most dances are suppose to b traditional most navajos have forgotton there ways and were not the only tribe that has forgotton. sum can not recall there own language. if ur talking bout stealing other tribes tradtions.. peyote is one that all the tribes call there own. but it really belongs to the north ndn tribes sioux. n another i cant recall. the only that is most sacred to the navajo and should not b posted is the yei bi cheii dance. that dance is a healing ceremony blessing dance.

  • they dont...and its 100 % fake....we call it "fake tourist indians"...as u know

  • Luvin' these NIZHONI Dineh Vibes,....Jari Naraski* from a purembe(sw mexico)to you all!

    *Greetings.

  • Wow nice dancing! and great entertainment! This dance is done in a way that is for entertainment purposes only...even though ppl say that its not suppose to be seen? i think its okay because they arent using the real songs and other relects that make it sacred...so this dance is strictly for entertainment LOL!

  • I find this really amazing i really want to learn more about the traditions, dances and so fourth

  • THIS IS SOOO NOT SUPPOSE TO BE SEEN BY OUTSIDERS my family would kill me if i danced for a crowd still its good to know youtube has great stuff like this

  • this is a navajo dance, done a little research asked a few medicine men and it is kind of obvious with the navajo scout hat

  • the director of this group once said to us "they are trying to be Pueblo" and we were like "ummm ok we dont use Pueblo Songs" was kewl tho, made me laugh.

  • HelloPeps. Will this is from a Navajo who finds this hilarious & lil hurtful. This dance not Navajo. Funny u Navajos don't know ur religion. It could be 4 others 4 show (Made up?/ Other Tribe?). Does have some Navajo private dances (like) but all mix up & not john. Must B done by a gay dude. No offence, but a touch up like that is feminine. Male Navajo dances r barbaric. Like I & others would say, just 4 show. However ndns should not brack there rules of culture and religion. Go learn ur culture

  • Come on people....ever hear of modern dance interpretation? We are capable of evolving. Give these young people credit for their own interpretation of what makes them proud to be Navajos.

  • Comment removed

  • nizhoni

  • I have never seen a Havasupai dance like this. This is Dine' (Navajo).

  • The Havasu ’Baaja (the-people-of-the-blue-green-waters), or more commonly the Havasupai, are a Native American tribe that has called the Grand Canyon its home for at least the past 800 years

  • I believe these are Havasupai Dancers

  • Not a Navajo dance. Must be some kind of Pueblo dance judging from their appearance and how the drummer sings in a pueble like tone. Anyway, it is a very interesting dance. I like it.

  • im full-blooded dine' and got two half sisters that are zuni. we go among them constantly, and i can speak their language, as well as my father, who taught me to speak zuni. i think both languages are beautiful, and we are invited to their religous ceremonies. it's great if all tribes can be peaceful, can continue to share our cultures amongst each other, and live together in harmony.

  • ummmm these are not NAVAJO people dancers whatver..these are some kind OF pueblo dancers(zuni looks like).the pueblo and navajos were (and are) enemies."navajo" is a zuni word that means " enemie."

emagdnim88..are you seriously brain dead stupid apaches dont likenavajo ..I mean DINE ,they were 1 people once upon a time. The dinesettled down and the apacheskept up thenomadi raiding lifestye.dine(navajo) are apache and vice versa. If you didnt know that YOU AIN'T NO SKIN.

  • I Dont think this is Zuni..because..the zunis dont sing or dance like that..and they dont use drums like dat..and im sure if the zunis wanted to dance away from there village to show other people..im SHur they would be dancing a ZUIN dance..yup..lol.

  • And i dint know that the navajos and Pueblo people wer still enemies..yea i knew back then that navajos and pueblos wer enemies..but i thought that was long gone..maybe sum navajos and sum pueblos people think that they are still enemies but i know sum dont..just like i always see lots of navajos at pueblo villages for dances..i dont think that shows enemies to each others..hmmm???...

  • @kewameh OH THEY know,EVEN IF you dont.

  • Bravo!!! ******

  • Good hopping dance, the colors are good, but don't know which tribe or dance this is, I think this is for everybody to see.

  • Ayoo nizhonigo da'olzhizh. Ahehee

  • Hi from Indiana... Some of the best dancing I've seen :) thank you

  • dude? that did answer my question? and why did you put that?

  • do chinese have churches????

  • Chinese? What does chinese have to do with the Navajo's?

Don't take it the wrong way, I'm just wondering...

  • um yeah they do look it up u really r a dork

  • izzz it?????? ohh my, do u go to church?

  • Beautiful Performance! May God and all the dieties bestow blessings upon your group for all you do in representing the Navajo culture and also the Native American culture as a whole.

  • You say you don't have a religion, Isn't "christianity" a religion? Besides the only reason why it probably didn't work for you is because you probably didn't have "FAITH", a major player in religion. Besides all the ceremonies we have are about balance within nature and thus in self. God is "nature" that in turn "nurtures" us to be better human beings.

  • utterly disrespectful. We live in a white mans world today, guess dissin our cultural dances and healing ways are just commondity now.

  • Awsome dance, I love the fact all Nations have different styles of dance...Thanks for sharing!

  • Sorry! trying very hard not to judge "exploitation", choose not to say anything else.

  • The Pollen Trail Dancers are very proud people. I would not judge anybody or any culture if you are not out there educating the public yourself!! We have enough Indians hating on Indians!! What is wrong with encouraging our youth to continue their traditions. Do not demoralize your own people. I am ashamed of you!

p.s. they dance to educate other and not to get paid. They dance to unite people and honor the elders. What are you doing?(Nikkafan and Humored0ne)

  • THOSE POOR GUYS! How embarrassing. You do know that they not only probably are NOT Navajo but they also get paid like $6/hr for this.. right? Plus he is singing the wrong words. *sigh* Nikkafan is right... this isn't a traditional dance. Plus, did you know navajo sell kachina dolls to piss apache off? We don't even believe in kachina :P bilagaana. Haha

  • lol Apaches dont even have kachina dolls dorks!! I wonder why Navajos dont like Apaches? cause we loooooooove them! hahahaha!

  • wow, this guy has an awesome voice!

  • I don't think so my grandfather use to say the same thing when he saw dances like these.

  • There seems to be many people posting video's

of dances & ceremonies that are questionable.

  • nice video i love it.

  • I watched a show on TV once, that dealt with the prejudicial views of Native America one could get by watching most Hollywood movies."By watching these movies, one could easily come away with the view that all Indians wore Comanche head-dress,lived in teepees, rode painted horses and lived in Monument Valley or the Alabama Hills near Death Valley."

  • And,I really don't think it helps that some say, that before the white man came,ALL Indians that lived in what we now call the American Southwest, were "Mexican Indians"...It is a politcal lie and mis-represents the fact that the American Southwest was peopled with Native Americans who were,yes,Uto-Aztecan Americans;but those of other types of NA,as well, who existed long before Mexico came into existence.

  • From the tip of Alaska and all the way down

to the tip of Argentina.Native Americans were

living here before any other colored people

were introduced to, or landed here. Can you

imagine your line, all the way back,100,000 of

years? The struggles that our great ancestors

dealt with? And we are here today because of

their will-power to survive! I am eternally

greatful to them!If it wasn't for them,I would

    not be here today!

  • WOW! Beautiful! In sync perfectly.

  • Fantastic!!

    Thanks

  • Well the performers say that these dances they perform is "influenced" by other tribes. Just like any other tribe, we acculturate certain aspects of ceremonies, dances, and songs from other nations into our own pantheon. More or less to bring "good" to the world or the patient. Also, they are social dances, meaning that the "religious" dances are reserved for a more PRIVATE sector.

  • This is not Dine But I tradition

  • I don't know what to say. I have been to many ceremonies, but have not seen anything like this dance. I see they are mixing and matching and adding their flare to it. But its all for entertainment.

  • This ain't anything close to being pueblo.. Anything for a buck(peyote meeting, herbal remedies, unknown kachina dolls, machine stamped nickle silver jewelry, etc) Just total disrespect for native culture..Yup he had to buy the Ed Lee Natay CD to get some songs.. We have navajo dances and don't dance in circles and Don't dance for money, We dance to better our lives and cure the people that are not feeling well from the songs.. No start, middle and end in the song just one verse..

  • yeah ,..uh agree wit nativekid89 west junction is for tourist,..pisses me off that natives have to do this for money,..this is only for entertainment though not traditional dance...navajo got some sick songs for healing ceromonies that no tourist knows though...some natives just do this shit man ,..kinda makes me feel shamed out..al least they are not dressing up like warriors and mock hunting and shit ...this is cool...make your money

  • This is a pueblo dance isnt it? The music and everything is not Navajo, though there are some Navajo influence. But it is still pretty amazingly interesting.

  • Wild West Junction is fake, thats not navajo dance man,

  • this is pretty cool im half navajo and i never learned about my navajo culture so im glad you shared this with youtubers

  • Is there anyone from the old chat room here?

  • good show..."I MEAN SHOW.."there is no dance lik tis n tha culture..

  • geez this a such a unique culture! very beautiful!!

  • They are copieng PUEBLO PEOPLE!

  • the dancing and garb is different. EVERYONE borrows from eachother. There are many aspects of "pueblo" dress that came from navajos also. We just do it better. At least we are not hopping in a little area while dancing with boring songs.......

  • i dont know about the video but you have no right to say that about pueblo people

  • Hey we are native and that we are all the same. What up hopigirl

  • im not putting down other tribes but this person is putting down pueblo people to me

  • well hell with that person and for me i like all tribes... this is a good dance that i saw

  • I didn't know williams had entertainment like this. nice video.

  • Its a social dance that ensures protection from enemies (long ago) and a successful hunt in the winter when food is scarce.

  • its the bow and arrow dance

  • it's pretty cool. but what dance is this?

  • What kind of dance is this.

  • Beautiful!

  • nizohniyee...very wonderful that youth are willing to participate in their dine culture...luv it

  • thank you i learning how to be a medicine man for the yei bi cheii

  • You are not supposed to announce or tell the general public about medicine. Your elders would not approve.

  • sorry ...... always respect the elders no matter what :) they are the boss of us

  • That was cool!!!
