  • excuse me but could you tell me if there is a certain tuning to get this classical music from or is it standard eadgbe?

  • Just about every one else's version of this on Youtube uses simplified chord patterns and ignores some key bass notes and results in weaker harmony. This is ridiculously brilliant

  • @Daniele if U want some hints on the fingerings you can contact me

  • Chevere! Aunque no mejor que Barrios!

  • this is so gay how could people listen to this its so boring and gay -___- lame

  • @BlindedinChains444

Your are so gay how could people be so idiots like this you are so boring and gay -___- lame

  • @BlindedinChains444 Go back to your Call of Dooty. See what I did there? Its not hard to be immature.

  • @thatguitarguy99 its funny cause its my lil bro that watches em

    this is shit anyways

  • @BlindedinChains444 What a joke you are. You obviously have no propensity to connect to the feeling that is behind this guitar playing. I sincerely hope you grow up one day - not everybody does.

  • @EverybodyScramble ahh im obiously kidding look at my recent likes on my channel :)

  • I'm a veteran blues and rock guitar player but i still say Segovia is the GREATEST and most INFLUENTIAL classical guitarist of all time.

  • @WhatWentWrong22441 You should have made classical bold too, haha

  • 240p. we meet again

  • Absolutely beautiful.

  • And can't believe he's related to me. :D

  • @drinkpepsi4rocks Really!??!

  • That nigah can shred!

  • @vulgarcowpower I concur good sir.

  • God, his sound is so rich

  • Prelude BMW 2002.. :) ..the kid can play...nice upload!

  • So I've got a line on the score. Lemme know!

  • Even adding chords and counterpoint bass notes along the way, to mock the critics, who ridiculed him early in his career. Those same critics laughed at Einstein?

    Bravo Maestro!!

  • I never knew that the KFC Colnol could play guitar.

  • @shizzynizzo hahahhaa you bastard, this isn't KFC's Colonel Sanders. I lol'd though.

  • @shizzynizzo

    Your ignorance is obscene!

  • His tone is great but I'm not sure I like the pauses he takes between some notes and phrases since to me it puts a hiccup in the rhythm and seems to lose momentum.

  • Good to see. Brings some hope to guitarists like myself who dont have long fingers. With flamenco players drama adds excitement however some classical guitarists make a real song and dance of it when they play which to me can be a distraction especially with slower pieces, not so Segovia, a lesson on being calm and in control of oneself. Composure.

  • klassssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss

  • Was the score ever found?

  • Sin duda un maestro!

Que viva la música clásico por siempre!

  • lol, why are the top comments all the cheesy ones?

  • look at his mighty 90 degree thumb...

  • Somebody go back in time and get the tabs please.

  • @milesgti You don't need to go back in time. There is a tab of this arrangement in the web.

But it's definitely the most difficult arrangement of this piece.

  • I know the tabs of this song From out Master Bach

  • @jeanpearejimenez Do you have a link?

  • @riethc for what sorry? ic ant find the comment

  • man i heard anders segovia was either gonna become a lawyer or a guitarist man i wonder how would of happen if he didnt choose music as his career

  • i think i found the tabs for this pm me for the link

  • @guitarfan1979 Can you send me a link to the tabs?

  • The master!!!

  • PERFECT!! =DDDDD

  • i like the kindly smile he often gives at the end. what a master!

  • You'll never find this transcription by Segovia. Because it's not a transcription, and it's not by Segovia. It's an arrangement by Ponce.

  • please someone could send me the original partiture, because I have passed all mi life looking for that and I can`t find it. thanks for your help.

  • Beautiful, amazing, it looks as though it was composed for guitar, and every note seems to come from Segovia´s soul, a great master

  • The Master. Played as if the song is inside him and the guitar is the way he gives it to the world.

  • Segovia plays beautifully, have a listen to- John Feeley - Cello suite no.1 in D by J.S. Bach.

  • Somebody should fix the sync betw sound and image... other Segovia tv videos also

  • Wow... My guitar instuctor told me to look this guy up. Now I see why. : )

  • @Daniele: I can teach you if you want. Duarte tablatures are much simplier. I learnt by ear from an another recording that is slightly different from this.

  • wow.... this is very different transcription compared with the one I'm practicing (Thorlakson), 'cause yeah... I'm not at this level yet... thanks a lot for sharing1!!

  • amazing, sounds just like it should - alive, interesting, vigorous

  • it sounds so think and layered and textured like a soft ton of bricks. when i play it sounds like tin cans :(

  • wow!! amazing piece!!

  • Listening to this piece at least 5 times a day, but its

    magic remains the same ...

    Thank you so much, Segovia

  • @TheLudoz90

Don't forget to thank the classical and romantic era

  • 7 dipshits

  • What a performance, really brilliant!!!!

  • segovia is the hendrix of classical guitar!

  • Great. Thank you. After hearing at Segovia' s performance I do believe Bach composed the prelude for the guitar. No cello is so beautiful.

  • Is he the greatest?

  • No sooner had the song started that I began to cry ...

  • if it wasn't for the crappy audio it would be PERFECT!!!

  • What a beautiful song!

  • que belleza!

  • he is alive,,live within each guitar player that revive the emotions of a wonderful guitar playing

  • God blessed us with Maestro Andres Segovia who touched us with his playing. Every piece of music he ever played was a work of genius. He is sadly missed but never forgotten.

  • God blessed us with Maestro Andres Segovia who touched us with his playing. Every piece of music he ever plaed was a work of genius. He is sadly missed but never forgotten.

  • fake

  • I got to see him a the Dorthy Chandler Pavilion in the 70's and was totaly amazed and so lucky to see him before he left us. He gave us the Classical guitar.

  • ohhh!! man!.

    beautiful piece!

    wish he wer alive

  • Amazing! Saw him at the Bklyn Academy of Music way back when. He was almost unbelievable. He was able to play so well with those stubby, fat fingers - almost a handicap! A great musician.

  • A true Master

  • this niggas beastin

  • look at the fuckin MASSIVE fingers on segovia

    BRILLIANT

  • what year was this?

  • You can find the score in a Roberto Fabbri's book but I don't remember the title of the book =)

  • he has that relaxed pocket to his playing that is the mark of a truly great guitar player. i hear the same song played by someone else and it is missing that elusive quality

  • 6 people have no musical taste...

  • Note the wonderful phrasing. It is almost like a chorus sprouted guitars from their necks and joined the old man. God bless him

  • Oh my God...

  • That smile after he ends.....

  • Hermosooo!!!!! interpretación inigualable ... Maestro Segovia

  • This is the best perfomance I have never seen before...SO BEAUTIFUL!!!

  • How he plays to my heart.

  • Truly one of the most moving performances ever!

  • i dunno if you found the score yet but the tab for it is on this website if anyone wants it. classtab dot org. and just search this song

  • Beautiful, thanks

  • I knew Segovia because my teacher had me study his exercises for the classical guitar. By god, I really got no idea how awesome he is... Thanks for uploading!

  • he's amazing =)

  • Bravo Bravisimo Maestro!

  • type in 'BWV 1007 Ponce' into Google and this version is available free on Scribd.

  • He sort of a GUITAR YODA. I like him!!

  • Yes this is the Manuel Ponce transcription of Bach's Prelude from the first cello suite. I think it is available from Guitar Solo (GSP) Publications in San Francisco.

  • @TimHGuitar THERE IS A GREAT EDITION FROM EDICIONES YOLOTL corazonotero at compuserve com FOR ONLY 6 DOLLARS, PLUS SHIPPING. REGARDS

  • The only problem I have with Segovia is that he got old and died. God rest his Soul...Bravo!

  • @Hypnus9 I have another problem - why the hell at age 90+ he played better than i will ever can?

  • @wojtekmetal Well, I believe I have an answer, and I hope not to humble you with it, but to inspire. For most of those 90+ years, he practiced every day (without fail) four times a day, and hour and a half at a time. He was so dedicated to the furthering of the guitar that it was his life.

  • @Hypnus9 Its only because God couldnt stand to have him on earth playing for all of us and not him directly ;)

  • @LifeisforGuitar Well said!

  • @Hypnus9 wait a minute, what if he is still alive? o_0

  • @Hypnus9 that's the same problem with bach

  • @Hypnus9 if you're lucky you'll have the same problem

  • Whoa. Best version I've seen of this on guitar.

  • @Wiegieboard well yea its segovia arguably the best guitarist ever

  • @Wiegieboard because its f-in segovia d-uh

  • Bach's works are awesome, truly amazing... but Segovia's transcriptions... damn...

  • Supremo!

  • That was beutiful. I almost cryed. Segovia undrstood the perpose of the guitar, and how to convay the emotion that each pice has.

  • @turnerand10 well said just not well spelled....LOL. no offense

  • @turnerand10 i'm sure he also appreciated good spelling

  • does anyone know where i can get the dots for this? i have found infinite tabs but i think for a piece like this i would really prefer notes.

  • The man was a genius.

  • segovias way is so hard.... i found how to play it just google andres segovia cello prelude tabs and its the second link

  • @Raptordaddy

Thanks, I've been looking for his tab for a long time. It is difficult. D:

  • many tried but no one can surpass the mastery and class of Segovia!

  • beautiful

  • T_T i want to play this arrangement badly someone help

  • maestro

  • He was and still is a guitar master...I can not imagine what it would be like to meet him and be able to be tought some of his masterful skills. No doubt my All time favorite guitarist. Also my Idol.

  • @marcMLC

practice practice practice and play with your heart! there is no such thing as 'special talent' or 'born with it' you try hard and long enough and you will be able to!

  • @jesselllll It's both.

  • muchas gracias para la musica Andres'

  • so much work

  • Segovia plays his own arrangement of Bach Prelude BWV 1007. In 1962, already after the apex of his career, 69, Segovia still had the chops to school an eager class of university masterclass students on how things were done in a different era.

  • i like segovia and no offense but he kinda looks like kfc guy

  • Segovia made the guitar into a classical instrument.

  • @slasha666 The guitar has always been a classical instrument

  • Very rich warm tone and fluid ...

At the beginning your aware Segovia loves this piece. Now I, Thanks Andres.

The treatment is so balanced. Bach is Grand... and takes us on the adventure. What a gift.

  • This piece is closed to what played by Li Jie. It has bass playing along with song.

  • Better version (and playing) in the world.

  • So forceful like a hurricane.

  • best guitar version ive heard

  • @a4558937 watch?v=-F1tgImEymU I actually think this guy holds his own. Which I understand is a dangerous thing to say against Segovia, but still have a listen :)

  • @Muzikman127 I've seen some video's of him and I must say he's a great player too, he plays wich allot of feeling.

  • ive been playing clssical guitar for years and i get on fine with tab, loads of people do. Its not at all an insult, its just shorthand. You do need to be able to listen to the piece to make sense of it though.

  • As Segovia said, it is easy to play the guitar badly, and difficult to play well. He is a great inspiration for us to see how beautifully the guitar can be played. Check my rendition on my page.

  • he's was a godamn master

  • check out my arrangement for guitar

    v=U2pmB_FbbwA

  • Nota 100000000000000000.00000000000000000000

  • amazing, I have loved his recordings for years but never saw any video or even photos of this gentleman. he seems like such a kind soul!

  • It seems that there is no man, just a mythological being with the form of a man with a guitar, like a centaur. There is no "he" on this video.

  • guys old

  • These different BWV suite's consist of pieces with he same name like Prelude, Bouree, Courante, Allemande, Sarabande and ...maybe I forgot one...or two. Can somebody tell me about suite's and what BWV means and these numbers...like 996 and 1007. Are there so many different suite's? Thanks...If it takes too many words please give me a PM.

  • @Za7a7aZ

BWV Is basically German for "Bach Works Index" and is a way of thematically organizing Bach's staggering works volume. I can help with that much at least

  • does anyone have tabs for this.. i want it so bad

  • @goorance

don't use tabs for this ! that's an insult

  • @NocturneCanada

you cant read notes and play classical music on guitar.. you read notes ones, then you create your tabs.. couse notes for guitar is diffcut to be readen.,. everything is about positions..

and i did find tabs on internet.. be free to ask if you need it

  • @goorance Can i have the tabs?
