@gifts216 sorry for the really really late answer...... The radio is composed of a standard BEC traxxas receiver, a futaba servo, and a traxxas marine transmitter. And thanks for the comment ;)

I have an old one too but i just paid $150 for a brush less motor. I do not know why i did not just buy a new one for a little more but i like my old one. I still have the original plastic body that came with it.

@Jmarsfan28 I completely agree, I love the fact my stampede is an old one, it came with a mechanical speed controller, the plastic parts were black and it wasn't RTR!

It is far more interesting to upgrade an RC than buying a new one even if you know it won't be as fast.

@LardassTheGayHippo It Will help for sure, a large spur gear too, because it would give you more torque. It may be possible with a great battery (for example, my pede is popping wheelies with the integy 7cell but not with a cheap 7cell with the same mah).

Tighten your slipper, add some spacers to the rear shocks and you'll be ready!

No T maxx conversion, simply the rear a-arms to the front. Everything that I have done is written in the video exept the new aluminium shocks and the new diff. Thanks for the comment.

I saw a full speed test video of a Stampede VXL an it was a little bit faster with 7 cell nimh (on the GPS).

For the brushes i don't notice a loss of speed. But i should change them.

You will need a Lipo cutoff to use Lipo batts. But the xl5 can handle 7.4V. The highest voltage you can use with the XL-5 is 9,6V , 8 cells nimh.

the parts list is in the video and you can see what i've done in the pictures. Maybe you will need some spacers to fit the stock caster block( buy some ball bearings and use the stock bushings, it's good with my nitro sport caster). The sv2 bb is really good. Very fast, very long run times. I've got it for one year and I have not changed the brushes yet. I've never tried the speed gem.
