It's my understanding CR has many American/Canadian residents/communities which probably drive the costs up knowing they can afford to spend more. I have visited third world countries, and yes, it usually is very inexpensive to eat where the locals do, but in the malls/big city dining they tend to drive their prices up to get a portion of the tourist dollars. yeah..CR rocks, by the way it's one of the best countries in Latin America..lol..^^ but in CR, things r not expensive for ticos, 'cuz the prices and the salary is relative you know..so..it's ok...and CR it's also beautiful and so nice... xD
