  • So obviously 2 bunny rescues think differently. Has anyone had success by supplementing or feeding them entirely if abandoned?

  • I was told by another bunny rescue that she fed them half of the puppy formula supplement (looks like baby formula) and half goats milk. Make sure its warm (they like it warm) so just stick it into a bowl with hot water for a minute. Also told syringes work best at beginning then the small nursing bottles at 2 wks old. U can get formula at petsmart and goats milk at any grocery store. At 7 wks u can give them oats (not quick oats). Do not give Mommy bunny any lettuce when feeding. only carrots.

  • You can get the small syringes from any pharmacy for about .25 cents or less. Just make sure to take the needle off. I called a rescue center and they told me to not supplement the smallest ones because if some milk went up their nose that they would asperate (the liquid goes into their lungs and they die) which is a more cruel way for them to die. Do you guys agree? Is it better to just let them die or try by supplementing?

  • Rabbits usually only have 8 nipples. I would split the litter into two nest boxes. 5 bigger in one and 4 smaller in the other. Put the 4 smallest in with the mom at 7pm. Put the others in a safe place until 7am and then switch them. The 4 smallest will get lots of time to catch up and does are more likely to feed in the midnight to 5am time slot. The five bigger kits will 'popcorn' and chirp to get her to feed them when they go in the morning so she will be making plenty of milk. Good luck.

  • Hi just wondering by rabbit had 9 baby's and am just wondering where can I get kittens milk because I think the mother isn't needing her baby's and should we bring them in at night and put them back out side in the morning ? Pls pm I need info fast cuz the baby's are not moving much and look hungry.

  • I usually just put some warm water from the sink in a measuring cup and then put the milk cup into the warm water for a few minutes. Room temp or warm...not cold from the fridge. If the babies get cold they won't eat as well.

  • how do u get the formula

  • good good...

  • hello, i was wondering how much to feed and how to get the KMR ready?

  • Thanks for the great video! Very helpful.

  • I personally prefer your method but some say that kits die if over fed. But this way they are fed just right I would say. Kits must vary depending on breed?

I have baby mixed breeds. They are part Dwarf Lionhead and Dwarf English Spot. I'm not sure if they are the same size about as polish rabbits. :)

  • We tried this with our rescued baby bunny and it died right after... Thanks a lot... :(

  • I would go with the sheep milk. Make sure it is warm but not hot. Good luck.

  • @xinedurkin um i have a question it's kind of stupid but how warm the milk should be? as in newborn baby warm or....? as my sister is kind of scared that her female bunny might abandon her young so she needs a lot of information about feeding, raising other stuff that is important.

  • i have a baby rabbit but i cant go out and get a formula. i only have sheep and cow milk. can i use that? or horse milk.

  • hi! :) I have 2 a 2-3 week old baby rabbits that were orphaned. what is the likely-hood that they will be able to survive on dog formula? Or how about sheep milk? (I have sheep that are lambing now) anywhooo...let me know!

  • how many syringes?

  • I am sorry to say that it is very probable that your kit will not survive. Cat mouths have an extremely high concentration of bacteria that quickly infects young animals. Best of luck and I am glad the video is helpful.

  • Thank you sooo much for posting this- I had never even seen a kit in my life until my cat brought one to my backdoor last night. She's doing fine and has just a small tooth puncture above one of her legs, but she's mobile and is using it just fine. I'm also feeding her KRM via a syringe and was afraid she wouldn't take it, but this helps a lot.

  • Thank you so much for posting this! It has saved 10 bunny lives so far! Your a hero of the bunny world !! :)

  • Please stop feeding lettuce and carrots immediately! Greens will give your small bunny diarrhea and they can die within 24 hours. Instead provide the young rabbit with a high quality rabbit pellet feed (not from wal mart but from a pet store) Look for Ox-bow feeds. Also give the bunny unlimited hay (again not straw but horse quality hay). Best of luck in your bunny adventure.

  • I've got a new baby rabbit but hes much more big than that although still very small Im unsure how to feed him though do you happen to know what we could feed him? he seems to be eating carrots and lettuce but he's not eating well or at least enough to say he might be ready for that

  • can someone help me my dog killed 2 baby rabbits out of the 5 i have the 3 and i dont have the time to feed them can some tell me if you can give then to a vet or something plz msg me?

  • my dad was tilling the garden the rabbits were underground and he killed the mom and 2 other ones i still have 3 is it okay if i use evaporated milk?

  • I am sorry to say that the success rate without having a nursing doe is very low. The best option for wild rabbits is goats milk but without the fresh goat's milk we have had success in supplementing with kitten formula. The difference is that we were only supplementing what the doe was already feeding. Are you sure of the age? Try to put some instant oatmeal in the bedding with the kits. If they are a little older they may eat some of the oats. Best of luck.

  • I now seem to own three 4 day old wild rabbits after the lawnmower took out thire nest. i'm told NOT to use kitten formula because cats are carnivors and the protine in it will kill them. What if your sucsess rate with rabbits and kitten milk? and have you tried 2%? Thats what i'm told is best.

  • cool video my friend found 3 day old baby bunnies in her bck yard the mom either got killed or just abandoned them. so me and my friend started bottle feeding them we didnt kno untill now how to hold them wen u give them milk so thanks for the video! also is it ok if u use a dropplet?

  • my friend is feeding wild baby bunnies tht she found in her bck yard cow milk and a droplet thing (idk wat its called) is this ok or is it bad for them??? pluss shes holding the baby bunnie wrong its on its back

  • my friend is feeding wild baby bunnies tht she found in her bck yard cow milk and a droplet thing (idk wat its called) is this ok or is it bad for them???

  • I just found two babys while plowing with my dad and I will have to feed them with a serenge any advice

  • why am i watching this

  • where do you get a syringe?

  • Thanks for the video. I have a 5 day old baby bun that was rejected by the mother (not my rabbit, someone lets this mother breed every month with dad in the cage...she never cares for them and they always die.) this is the last one from the litter and I am bottle feeding it. your video saved my little one! I wasn't giving him nearly enough. How many syring fulls do you feed a baby who is 5 days old and not with the mom? and how often?

  • Thank you! This helps A LOT. Uhg, my rabbit had a littler and she wouldn't feed em. I have a larger syringe and it's a harder with a bigger syringe and them squirming around like that. But thank you again!
